    Hi Tony,
    A small comment on the intricacies of English: Numbers whose right hand digits, when used to describe a position, not a numeric value, are 1, 2, or 3 are written differently than the rest, (which are all written with a 'th' after them.) But the digit 1 is written as '1st', 2 is written as '2nd', and 3 is written as '3rd'. Thus, 223rd, 791st, and 82nd are correct examples of our common English insanity.
    English is my first language. I always got very good grades in it, and I have been using it every day for over 70 years, but I have no idea in Hell why we write these this way.

      Thanks John, yes as a 50+ non native i can still learn... it should have been 3rd... even though in my head it sounds the same...i am very phonetic

    I have been using mine now for more than 2 years the only problem I have had is the rf output is 30db higher than what the display shows. I have not tried to find out why that this problem exists but operate it with a 30db pad. The frequency and modulation are correct and the spectral purity is actually very clean.

      Great to hear Robert! so there are a few that are good and also keep working after some years, thank you for the feedback on this.

      I am still hoping it was the shipping. BG is still trying to help me, so lets see. but not to impressed about the device by looking at the inside.

      @@TonyAlbus Tony - what "affordable" RF Gen would you recommend? I'll let you define affordable.

    • @TonyAlbus
      @TonyAlbus  Рік тому

      @@Homer19521 i prefer then a secondhand Marconi or R&S ... of you want cheap this is okey, in a later video about this generator i have it working.. but maybe NOT get it from Banggood but from AliExpress. i have the feeling that BG sometime just ships again an item that others have returned... that is just not done, when sold as new.
      the output from this generator is nicely adjustable, so you can acualy adjust a receiver with it. while many other generators are around 0dB and you need lots of attanuation

    Hey Tony, Looks like i will be shopping from aliexpress from now on, I purchased the RIDEN FULL KIT RD6018W Power Supply on the 12th sep and still waiting for shipment, now they tell me no stock and waiting for resupply, Not Happy. Anyway keep up the great work , would like to see more cb repair if you still do it.

      Thank you! With Banggood it is normal some shipping take 2 mouths and other 1 week. i never got why.. but it is normal. Ali is indeed more constant but there it also depends on the store itself.

    there is an oscilloscope + signal generator on the BANGOOD website. I wonder what to buy? what is the difference between having a tool with two functions or Generator+Oscilloscope or separately?

    • @TonyAlbus
      @TonyAlbus  Рік тому

      Hi, Yes some oscilloscopes have also a signal generator... it all depents on your needs. those integrated signal generators usualy are limited to 25 MHz and only a few volts .. if that is enough for you, then it could be something for you. if you need higher frequencies or a higher voltage the you start to look at generators that specificly are to your needs.

    I bought my 3d printer from Banggood and they sent a remote control car instead. It was a Military Hummer H1 and I messaged them. Their reply was I take the package to the post and ship it to China and pay and then they will repay and send the printer. I said hell no I waited a month then you send me wrong item and want me to do the leg work myself!! Eventually they sent me the printer and told me to enjoy my RC car. Lol
    P. S. Not everything is Junk from China, actually alot of good products are available but just be careful what you buying and don't believe the sales and reviews

      Good it was solved in the end. Yes i have also very good experiences from China too, but mostly from AliExpress.

    Silly question, but didn't you have to press the Enter key or something after you type in the frequency? I don't think they sent you a rejected one because you're advertising for them after all. It could be a buggy software in which case they must be getting a lot of 1 star reviews. Something must be amiss.

    • @TonyAlbus

      Good question, but there is no enter button you just finish typing all digits.

    I bought one and as the display worked by using an outboard power supply, I installed an internal regulated 12vdc PSU, and again the display worked, but no signal coming out. Chinese garbage. This was from Alliexpress. Trying to get a refund.

    It's so very typically Chinese manufacturing. Instead of making things that work and have regular samples quality controlled, they just react to change the design when customers complain. Well, sometimes! I think this shows the product hasn't been meaningfully improved, but that people who want cheap things will keep buying them. It is a shame, because it could be good for the same or only slightly higher price. They've certainly lost me as a potential customer.

    • @TonyAlbus
      @TonyAlbus  5 місяців тому

      Sometimes you do find nice things, so i keep trying, i am just not buying at BangUgood anymore. If a product is Bad and its easy to get a refund. i am willing to try. BangUgood has proved itself over de last years to have very Bad customer service i do NOT recomment. Most Ali Express stores do have good service.

    • @TonyAlbus
      @TonyAlbus  3 роки тому

      Yes maybe it is because of the 'free sample' a reviewer can request, that they send out returns. but that is silly without any quality control.

    25mhz is enough... few people work in radio frequency. Switching sources also do not work above 25mhz. Am I right?
