The two link removal and twisting approach is so interesting! I love that you noted the pros and cons for each length. Beautiful 🖤 bracelet. I need one in the neutral tiger eye. 🤎 Great video! 😘
Wow things have definitely changed, I just picked up my 5 motif van cleef bracelet and they literally removed “4 links” they returned them back to me in a tiny zip lock bag and I counted each gold piece . So this video concept of the “4 link removal” is quite interesting.
I think they now confirm by length (cm) instead of counting links as can be a bit confusing. But the 2 links, 4 links concept has been used for a long time by SAs.
I know it’s a completely different style, but with my sweet Alhambra I have to twist it in the opposite direction in order to have the twist stay put longer. Wonder if that would work for the 5 motif. I think you made the right choice though. I had my Tiffany beaded bracelet sized and I’m so glad I did. Great info Kimmy!
It’s much easier to twist the 5 motif as the chains are quite substantial. It’s not hard to do. Just a hassle to have to do it each time. I love your Tiffany bracelet! But I need to focus on the thin love. I want it so bad! 🙈🙈🙈😘😘😘
@@kklvoescc absolutely recommend the Small Love Bracelet! It looks so elegant on, plus you can take it off easily! So glad Cartier made the Small line!
Tx for this as I’m struggling a bit with how loose I want my bracelet to be. After having shortened it to the looser setting do you still prefer it looser or does it get in the way ?
@@ClaraZeela I purchased my bracelet rather lose and had it shortened, I found it got in my way when doing house chores. I much prefer it now that it has been sized. Hope that helps.
My wrists are about 14cm. I took out 4 links which VCA considers to be 2 links. I found this a bit confusing but the repair specialist explained that each link is doubled. Thankfully I was measured in person or I would've made a mistake and requested too many links be removed. It is still very loose on its own but I tend to stack many bracelets so it needs to go also go pretty high up on my wrist. Plus I find it pretty impossible to put on if it's any tighter.
It is super confusing for a novice, isn’t it?! This was my first 5 motif so had I not done the research I’m pretty sure I would have made a mistake! I do think this bracelet looks nicer with a bit of movement, unlike the Cartier bangles which I prefer more snug. Can’t wait to get it back! 🖤🖤🖤
Still can’t decide on resizing my bracelet… I’m wearing further down and stacked with others so it doesn’t move around much… Actually saw a video about adding links so you can have one motif dangling and it’s more comfortable as a necklace! Can’t really decide and it’s only free for 3 months after the purchase!
I hear some SAs can waive that fee past the 3 months. Never hurts to ask. I just sent mine for adjustments. I will share how it turns out when I get it back in a few weeks! 🥰🥰🥰
Great video! This is so helpful. I had two links removed on my MOP and it's still too long as a bracelet and too short as a necklace. I think for me, I have to either take out four links for a snug-fitting bracelet OR keep as it is and let it dangle so I can wear it as a necklace. If I get the onyx bracelet, I'll do the latter so it is more versatile.
You have skinny wrists so you have to take so many off. Since you already have the mop I think keeping the necklace option open is a good idea. Unless you end up getting the 10 motif! 😉😉😉
This was very helpful! I didn't have any links removed but I think I should have. My wrists are 5.5/6 inches depending on how hot it is. Thanks for sharing! Xoxo
So flattered you stopped by! 😊 I took the longest time to decide but trying it on in different lengths really helped. I hear SAs can usually override the charge to remove links after the 3 month grace period so you should ask your SA if you still want it done. 🥰🥰🥰
If I want to take 2 links out, why don't they just do it evenly? 1 chain between each motif so 6-6-6-6 chains? Is it usual for them to only take it out from the outer ends so it becomes 5-7-7-5?
You would think they could do 1 link from each section. But they only take 2 out at a time. I haven’t really asked why but assuming there is some technical reason behind it. And yes, the standard is to only take out from the 2 outer ends. I never asked them if they can take it out from the center for 7-5-5-7. They do state they will only make corrections that will not compromise the integrity of the piece so maybe they think it’s aesthetically the most pleasing?🤔 But that’s just me guessing. Sorry I don’t have clear answers for you! 🥰🥰🥰
I don’t think it will damage the bracelet as the chains are still loose after twisting. I think the dangling motif could possibly get more wear since it would be hitting surfaces more but I personally have not worn it this way so I couldn’t say for sure. And as for showering, it is never recommended and I take mine off before showering. Hope this helps! 🥰🥰🥰
You’re welcome! And yes, I do wear this daily! I think the only 5 motif I know of that wouldn’t wear daily is the malachite as I hear it’s very delicate. But onyx is definitely good everyday! 🖤🖤🖤
I think you could get away with both but I hear the more links removed the harder it is to put on by yourself. You should watch Clarazeela’s recent video on her experience. She has some great info on sizing and I think her wrist is similar to yours. 🥰🥰🥰
The hanging motif was the perfect fit for me I didn't even think about doing that. Thank you so much for bringing that idea to light!
