    For anyone who's dumb like me, you don't fold up it up so the cut is on the inside of the wall, you fold it so the part you cut is facing outside (so no hay or debris get stuck in the hole) Gotta redo my setup now lol

    If I may ask, cuz I'm researching right now, why two separate sections that overlap instead of one big tray? Is it easier to clean? Be kind please I'm just trying to learn

    Thank you for an awesome, detailed "how to."
    I will be combining my 2-2x4s and 1-2x2 this weekend to make a 4x7....this is exactly what I needed.
    Again, thank you.

    That looks awesome!! I used white duck tape to keep mine together, I wish I could have found those edge pieces, but I got my coroplast from a printing company.

    Instead of doing both corners with sliding on the tops why not just slide both ends into one slide on lol

    Just curious as to why you opted to use coroplast? I know in your previous videos you set up the cages right on the countertop...

      Totally understand :) I'm actually trying a setup similar to yours as you always managed to make it look so nice. I just got my little guys a few weeks ago (two males) and the pre-built Midwest cage I purchased already seems to have too many constraints in terms of space for them to be happy. I temporarily built a larger set-up using grids, (with the fleece/uhaul wrapped around them), but it's good to have this feedback on that method from someone who's tried it out.

      Jessica W we just got two Midwest cages. I'm not very impressed. I looked up this video because I hate the canvas bottom of the Midwest.

    My Guinea pig is a HUGE chewer. I have been wanting to build her a c&c cage for awhile now but don't know if the coroplast could withhold her bad habits. Any another safe alternative for the coroplast??? Please help me out, Thank You!

    Once I saw this was taken inside of a teachers classroom (yes, I know, I didn't notice the username) the quality of video made a lot of sense. Thanks for the short, simple instructions.

    I don’t have an X-Acto knife, is there something else I could use?

    • @TeachersPiggyPets
      @TeachersPiggyPets  4 роки тому

      They are cheap to get and work the best. A regular knife will not work well and there is a chance you could hurt yourself or damage the coroplast.

    I think we get the idea with the edging - too long, needs editing.

  • @weirdscience6820
    @weirdscience6820 5 років тому

    I think we get the idea with the edging - too long, needs editing. You've done nothing about sealing the seams/joins.. this is a problem I noticed in videos on making these cages. Only saw one person, using aquarium sealant, but not sure if it was only because they folded inward at the scoring line.

    • @weirdscience6820
      @weirdscience6820 5 років тому

      Was just my opinion that it wasn't necessary to let the vid go for that long. I wish they did only pee a slight amount.. If that were the case, I don't see why a known guinea pig UA-camr like skinnypigs has to change her fleece twice a week rather than once. Dry faeces that isn't stinky or mushy compared to a cat or dogs allows more time in between changes.
      It's summer here. As well, you may get a guinea pig that drinks a lot. I do realize that not sealing the corners, seams, whatever it may be, is for the convenience of transportation. Pigs do pee in dark corners though and may return to the same spot to pee. I'd recommend waterproof lining (as a stain preventative too).
