A small correction to the intro: The original C-Series wasn't a co-development with Airbus, it was an entirely Bombardier project. But Bombardier hit major financial problems and then had to sell off a bunch of their businesses, including a majority stake of the C-Series to Airbus (as well as selling the CRJ to Mitsubishi, de Havilland Canada to Longview (so the DHC portfolio is entirely under one banner now), and their train business to Alstom).
I think these cheaper planes have a place even for those of us who prefer the more detailed planes. Sometimes it's nice to just jump in for a quick flight without having to spend half an hour setting everything up. Good review as always AvAngel, thank you.
I worked Ramp for Delta Air Lines for 3 years. I can assure you the howl from the engines is 100% accurate. It's actually much louder than modeled in the sim
Spent money on a VictualCol product and regretted it almost immediately unfortunately. I do give them props for saying this is meant for casual simmers and it is not accurate. I just can't support them (and I don't need 100% accuracy but I at least want the majority of the switches and buttons to actually work).
The whale noises from the PW1500G engines when coming off idle are completely accurate and a characteristic of the plane. It wouldn't have been accurate without them. I thought the A220 whale noise was widely known about.
@@AvAngel Fair! :-). Thanks for the review! I actually like the budget airliners that don't take a week to learn how to start properly, and this seems alright for the money.
Sure, you really have to lower your expectations with the VirtualCol A220 but as a budget plane, I find it a simple fun flyer nonetheless. Unlike the awesome Fenix A320 or iFly 737 MAX for example, you don’t have support for GSX Pro seated passengers if you enjoy that feature owing to the VirtualCol A220 being a Marketplace release or any fancy features the upcoming Synaptic A220 will bring if they ever finish it. Did a short flight in the VirtualCol A220 in the included Korean Air livery between Fly2High’s Daegu and SamScene3D’s Busan and the autopilot worked like a default charm! No probs using GSX Pro for ground service ops with the A220.
Thanks a dozen for your video. Everyone to one‘s desires, and as shortly-before-retirement armchair pilot with no wishes for a PMDG-level model, I enjoyed your vid and appreciated the “flyable” verdict - that’s all I need these days. Guess I‘ll give this bird a spin soon!
Did I hear you mention 1-11🤔??.....oh joy of joys, I so loved the FS9 one....happy days🙃😘....I'm not much of a tube flyer these days, preferring low and slow bimbling around the south coast of England hopping around BBD airfields....but this might just tempt me back to FL350, we shall see😄.....nice vid by the way, I've always loved the scenery around Innsbruck😍
Just saw the video. Nice landing. Especially that you don’t fly jet airliners. You did sell me on buying it. I agree with you. Not study level but pretty nice for 15 pounds. That about 20 usd here in the colonies ?
I agree with you AvAngel 100%! That's why I want more products like Shrike Sim's F86 and GotFriends F4F Wildcat. $20 price point with excellent model, fly's well, excellent sounds, and has enough simulated so you can fly it realistically.
I got refunded. There was no way to control the cockpit volume so I literally had to turn it down and windows so then I couldn't hear atc. I hope virtualcol can fix it then I'll re-buy it. But I got my $20 back.
Thank you for the review. FYI VCol is working on dash8-1/2/3. I'd say, I had their dash8 in FSX and I enjoyed it. For the fun of flying. I equaly enjoyed Majestic 8q400 but you can't realy fly these around Greenland, can you :) I agree with you 100%. If someone really needs to fly that particular aircraft, than it looks ok and for the quality and number of liveries it comes with I think it's worth £15
The entire systems and engines stopped working during the flight. You said it, is not study level, but why do we experience engines and systems failure?
I'm surprised you even bothered, considering the well known fact the dev is among the worst of the worst. (Not a single product of theirs in the Marketplace is rated above 3.4). However, there's a much higher fidelity (or even study level, iirc) A220 coming from "Synaptic Simulations" and published by Inibuilds.
