Hi Jayda, this blanket is so beautiful. What a surprise with the sun and all those cute trees. When we started this blanket I didn't know what to expect but WOW !!!! Thank you Jayda Lori Schreiner
Oh my, these trees are adorable & pretty! I would never have dreamed up this lovely blanket or elements. This will truly become a precious heirloom!! 🌳
Well, it was late last night, but GRASS was the first thing that came to mind😳 Trees! What fun!!! I’m reorganizing my stash and found a bunch of green. Yay! You guys rock🙋♀️❣️🥰😎

Hey!!!Now, working on my 2019 calender blanket, LOL right now, just getting back to it. Sewing my trees on, it is really mind blowing. Still lol, Thank You Jayda.
So excited. I finally finished the canvas blanket part tonight. The sun is also finished so I'm onto making my trees. I started very late but almost caught up! Enjoying this project. I have the tree colored yarn ready & Watching this video before crocheting tonight! 😊
I love this blanket so much Jayda!! I haven’t even started yet, but I’m enjoying seeing yours come together! I will start it as soon as I finish up my big project I’m working on. I’m finally almost done!! Now I have even more motivation! I appreciate you and Mr. InStitches so much!
I love these little trees! I only just found you and your 2019 blanket project about 2 weeks ago so I am scrambling as fast as I can to catch up. I created your two tone sun last night. I made the center from two yarn strand (yellow and orange) then I added a slightly darker orange for the outside but it kept bugging me when it hit me to use some red yarn to embroider on top of the sunrays only about halfway up each one. Turned out great. So now I am working on the trees and decided to use some white, gray and black variegated yarn (my son bought me on impulse 2 years ago) and was clueless on a good use for it. Then it hit me, Minecraft birch trees!! ROFLMBO!!! So now I am making birch trees with some of it. I may be turning 55 in a few months but I still enjoy a good computer game now and then. :) This is going to be awesome! I've crocheted for over 30 years but never ever did I consider crochet applique. I used to be an avid sewer and quilter so to me applique' is a fabric thing. Thank you for helping me broaden my brain into trying new things. :)
I thought it would be trees according to your description in your last video. I’m glad I have a bunch of different color greens! I still have to do the sun, will get to this week! Have a great week and Thank you 🙏😻🧶

I made 3 of your trees 🌳 The sewing 🧵 did not bother me this month! Jayda what is happening?? I’m scared 😟 I might actually start to like sewing!!! 😮😘 Thank you so very much!! Looking forward to May!!

Hi Melinda I am from the Po Pacific Northwest originally and was thinking I would love some triangle trees to go with Jayda's rounder ones do you have a pattern?
Dawn Baker My tree trunks are made of variegated browns, so none of them look the same, and I love the look. Go for it; I think you will love the way they look, too!
Quick question for you Jayda. Was going to bring my blanket home with me to add the sun and the trees. Are you using the same colours in the blanket for the rest of the surprises.I was going to bring some of the colours of yarn that I used to have it if I needed it to sew on the pieces. Hope you answer me before I leave. Thank you so much. Love everything that you teach and do. Susan
Hi Susan, colour use will be very personal throughout this blanket, owing to what's available where we all are :) There were be opportunities to use up lots and lots of scraps, including more of the colours we've used so far - so if you're looking to bring yarn with you, you might consider a small bag of odds and ends, just so you have a nice pallette of colours to dip into (depending on how long you're away).
Jayda InStitches Hi Jayda . I will be away until last week of September. I will bring all my scraps for sure. Thank you so much for getting back to me. I am sure there will be different yarns and colours I will get there as well. Thanks again for being so helpful. Susan
Hi Vima! Do something you love and stick to it :) It's a lot of work, but it can be a lot of fun too! Make the sort of videos that you want to watch :)
QUICK question!!! Nothing to do with this video but I’m OCD and was curious how you manage to remember the brand or color of a yarn once you’ve used it and it no longer has the band or if you made it into a ball etc. Like if you want to use a certain type of yarn and it’s been awhile? Any tips!? Thanks Doll!!
* giggle * A little leap out of our comfort zone now and again can be fun!! (ok, and scary too!! LOL) You've got tons of time, so don't feel you have to rush through it :) I find it a bit of a zen thing :)
I have a question. I realize that you are wanting to disclose these little add-ons slowly and one at a time, but I don't want to do the trees until I have some idea of what is going to happen later on. I wanted to make my trees a little spring-time, but I don't want to make them if I am going to do flowers later that are more summer or fall. Does that make sense? I want to try and bring some purples and pinks into my folk art. TIA for the response.
Hi Petra, if you have a particular season in mind that you want to follow, I say go with those colours - you'll be able to vary anything we make all year to suit your season :)
@@JaydaInStitches Thank you for your reply. And than you for taking the time to respond! I have missed you. I hope you are feeling okay. And if not, then I am sorry and I will be praying for you. Have a blessed day.
@jaydainstitches. Hi, Jayda🙋♀️ Question about tree trunks🌳. What is the average length of your trek trunks? I’m messing around with the yarn I want to use, same size hook, and I have one that’s life-sized and one that’s cartoon size 😂🤣🤪. I just need a perspective to their size to the sun...sort of? Happy crochet day 🧶
Hi Connie, I'd say the length of my trucks is about 1.5 x the diameter of my tree tops... so let's say the tree top is 6 cm (2.5 inches), than the length of the trunk is around 9 cm (3.5 inches) :)
My green section was only eight rows so my trees completely took out the light green, mostly also because of how I staggered them. Please, please tell me that there isn’t an appliqué that needs to go in the lower part, because I can’t do anything about it.
Toby, it's ALLLLLL good :) It's your blanket, you can move things around, include some appliques, make more, make fewer, skip some add extras.... Your work of art :) It's going to be beautiful and unique!
Hi Jayda!! I just realized that I sowed my sun on the wrong side of the blanket ☹️. Does it still work or do I take the sun off and see if back on the other side? Thank you so much for the video! Super trees!!
Hi Eloise! Just continue adding appliques to the side that you started on, you'll just have to reverse where you put the odd thing, like the Barn :) But don't worry, it will still work out perfectly!
Hi Bonita! I think we may have answered this, but just in case anyone else needs the reference (and thank you for asking!) they're approximately 3.5 to 4 inches in diameter :)
Hi Kay, that gets discussed a little further into the tutorial - I made 7 but you can make a few more or less depending on how thick you want your forest area to be :)
Hello mam. How are you. Can you help me mam to make amigurumi tree with lot of branches , leaves and flowers on it. I loved this video and made these tree appliques. Now I want to make trees that look real and not appliqués. Like crocheted bonsai trees with leaves and flowers.

@Jayda InSitches As the sun is only completely round as all people sees it and all pictures taken from being seen through telescopes how is it that you made the sun of not being real???
@@JaydaInStitches Again, why is it that you and so many people create the Sun as it is not of the real Sun? Where, how did this concept of the real Sun come from? As EVERYONE KNOWS, SEES THE SUN? Really, you do not think this creation of the Sun is extremely an odd thing to do of a REAL THING, NOT SOMETHING THAT IS JUST AN IMAGINARY OBJECT? Why would you not even had addressed my true question, as I did not ask if I have to crochet it as other people do, but of why did you make as the Sun was created as it is? I very much truly want to know of this. Thank You very much Jayda in advance of you answering my inquiries very truly sincerely, Eliana Miller

Just compare the feel and look of the yarns together.
Wrap the band around what you don't use and tape it. If you rolled it into a ball fold the band and slip it under a few strands of the ball
Sometimes I put the yarn in a zip lock plastic bag with the band in it.

Hi Eloise! Just continue adding appliques to the side that you started on, you'll just have to reverse where you put the odd thing, like the Barn :) But don't worry, it will still work out perfectly!
@@JaydaInStitches Thank you so much!!
how large are the tree circles?
Hi Bonita! I think we may have answered this, but just in case anyone else needs the reference (and thank you for asking!) they're approximately 3.5 to 4 inches in diameter :)
Jayda how many trees do we need to make in total?
Hi Kay, that gets discussed a little further into the tutorial - I made 7 but you can make a few more or less depending on how thick you want your forest area to be :)
My date for leaving is May 15th
Hello mam. How are you. Can you help me mam to make amigurumi tree with lot of branches , leaves and flowers on it. I loved this video and made these tree appliques. Now I want to make trees that look real and not appliqués. Like crocheted bonsai trees with leaves and flowers.
Hi Seema, thank you for the suggestion :)

I have a question jayda. Why do i never get the notification of your life vidos im.
@Jayda InSitches As the sun is only completely round as all people sees it and all pictures taken from being seen through telescopes how is it that you made the sun of not being real???
Hi Eliana, if you would prefer to make your sun round, you are most welcome too :) The "Rays" or solar flares can be left off.
Don't understand why my last comment came up under my sons name???? This is Kelli Bisirri. any ideas? its always come up correct before??
Your son is probably signed into youtube.
I never get to joing you
Hi Aganetha, if you're subscribed to the channel, make sure you've also got your notification bell turned on, that should give you a notice when we post a video or a notification on our Community Post tab. Sometimes, however, UA-cam has difficulties with the notification system, so it could be that too!
