The small hole is for air to enter while drinking.. It prevents the bubbles when drinking or pouring very fast. You could only take sips from the old model.
[RESOLVED on the slow flow of old lid design] I have the same Sttoke 16oz with the old lid (not the new version). The problem is the hole for air breather at the hard plastic lid closed by the rubber cover during drinking position. The solution is: 1. Mark the location of air breather at the bottom of the rubber cover, you can use needle or small nail. 2. Take off the rubber cover. 3. Turn on your stove, heat a small nail and push the heated nail at marked location of the rubber cover. It would be pretty easy because the cover is pure rubber. 4. Now the rubber cover will not obstruct air breather at the hard plastic during drinking position. 5. Enjoy a better flow of your coffee, or tea, or whatever you put into your Sttoke cup.
Been looking for a ceramic travel cup and though the Sttoke redesign was going to be the one, but the drinkability issue with the lid cover is kind of a deal breaker given the mug costs $70 (in Canada). I'll keep using my Kleen Kanteen, which is stainless steel, but never leaks in storage or while drinking, until there's a better option Have you tried the Fellow Carter Move out Saint Anthony Industries Sojourner? They're also marketed as leak-proof ceramic tumblers, but you have to screw the lid off to drink from them, so a bit less convenient
Hi, is drinking from the lid really uncomfortable in terms of the obstruction caused by the protuding part? And does the spillage occur all the time during drinking, or is it only at times when the angle isnt good? Thank you :) I am intending to get one!
Good review. The problem of the drinking on the cup may not justify for the pricetag. I have 2 sttoke cup. For the white cup, the paint come out on the outer surface and inner become dull n stained. Only good thing is the insulator.
Hi. After a year of having Sttoke 16oz leakproof mug, how’s your experience overall? Does the leakproof still reliable? Do you have accidental spill? Is the cap accidentally open when you hit it or in the bag? Thanks.
After one year, I am convinced that simple is better (I have other complicated designed cup but I give up using them). Sttoke served its purpose well. It has NEVER spill inside my bag or become loose accidentally and kept my drinks hot for a long time. So far, my experience with it is positive except that the design of the cap still touches my nose. Haha.
@@TechieLobang Thanks for the reply. I’m thinking of getting one. But couldn’t find much review on Sttoke leakproof mug. Most of the reviews are on Stokke spills proof version. I know how it feels on the cup touching the nose 😅. My thermos also like that. It’s kind of annoying need to wipe my nose after every sips. Thanks for the good review. I think I’ll get one.
Are 24bottles travel tumbler have ceramic coating on the inner? If it not have ceramic coating does it change the coffee taste because of the stainless steel inner?
hell no, no product is safe to put into a bag with your laptop or any electronics even if it claims to be leak proof. Seals wear over time, it is just what happens.
For some reasons, some part of this video (e.g. "this is not magic") got me laughing. Now this gives me a clearer picture on whether I should purchase Sttoke. Can you make a review on Frank Green products too?

Great info on the sip part, i have trouble with the same lip lid design. It's a no go for me

I got mine yesterday and i really love it❤And don't have any lip lid troubled.

I have not tried them before. Thanks for the comment.

It spills when i tilt my head to drink it. But once you get a hang on it.. it is ok... The non-spillage feature is the reason why i got it.
Thanks for review and comparison. So the old design is more comfortable to drink, but not leak proof?
Yes, that is my opinion

I agree. I have 2 Sttoke cups. Now, all are stained. They are now promoting one with black interior.. Haha

Very informative review
Glad you liked it!
I think I'm gonna stick to my 24bottles travel tumbler then. Nice review by the way 👍🏻
Thanks!

@@plerhero but it makes your coffee or ice latte stay waaaaay longer, so... You choose
I think in the end i just gonna buy both 24bottles travel tumbler and another brand with inner ceramic coating, lol. Btw thanks for your testimonies
thanks for the video! cheers!
My pleasure!
Sttoke or Fellow Carter?
STTOKE it is..
Is it safe to put it in my bag while travelling with my laptop in it too?

I think the whole is just for straw if you drink just remove the cap
It is not just for straw but of course, you can use a straw or unscrew the lid :)
I got the same from TOM SMITH brand for 40 Riyals lol
Use a sippy cup they never spill
I like Sttoke heat retention :)

Unfortunately, I do not own any Frank Green products right now.
