Prof Dr Rafi uddin #Hashmi was an Iqbalist, researcher, and travel writer of #Pakistan. He was born on February 9, 1940, in Masriyal, #Chakwal District. He studied at #Oriental College, #Lahore, and got his Ph.D. from the University of Punjab by writing a thesis on the subject of #research and explanatory study of Iqbal's works. He has authored books on Iqbal and Urdu #language and #literature. He was a professor in the Department of #Iqbaliat, #Oriental College and #PunjabUniversity. He was also the President of the #Urdu Department for some time. After retirement, he was also a Distinguished Professor of Higher Education Commission, from 2006 to 2008. He has received Baba-e-Urdu Award and National Presidential #Iqbal Award.
