Thank you VERY much! The problem with my 10/22 is so bad that the bolt isn't going fully into battery because it scratches the round so deeply that it actually hangs up on every 3rd or 4th round. I'd hate to have to pay another $100 for an aftermarket bolt. I'll definitely give this a try. I'm rather disappointed that Ruger would be so sloppy in the machining process of one of their most iconic guns, though. You pay several hundred dollars for a gun that's been a classic for 50 years from one of the top arms companies in the country, you would expect it to work out of the box without having to make modifications to it just so it will cycle properly.

Makes good sense. Thanks for the heads-up. I haven't had this particular problem, but would think it could raise its ugly head in a significant amount of bolts.

+Mark Johnson I just looked at mine, I have had good experience and accuracy out to 50-75 yards or so, but I decided to run a test. I rammed a bx-15 home and cycled the bolt by hand about 5 times, removed the mag and extracted the last round. Along the bullets themselves, I had about 1/16" long slight indent on them... I will be smoothing and polishing my bolt until I can get an upgraded one...

+Seamus RBNW , just be careful not to take to much of, or it won't catch the round. so a little at a time.
