I wrecked my last quad some years ago, it's mind-blowing how far the tech has come since then. I'd like to get back into it with one of these new O3 capable whoops, but I'll have to replace my old Fatsharks as well.
I done really enjoy your videos and no, I have not bought all the quads you presented on your channel :) When you pass an elastic for front to back batteries, you can still twist it and toilet tank the battery. One side comes from the front and the other side from the back. That maintains the toilet :) Lastly a friend made an HDZ 85mm with 1003s and the mob8 light frame. That thing is great fun! For a 1103 fan, I was surprised by the 1003!
Sharp looking quad there. Odd to see bi blades but it looks like it's working just fine the way you zipped through the backyard. Looks way more capable than the last one as far as zoomies go. Very Nice Video ! I wanna buy one. I have a question: So can I fly safe lower then 3.5v how low ? Of course when I bring them home I will charge them up to 3.5 storage voltage. But how low we can go, so no do any damage to the battery ?
I think this form factor is in a transition period. several tiny 75-90mm frames on 2s have a place and should be pretty interesting. I think the eventual winner will be a little more powerful than 1003. maybe 1202 or 1303.

The purple GNB 60c batteries never seem to have a good application. They are suppose to be lightweight option for low draw cruisier builds, but in my experience they never seem to pan out. appreciate the look at this quad setup. Been debating going naked 03 units on my paco pivos, but now Im debating whether or not I want to keep the full build 03's to put on the 5in quads and then get pre-stripped 03's for the picos...
If i get the bnf and i already have the DJI headset already that came with my DJI FPV and i have the controller so cant i just buy the flylens 85 drone ? and the 2s that i need for the drone

I would Love you to compare the flywoo normal O3 with the Mob 8 normal O3, i do Not plan to nakedise my O3 since I plan to swap it occasionally (wing, LR build) I think mob 8 makes swapping relatively easy what do you think about the flywoo in this regard? I agree with you on the durability of the pavo pico, but mine did drop about 15 feet yesterday straight into concrete with no damage. I was definitely surprised.
Thank you for the final comparison but could you also compare it to the GEPRC CineLog20 and Darkstar20 as well as Pavo20? I'm looking for real estate/indoor events drone. To be future proof I'd prefer it to be able to carry bones GoPro that's why I discarded Pico. I care for it to be durable and quiet.
im assuming you are charging your 850 to 4.35? as they are lihv they only get the 850 if you charge them to 4.35. i gotta say that micro quad is quite interesting!
Hi Nick, New B here, l very like the slow smooth flying in and around your house. What is your rate setting with this drone. I have PNP version, using DJI controller 2 with DJI gaggle integra.

I think you said it would at the 1:30 mark, but want to make sure before spending my money since RDQ doesn't do refunds for open boxes. The dji O3 video system can also double for the control link. I too don't have the controller 2, but on paper its compatible. In most cases we need to by the pnp version, but its possible the manufacturer didn't wire the o3 for control link. Best to check the manufacturer to be sure.

Sorry, I'm jacking the thread, but I am frustrated. I have a brand new mobula 7 1s, and I can not get it to bind with the zorro elrs. It says it's bound when I try to arm it, and it says SOMETHING ABOUT RPM FILTER. I DIDN'T CHAnGE ANYTHING. Is my motor protocol set wrong its set to dshot? Elrs zorro is 2.x and drones are 2.x. the meteor 75 works fine. If I had hair I'd be pulling it out.
Sorry is there two problems....binding and rpm filter? For the binding issue see if turning off or on model match in the elrs lua on the radio resolves it.
Hey nick I love the vids, I'm in a boat of buying my fist drone and I want it to be a 2.5-3.5' freestyle under 150, I've seen you've flown a lot in this category rather its th2 freestyle or the tinyape, which one would you mostly recommend out of the ones you have that fit the budget. Thanks
I am not up to date on current pricing for all those meeting that budget. I have to choose between the two listed I suggest the tinyape as they both fly very similarly but the tinyape has a much more powerful vtx to give you more goggle clairity.
So this is a good one! I am not sure if I like the "naked" 03 air unit - that has not been around for that long (as far as I know) so no durability data... is it possible with a standard 03 air unit? Do you have any opinions on the Foxwhoop 25 - the one they claim is indestructible... as that seems like a good feature to have in a quad so it sure would be great if it actually flew nicely. (also, I have one of those so... I am kind of rooting for it!) I am going to look up your review on it but if you have more recent experiences with it good or bad it would be nice to hear about them. I did review the foxwhoop, I crashed it into the chimney a bunch of times. This is much smaller than the foxwhoop series. I am not sure the foxwhoop lineup has an O3 option or not.
Nick, I'm still around the middle of the video, but let me tell you... When I reviewed the Eachine Twig I spent almost 7 minutes, recording nothing, confused as heck because of my batteries as well... I had 2 3s GNB batteries, one 450mAh and the other 550mAh... And the 550mAh was lighter! Either way, I gave up trying to understand back then. You should do the same. 😬
Its hard for me to say with any direct comparison on the same quad. Yes, its worth it to reduce weight on a micro (2inch prop), 5-10 grams less is a big boost in agility and adds flight time. Now the risk is still to be determined. As we see more and more quads with a nake/lite O3 we will know more.
Is it a valid use of this type of platform to fly it with an analog system while using a Thumb or similar for the "good" footage? I mean, that's how lots of people have done it, right?

I wouldn't use the lite radio. Its dependent on betafpv updating the elrs firmware. The jumper T-lite elrs is a better budget option. Otherwise the other parts will work well together.

I have the pavo20 it will be a while yet. The darkstar 20 I don't have. Geprc did make contact but I don't think they got it sent before they went on holidy.

It’s good they sent a card with the flight controller diagram. They had several on their website that had conflicting 5v and G pads which made me blow a crossfire rx. That’s unacceptable, but what can u do.
versions do change and the pad can move around, when looking online we have to look for each pad to be in the same location as our and the overall component layout matches what we have or we have to keep hunting down a matching wire map.
@@Nam_flies_drones yea, its really an impossible task over the course of months or years to gauge which might be more or less loud unless they really standout and if it does I do try to include that in the narration of the flights. Otherwise, I include flight audio from my flying spot in each video for all viewer to try to gauge if they hear the flight differently from one to another.
Those lipos are too heavy for this tiny whoop! 720 mah is probably right at heavy limit where performance is significantly hindered, but it will still fly ok. 850 mah most likely goes beyond heavy limit where flight time increases, so it gets less flight time because it's too damn heavy! Remember, Flywoo ALWAYS recommends ridiculously heavy lipos to up predicted flight times. Dumb! 🤦 Especially on these ultra fragile 85mm whoops that are made specifically for slow cruising video taking. Fly these fast and watch them explode on crash! 🥴 Honestly, this size is too small and too fragile ... that's why it's just for slow cruising for smooth videos! Fly this freestyle and RIP IT, and watch it self destruct on crash! Especially with these stupidly heavy lipos! 💥 KABOOM! 💥 A 95mm, yes just 3/8" bigger, is sooooo much more versatile and durable! Way, WAY faster and you can freestyle it! But, people love to put the best gear on the smallest platform! That doesn't mean it's gonna be good... And especially durable...cuz it's NOT! It's the Smallest...and Most Fragile! That's it! 😮🤔
@@sulkhanamami With micros at the 2inch prop size there isn't an opportunity to mount the O3 inside the body, so its either on top or the bottom. So far I haven't had any trouble with damage to the O3.
Hey ive burnt one of my esc on my tinyhawk 2 and cant order a new one because i dont have any money left, I'm also doing my gcse so its really stressful, i love the hobby and hate the fact that I can't enjoy it could you spare a flight bord or a drone if you have one that you don't use or don't want please. i ve heard flywoo shipping is extremely slow . reports of some people waiting over 3 months before getting their order . if other companies would sell this id be all over it
Those purple GNB HV batteries aren't what they're advertised! I have several 4S "1100mah" HV GNB batteries and they are lighter and perform worse than a Tattu R-Line 850 or CNHL 850. My opinion is that they are a scam.
Well done review, Nick! 😎🤘 Keep in mind guys... For manufacturers it's all about getting the best gear (DJI 03) on the smallest craft. That doesn't necessarily mean it's a great idea... All of these 85mm whoops are very fragile with the 03 camera sitting right out there waiting to be smashed! 😢 Did you know a 95mm whoop is ONLY 3/8" BIGGER? Yup, mm's confuse some. A whole 25mm = 1". So, the next size up is barely any bigger ... But, much more durable, and an unbelievably more capable flyer! Smallest, lightest is great, but it's at the sacrifice of strength and durability. Making ALL of these 85's fragile and made for cruising. You know why the manufacturers saying made for cruising? Because of you try to RIP IT, or freestyle it, and you aren't ultra skilled ... 💥KABOOM💥 I can see many, MANY pilots displeased with the "pile of parts" they are left with after crashing! And I don't think it has to be a very hard crash, either. Fun fact: Did you know some much more durable 95mm whoops with fly on 3S & 4S? 😉👍 (I've used a tiny 450mah 3S and 4S!)
@@DeyRonUSA I don't think they make it any more, but the BetaFPV 95X V3 frame. It's a good design, but I'll admit, a lot of the reason I like it is because its only $15 retail (I got one on ebay, on sale, for $5 ! + $5 shipping). I also think the GepRC frames are superb The Cinelog25 would be my choice. I haven't looked at what they call their latest CineWhoop series, so maybe its good too. Problem is, last time I looked at those that 25 frame was $32 ! Over double BetaFPV one. Other brands were even higher priced. 95X V3 frame is durable, light, and designed really well. Remember, it's a V3, so 3rd design. BetaFPV always takes 3 versions to get it right! Lol SERIOUSLY. Best of luck! 😎🤘
Yes, the as of late dumping on betafpv is nuts. They have pioneered a lot of cool new ideas, and with new comes learning and improvement. I have both frames sitting (95xv3 and pavo25) been contemplating a ultralight 25 mm cinewhoop using c135 since they only weigh 6grams each. If you can get a 25mm below 130 with battery (no external action cam) that may be a sweet spot...
@@DeyRonUSA you're wanting a build like troncat fpv for his real estate cinewhoop. 1303.5 motors are awesome. Unfortunatly hglrc seems to have discontinued them. If you find some, grab a few. Troncat went for 6s.

I ordered one of these yesterday as well as the foxwhoop 35 03 as well. week after buying the foxeer mega4 03 6s and iflight helion 10, which was a week after buying 3 racing offroad rc's at great deals on fb, which was a week after yeaaaaaaaa my hobby room i wish was 2000sq ft lol. over 150k in stuff now.
Whew! Such heavy lipos! Me, I'd be using much lighter lipos to significantly improve performance, agility, handling, and lessen the damage in a crash. I've found that Flywoo recommends some stupidly heavy lipos that are all about making their craft into a fly barge while giving it longer flight time. Barges fly like crap! And we all know "It's all about weight with whoops", so I'd fly this with a much lighter lipos. Fly Like a Butterfly, don't sting like a ... Barge! 🤷🤦 Because the whoop is sooooo much lighter it doesn't get that much less flight time per lipo! But, it flies sooooo much better and with as fragile as these 85mm whoops with 03 are, less damage in a crash is Just What I'm After! Switching lipos is really easy and fast. So more light lipos = more fun & less damage! You guys use your heavy lipos and see how long these Barges Last! Not long, I'll bet! Many report busting up their Pavo Pico's! ... Soon after spending all that dough!😢 😎🤘

That flight time is impressive. I decased my 03 on mob8 and get 3.5-4minutes. It is such a great format for HD whooping.
Try gemfan 2015 props . More efficient. I like the gemfan 2040 most actually. Inbetween 2015 and 2023

That is the me filter I applied during the flight. The hd filter was not fully seated

Those 850's are HVs. They should be lighter. Are you charging them to 4.35?
He doesn't charge multi cell packs to hv....for longevity, he feels.

possible yes, harder than 2s 2inch also yes. most of the 2.5inchers are 4s which makes throttle control all the more sensitive and challenging.

If you connect usb to the drone and launch the betaflight application does the receiver page show the sticks moving when you move them physically?
@NickBurnsFPV I whacked some UA-camrs and found the solution. SWITCHED the wrong buttons to arm and disarm the drone. Thanks mate

On analog due to lower weight and less vtx/camera power draw it will fly longer and more aggressively than the hd versions

great vid. your 720 gmb's have a much higher C-rating than the 850's that makes a difference.

I don't, I wouldn't trust my calipers down to the 100th millimeter which we likely need to ensure proper fit.

darkstar 20 is likely the most quiet if that is the main characteristics.
Everyone says those filters always do that with the reflections and it’s not about it being on all the way

yes, I fly acro nearly exclusively.
Did you need to set the Uart to VTX(MSP) ?. My OSD and arming is messed up on my Flywoo Flylens 85. I'm also using the Goggles 2 and DJI 03 lite
Yes the hd video systems need a uart, be sure it’s wired right. Rx goes to tx and tx goes to Rx

I have had similar experiences with the 4s gnbs, where my 720s consistently gives me better flight times than my 850s. Something definitely seems off.
If you had to chose between the FlyWoo Flylens 85 and the Pavo Pico, which would you choose? One more question... Does it come with DJI air unit 03?
I chose the flylens85. I don’t believe either come with the O3. But they may have added that option post my review

So this is a good one! I am not sure if I like the "naked" 03 air unit - that has not been around for that long (as far as I know) so no durability data... is it possible with a standard 03 air unit? Do you have any opinions on the Foxwhoop 25 - the one they claim is indestructible... as that seems like a good feature to have in a quad so it sure would be great if it actually flew nicely. (also, I have one of those so... I am kind of rooting for it!)
I am going to look up your review on it but if you have more recent experiences with it good or bad it would be nice to hear about them. Cheers
I did review the foxwhoop, I crashed it into the chimney a bunch of times. This is much smaller than the foxwhoop series. I am not sure the foxwhoop lineup has an O3 option or not.
Nick, I'm still around the middle of the video, but let me tell you... When I reviewed the Eachine Twig I spent almost 7 minutes, recording nothing, confused as heck because of my batteries as well...
I had 2 3s GNB batteries, one 450mAh and the other 550mAh... And the 550mAh was lighter!
Either way, I gave up trying to understand back then. You should do the same. 😬

Is it really worth the weight savings vs durability of choosing the 03 lite over the regular 03?
Its hard for me to say with any direct comparison on the same quad. Yes, its worth it to reduce weight on a micro (2inch prop), 5-10 grams less is a big boost in agility and adds flight time. Now the risk is still to be determined. As we see more and more quads with a nake/lite O3 we will know more.
Is it a valid use of this type of platform to fly it with an analog system while using a Thumb or similar for the "good" footage? I mean, that's how lots of people have done it, right?
Sure, its a good option. We have been carry go and go2 on 2inch 2s for several years.

For flat flying I don’t see there much of a difference between o3 lite and not. The difference will be discernible in more aggressive flight

Hey this is off topic from the video but would you recommend the Meteor 75 Pro or meteor 65pro with LiteRadio 2Se and VR03 FPV Goggles for a not that expensive beginner set up?
I wouldn't use the lite radio. Its dependent on betafpv updating the elrs firmware. The jumper T-lite elrs is a better budget option. Otherwise the other parts will work well together.

I have the pavo20 it will be a while yet. The darkstar 20 I don't have. Geprc did make contact but I don't think they got it sent before they went on holidy.

It’s good they sent a card with the flight controller diagram. They had several on their website that had conflicting 5v and G pads which made me blow a crossfire rx. That’s unacceptable, but what can u do.
versions do change and the pad can move around, when looking online we have to look for each pad to be in the same location as our and the overall component layout matches what we have or we have to keep hunting down a matching wire map.

To me they are all loud. To judge the sound over the category would be a large undertaking and audio measuring equipment.

@@Nam_flies_drones yea, its really an impossible task over the course of months or years to gauge which might be more or less loud unless they really standout and if it does I do try to include that in the narration of the flights. Otherwise, I include flight audio from my flying spot in each video for all viewer to try to gauge if they hear the flight differently from one to another.
Must be different HV battery chemistries, but also have no idea what's going on if you HV charged both and got those results.
Those lipos are too heavy for this tiny whoop! 720 mah is probably right at heavy limit where performance is significantly hindered, but it will still fly ok. 850 mah most likely goes beyond heavy limit where flight time increases, so it gets less flight time because it's too damn heavy!
Remember, Flywoo ALWAYS recommends ridiculously heavy lipos to up predicted flight times. Dumb! 🤦
Especially on these ultra fragile 85mm whoops that are made specifically for slow cruising video taking. Fly these fast and watch them explode on crash! 🥴
Honestly, this size is too small and too fragile ... that's why it's just for slow cruising for smooth videos! Fly this freestyle and RIP IT, and watch it self destruct on crash! Especially with these stupidly heavy lipos! 💥 KABOOM! 💥
A 95mm, yes just 3/8" bigger, is sooooo much more versatile and durable! Way, WAY faster and you can freestyle it! But, people love to put the best gear on the smallest platform! That doesn't mean it's gonna be good... And especially durable...cuz it's NOT! It's the Smallest...and Most Fragile! That's it! 😮🤔

@@sulkhanamami With micros at the 2inch prop size there isn't an opportunity to mount the O3 inside the body, so its either on top or the bottom. So far I haven't had any trouble with damage to the O3.

Those purple GNB HV batteries aren't what they're advertised! I have several 4S "1100mah" HV GNB batteries and they are lighter and perform worse than a Tattu R-Line 850 or CNHL 850. My opinion is that they are a scam.

Keep in mind guys... For manufacturers it's all about getting the best gear (DJI 03) on the smallest craft. That doesn't necessarily mean it's a great idea... All of these 85mm whoops are very fragile with the 03 camera sitting right out there waiting to be smashed! 😢
Did you know a 95mm whoop is ONLY 3/8" BIGGER? Yup, mm's confuse some. A whole 25mm = 1". So, the next size up is barely any bigger ... But, much more durable, and an unbelievably more capable flyer! Smallest, lightest is great, but it's at the sacrifice of strength and durability. Making ALL of these 85's fragile and made for cruising. You know why the manufacturers saying made for cruising? Because of you try to RIP IT, or freestyle it, and you aren't ultra skilled ... 💥KABOOM💥 I can see many, MANY pilots displeased with the "pile of parts" they are left with after crashing! And I don't think it has to be a very hard crash, either.
Fun fact: Did you know some much more durable 95mm whoops with fly on 3S & 4S? 😉👍
(I've used a tiny 450mah 3S and 4S!)

@@DeyRonUSA I don't think they make it any more, but the BetaFPV 95X V3 frame. It's a good design, but I'll admit, a lot of the reason I like it is because its only $15 retail (I got one on ebay, on sale, for $5 ! + $5 shipping).
I also think the GepRC frames are superb The Cinelog25 would be my choice. I haven't looked at what they call their latest CineWhoop series, so maybe its good too. Problem is, last time I looked at those that 25 frame was $32 ! Over double BetaFPV one. Other brands were even higher priced. 95X V3 frame is durable, light, and designed really well. Remember, it's a V3, so 3rd design. BetaFPV always takes 3 versions to get it right! Lol SERIOUSLY.

Yes, the as of late dumping on betafpv is nuts. They have pioneered a lot of cool new ideas, and with new comes learning and improvement. I have both frames sitting (95xv3 and pavo25) been contemplating a ultralight 25 mm cinewhoop using c135 since they only weigh 6grams each. If you can get a 25mm below 130 with battery (no external action cam) that may be a sweet spot...
@@DeyRonUSA you're wanting a build like troncat fpv for his real estate cinewhoop. 1303.5 motors are awesome. Unfortunatly hglrc seems to have discontinued them. If you find some, grab a few. Troncat went for 6s.

I ordered one of these yesterday as well as the foxwhoop 35 03 as well. week after buying the foxeer mega4 03 6s and iflight helion 10, which was a week after buying 3 racing offroad rc's at great deals on fb, which was a week after yeaaaaaaaa my hobby room i wish was 2000sq ft lol. over 150k in stuff now.

40 sec into the video and I knew this is not for me. It's loud... super loud.
Whew! Such heavy lipos! Me, I'd be using much lighter lipos to significantly improve performance, agility, handling, and lessen the damage in a crash. I've found that Flywoo recommends some stupidly heavy lipos that are all about making their craft into a fly barge while giving it longer flight time. Barges fly like crap! And we all know "It's all about weight with whoops", so I'd fly this with a much lighter lipos. Fly Like a Butterfly, don't sting like a ... Barge! 🤷🤦
Because the whoop is sooooo much lighter it doesn't get that much less flight time per lipo! But, it flies sooooo much better and with as fragile as these 85mm whoops with 03 are, less damage in a crash is Just What I'm After! Switching lipos is really easy and fast. So more light lipos = more fun & less damage!
You guys use your heavy lipos and see how long these Barges Last! Not long, I'll bet! Many report busting up their Pavo Pico's! ... Soon after spending all that dough!😢
