I brought a friend along to see JPW for the first time. After the first song, she exclaimed, "where has he been all my life????" I can't believe he isn't top level famous. I mean, I'm glad he isn't, because the meet and greets would go away. LOL. What a gracious, humble, and talented man he is!
Jeff, i was this many years old when i learned you'd recorded and uploaded this performance. That song still stands out in my mind as the single greatest live vocal performance of my lifetime.
I have listened to every UA-cam video of this song, including the original fan seals version. This one is head and shoulders over them all. John Paul's angelic voice and interpretation is the best.
Not a big country fan but I record old rock songs and instrumentals. I did this song a year ago and love it. Dan Seal's masterpiece is done here by John Paul White. His version is a masterpiece in subtlety, just like Seals wanted. I think I have a new country favorite.
I saw him in STL last year and also in KC...and I remember very clearly this song when he performed it. Gave me goosebumps, as did the rest of his set! Got to meet and chat with him both times too and I can honestly say as genuine as he seems on camera he is 100 times more genuine in person. Can't wait to do it again this year!

To do Dan Seals on this song is hugely brave, in my opinion. He's very brave to try....and it TOTALLY works! Dan would be proud. Way to nail it, JP.
