Margret Tiffin, you can bring any cutting file, including svg, into canvas workspace and “export” or “send to machine” in fcm format.
I started going grey at the ge of 14, and refused to color it. At least it was in my bangs. And didn’t look to bad. When I met my hubby at 16 he was going bald. So the agreement was I won’t die my hair and he wouldn’t wear a wig. It’s called growing old gracefully together. We will be married 61 years on Jan. 🤠🤎👍🧵
How sweet!
Becky, all that compute work would take me all week to do. you make it looks so easy. I do love the pattern you are working on. But Embrilliance would take me too long to learn. I'll just sit back and watch your videos. wish there was an easier way.
That’s cool. I live in the town where Ken’s Sewing Center is. Great people.
Becky, Ken’s is where I’ve been buying my all my Brother sewing supplies for many years. That was nice of you and nice of Ken’s to thank you. When I was watching you that day I was surprised when you mentioned Ken’s. Thanks for teaching the Scan N Cut and in the hoop quilting for 5x7. You are awesome. 👏
I love your videos. I usually don't catch the live. I am from New Jersey, originally from Philly.
I am going through cancer treatment sew I binge watch your stitchuation videos on my large tv and they help me cope with the side effects of chemo. You are sew much fun to watch and sew talented.
Bless you and Keith❤
My son's father-in-law is getting Chemo I want to make him a throw that will help me keep warm. He's 6'3" and thin, thin, thin., please let me know what size quilt should I make.
You might try a Jelly Roll Race quilt and use 2 jelly rolls or 80 2.5” strips. Missouri Star has a video for this and it’s my go-to ‘cancer quilt’. Quick and easy to make in an afternoon and will make a throw size width but longer length quilt for tall people. ua-cam.com/video/2bEJLnaZQOU/v-deo.htmlsi=-KK9jrFBvQaKxLwc
Good morning Becky! I’m just getting ready to bind this really cute Sea Turtle embroidered baby quilt! Love watching you & your tutorials, have learned so much from you!!!!! Thank you so much!
What I did on the templates is I got a sharpie and just made a small black mark around the template and then scanned, and then it scanned just fine
I missed you this morning. Watching the replay.
You are the best!!!!
Good morning from MA 14:53
Watching replay from N Texas. Just got out my old ScanNCut to make some bats for my daughter’s skirt for Halloween. Haven’t used it in ages. Hoping for some good tips.
Thanks Becky got my New ScanNCut 325DX and it is all setup and working with My Stellaire XE2 perfectly, thanks to you and your great instructions!!! Now off to buy Stitch Artist 2! Linda from Central Kentucky
Awh over slept watching u on replay !!
Hi I’m Franciney,
from Long Island New York
I have used the pen to draw on the interfacing. The reason being, I love this certain quilt and it is turned edge applique. Just didn't look right with blanket stitch in Simply Applique. Stitched around on the drawn line and snipped a slit and turned out. Beautiful turned edge. Couldn't do starch around freezer paper anymore! I have pictures.
Got up and decided to clean the house😟. Gotta do that when the spirit moves me ,So am just now watching.
Use your arrow keys to move the selected boxes. It will move in incriminates. It looks like Adobe base.
Hi from Dunnellon, Florida
Hello from New Mexico! Love LEARNING sew much from your videos!!! Thx!!!😊
Going Wednesday to doctor to schedule knee replacement surgery. Trying real hard to get two quilts cut out, sewn, and quilted (free motion) before it happens. Also making a reversible large format checker board/tic tax toe quilt and Erica Arendt’s Squishy Bag to put it all in. Enjoy Quilt Market/Festival. Wish I were going.
You’re so busy! Prayers for a successful knee replacement!
@@PowerToolsWithThread thank you. Will take all the prayers I can get. Not looking forward to it, but anything is better than what it is now.
I quit “painting my hair” as my children said when I turned 50! Found my first gray at 12! Lasts not a typo. Just decided it was too much trouble and I needed to embrace my family genes.
i will never embrace white hair. i die my purple and blue
I am in California - Meissner is our store - San Jose would be cool - Sacramento is too far for me to travel!!! The sell all kinds of sewing and embroidery!!!
Hi Becky from Qaqortoq, Greenland. I enjoyed the replay of your live! Very interesting video!
My first from Greenland! Thank you so much for joining me! Welcome!
Caught replay today.
Becky - Like your hair color. Subtle color and very pretty. Will other quilt dealers price match festival prices? Hope you and Keith have a safe and rewarding trip to Houston and beyond. Blessings
Watching on replay.
Great show
love hp ink too
hair looks better
Thanks for a great video - WHICH Embrilance STITCH ARTIST DO YOU HAVE 1, 2, 3? ❤
Come to Brisbane Australia.
Don't have a scan n cut. Will check back another day.
Question:
I would like to get a scan and cut. However, I don't have an embroidery machine. I'm more interested in scanning and cutting. Here's the question.
Does the heat and bond hold up to washing with only the blanket stitch? I've never used it.
I want to do the Lori Holt Chicken Salad quilt. The tutorials use BES4 Dream Edition to digitize this but I only have BES3. However, I also have Embrilliance and the cost of getting the BES4 is about the same as adding the Stitch Artist 2 to Embrilliance. What would you recommend for me to do since I have never used the BES3 software and don't think I need both. I am getting back into embroidery after taking some time off and I am binge watching your tutorials to learn how to simplify the process. Thanks in advance
I’m fairly certain BES3 will do this for you. Since it can’t be returned, it’s worth a try to install it to find out. Check out my tutorials using Simply Appliqué to get started. I have an entire playlist for Chicken Salad that uses this software. Have fun!
Thank you so much. I'll try it.
Safe trip.
I’m a newbie to scan n cut machines. In your opinion, will I be satisfied with the SDX85 model as a beginner or should I wait until the SDX325 is in the budget?
Same question. SDX85 good enough?
If you reduce all scanned pieces by the same percentage after scanning, do you think all of the pieces would fit together right? I am planning on trying it for my next project. I have one that is a wall hanging but I think I would like it better if it was a little smaller.
Yes, set them just as the pattern requires in Canvas for the final design. The right click/Group and then resize. Then separate all the pieces out and download to the SNC to cut the fabric and download to the PC to create the appliqué designs.
Thanks to your great videos, I have the cut and scan down. WOW. I also get the use of the software to " button it" and turn it into applique. The only thing that I'm not following is how to put the pieces together correctly before turning it into an applique. Could you show how you put the scans together in the software. Those big patterns like the Scotty and Apple seem to be beginner but I need to see the more complicated. Do you have a video for this??
Try this one. Use Embrilliance Stitch Artist 2 to Digitize the Dahlia Block in Lori Holt's Bee Vintage

Becky, So you will only be at the Houston show for Market?
Congratulations on losing 40 lbs! You looked fabulous on the cruise!
I am making Campers by Amy Bradley Designs. I am struggling with bringing the pieces on top of the back ground design for placement and scaling to fit. Do I need to scan each piece
separately or can I scan the whole page of pieces, bring into Embrilliance 3? Do you have a video you can direct me to for the tutorial?
Chattanooga
I have scan and cut. At this point all I want to learn how to do is scan the designs and then have the scan and cut cut out the appliqué pieces (flowers etc) and then applique the wool pieces that are backed with heat and bond feather light. Help. Can you recommend a tutorial to do this? I don’t want to do machine embroidery. 😮
It would be the same steps Becky did for cutting the appliqué here just don’t do the embroidery part.
If I’m a newbie with Embrilliance and SNC and I just want to make the bee vintage appliqué and the wander lane appliqué, can I just get the Embrilliance stitch artist 2 to start, or do I need Stitch artist 2, essentials, and enthusiast? I’m hoping to budget in one at a time if possible.
Begin with Stitch Artist 2, then get Essentials when you’re ready. Enthusiast can wait until you need it.
Hello
Wondering about rotary blade and what you don't like about it when cutting on quilt fabric.
The rotary blade takes F.O.R.E.V.E.R to cut anything out. And I’ve seen it make some very wonky slices into appliqué pieces at classes I’ve been to. Sometimes it works but since the regular blade works so well, I save it for things besides quilting cottons.
@PowerToolsWithThread well, yes, very slow! I have not had any cutting issues, but good to know this can happen. I so appreciate your honesty and experience with this.
Could you use to cut out wool for wool appliqué
Yes! The SNC will cut fabric up to 3mm in depth. I recommend trying the rotary blade for wool. The standard blade may drag a bit in wool.
Hello,...when you are sewing the applique stitches do you match the thread with the fabric or do you use a neutral thread color? If neutral, what thread and color do you use? Thank you so much...
I used a neutral tan thread on Chicken Salad on all appliqué pieces. On the Bee Vintage, I’ve been matching the thread to the fabric. Honestly, I like the single thread color effect better.
Are your pieces a quarter inch bigger all around using your method?
No, the are the exact size as the simple shape.
Is stitch 2, the only part of embrillance that does this to appliqué?
Yes, at a minimum you need Stitch Artist 2. This feature is also in Stitch Artist 3 because it has all the tools in SA2 as well.
Find out FCM stands for fabric cutting machine.
While that sounds plausible, it’s actually based on an algorithm for graphics called Fuzzy c-means. 😀
But I like your idea! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuzzy_clustering
Can you convert fcm to Svg? I have Palette 11 and am not sure if it accepts fcm files.
Would your husband publish the instructions for the table your scan n cut sits on
I did a blog post on it. powertoolswiththread.com/2024/01/12/my-scanncut-cabinet-meaurements/
Late to the party as usual. Don’t get up in time. 🥲 But watch every morning. Bought my ditch foot. Thanks you get me motivated every morning. Becky and coffee is all I need…LOL 😂❤
