This guy brought me out of a Great Depression of my own making at one time. The beautiful songs he made in The Civil Wars got me through a spinal cord replacement
You're one of the only singers who could pull off Jeff Lynne's classic... (One of his #many) Oh, How I Love ELO and you !! Makes me want to be a better me... Nothing Better in Life, is that passion, live music brings out, when it's done with such confidence Bravo JP ♡x
Saw this in a drizzle at HSB years back and already a TCW fan, whom I also saw there earlier (unbelievable), this plaintive show blew me away. Unforgettable. TY JPW.
Thanks for doing justice to one of my favourite Jeff Lynne/ELO numbers and for keeping the melody largely intact, while still, to coin an overworked phrase, "making it your own!" I wondered how you were going to deal with the Robin Hood etc. etc. line, but you deal with it masterfully..thanks very much for a great performance..😉👍
I am very partial to the original ELO, as it was on the infamous "mix tape" my first love, friend, and husband made for me, he was crazy about ELO back in 1985 which was kinda bizarre then in the heyday of big hair and I was obsessed with U2. I didn't think I would like this cover, but since my first husband was tragically taken away from me in the blink of an eye in '94, just hearing this and giving it a chance brought tears to my eyes at 50 years old...bravo! I kept that mix tape and our son listened to it and ELO, and QueensRyche like his father, and Jonny Cash like his grandfather...likes a mix of musical styles...sigh...
I love when an artist does such an original take on a cover version that I struggle to place the performer/band who first recorded it. This is so far from ELO that it almost feels like a new song.
JPW, beautiful. I do have to admit that my heart keeps wanting that equally ethereal harmony to come back in with you. ❤❤
Jesus, what a voice
A truly beautiful song matched by a truly beautiful performance
2:37 till 2:43 WOW! Even though the whole thing is WOW... How can people dislike this? Need their ears testing.
Right!!???!!
this cover should be on spotify
I keep begging him to put it out there for us...every time I chat with him. But alas.
It does not get any better than this...EVER.
Was not ready to like this as much as I now do when I hit play. Amazing cover!

What, that's a real thing? Was it a success? I have never heard of this operation before, I hope you're ok? 😇💜🌷🌻🌲😎
pro trick : you can watch movies at Kaldrostream. I've been using them for watching loads of movies recently.
@@stardustgirl2904 😉🤪🌈🐈⬛☠👀🤠 no its not, I was drunk, on pain meds, and exaggerating. But I did have my discs fused and one was replaced.
@Jett Anderson definitely, have been watching on KaldroStream for since december myself :)
@Jett Anderson definitely, have been watching on kaldrostream for months myself :)
Beautiful JPW. just gorgeous. x
I think the repeat button is broken from listening to such pearly music.

Bravo JP ♡x
Oh my, this is just fantastic. It just gets better and better as the song goes on.
Love love love love love - again and again. He sings to my soul.

This song.... I can’t get it out of my head!
You have the most soothing voice of any man I've ever had the pleasure hearing....Thank you for your music. Just Beatiful! 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
Just saw him perform this live last night in Vancouver & I can't get it out of my head. Last song of the night.
Lucky Gurrrl ♡x
What a performance, amazing.
Totally beautiful.
Incredible accustic version of this ELO oldie. Voice is absolutely stunning. Mesmerizing
Seldom does a cover song evoke different emotions from the original one, great interpretation with his original spin. Love his voice!
An even more beautiful song delivered at a slower tempo from JPW's lips.
Why doesn't anyone know about this Treasure of a man? LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
Just WOW - this is beautiful!
Absolutely love his infectious music!
Love, Love, Love this version. JPW - You ROCK!
OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!

Just beautiful! Thank you John Paul ....
Mesmerizing voice.
Can’t believe the views count is so low! A master of his art. 👍🎶
2024 and it's now at 165000. Not too shabby! :-)
he is my musical hero
Look up Dallas Green, he's pretty dang amazing live! He's from Canada, and I have seen him live!
Great performance and a beautiful guitar!
what a great cover ...I'm seeing him tomorrow night in Memphis ! love his voice
Beautifully done. Compelling.
Incredible guitar player, better singer!
The best cover version of this song I have ever heard. His haunting voice really changes the song.
Love the way he did: Robin Hood & William Tell & Ivanhoe & Lancelot-They don't envy me. Great cover -love his voice :-).
Glad I stuck around for "bank job in the city" part...so good!!
I recently saw a live video of him singing this and it was great -- but this is even better
I saw him sing this live. It'll make every ovary in the room explode. LOL.
Mesmerizing

Class!!!!
Absolutely amazing performance.
Damn! Be still my heart!
FANTASTIC!
Great stuff, I loved ELO and JPW voice is awesome.
soooo good!
Mesmerized
what a voice
Double wow! Or quadruple wow!
Good that he's still doing this song (it's from the pre-Civil Wars solo album)
Wow... That's probably a collector's edition. Wish I had one myself. Will have my buddies, try to find a copy !
Beautiful!!!
I love that great E.L.O: song.3
Fantastic!
Beautiful
amazing
Good job. Saved to playlist
Holy Fuck !
Never knew this vid existed.
I need to pay attention !
This may be my favorite vocal from him EVER...and that's a really big deal. It's magic.
Un-f*cking believable. Do you have to be a guitarist to hear the genius in JPW's playing? Amazing.
I love when an artist does such an original take on a cover version that I struggle to place the performer/band who first recorded it. This is so far from ELO that it almost feels like a new song.
❤️❤️❤️
I love that oriental rug lol
hahahahaha. i just laughed so hard.. but me too. ahh grate music nice scenery.
Close your eyes and he'll be right next to you.
I LOVE HIM.
Would love tabs for this.
i did fall in sleep!
It's "Walking on a wave's chicane" according to the lyric sheet.
Anybody knows if his guitar is on standard tuning?
Lyrics?!
He's still in love and he just needs to admit it to himself.
lol wut
I secretly agree with this...what a shame they had to split up, but prob for the best.
I want him! Just one time!
Really Lovely. However, this song, more than any other, really needs an orchestra to get it to the next level.
someone tell me how he plays this
August Lumen with a geetar! Lol
His voice is a beautiful instrument! Just not a distinctive sound?
Get a band Johnny after verse 2 crank it like little black submarines
JOHN SILVER THE COOK XD
sound like Jeff Buckley.
Hes no Jeff Lynne
What a great cover, better version than the original ELO.
His latest album is weak, he doesn't use that beautiful voice and the country I music is lame.
Don’t dig the slower rhythm and stuff, while he’s got a great voice I just wish it he would have covered it more as is. Too much dramatics for me
Sounds like it's missing something.....
Jeff Lynne take notice!!!
