- Schönster Herr Jesu is a familiar hymn, also known in English as "Fairest Lord Jesus", or "Beautiful Savior".
The tune is known as "Crusader's Hymn", a Silesian folk tune from Schlesische Volkslieder from 1842.
This recording is just me sitting down and playing a unrehearsed tune on my recently restored Karn reed organ, made in Woodstock, Ontario, in 1905. For more information on the restoration, visit: www.rodneyjantzi.com/karn/
Absolutely Beautiful! Well done sir!
Beautiful! A wonderful sound that is so uplifting. Thanks for playing and sharing.
The first time I ever sang a solo in church it was Beautiful Saviour. This video reminds me of that time AND as a young kid visiting with my Grandmother's cousin on a farm and hearing her play this tune on the reed organ she had in her living room.
The quality of your work speaks for itself! Also, the quality of your video, and the audio is quite satisfactory.
Very nice! One of my favorite hymns of all time. Lovely! :)
