This is just so beautiful! Pure Imagination is such an emotional, heartfelt song. An amazing piece. And the mashup with Somewhere Over The Rainbow was incredible. You played them beautifully. Also, as someone else mentioned here in the comments, Gene Wilder's nephew wrote a note when he died, you can find it online; amongst other things, it stated: "He was 83 and passed holding our hands with the same tenderness and love he exhibited as long as I can remember. As our hands clutched and he performed one last breath, the music speaker, which was set to random, began to blare out one of his favorites: Ella Fitzgerald. There is a picture of he and Ella meeting at a London Bistro some years ago that are among each of our cherished possessions. She was singing Somewhere Over The Rainbow as he was taken away." I saw your reply saying you didn't know. Why did you choose to play these two songs together? It is a very nice and beautiful coincidence anyway. Thank you so much for this. ❤
Yes, a beautiful coincidence absolutely! I felt the two songs shared so much in terms of musicality, harmony, and also intention that, when I was originally working on the arrangement, one just flowed into the other naturally and almost subconsciously. Like they were a match made in heaven and all I had to do was connect the dots.

I am a Phoenix pianist, and it's very rare that I hear a piece from another pianist that absolutely brings tears to my eyes. This piece did exactly that. I will be playing this arrangement. It is INCREDIBLY beautiful and I enjoyed this immensely. WOW!!!
@@CharlesSzczepanek Hi Charles, currently I am not playing at any one particular venue, I do fill in for different pianists from time to time, but I used to be the house pianist at the San Carlo's downtown Phx, in the Copper Room. Are you a resident of Phoenix?
My dear friend you don't know how much that got into my heart. Yesterday I showed the original Wizard of Oz to my girlfriend and today she showed me the original Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory and both musics would not get out of our heads. You UNITED them... Thank you... Deeply
After listening to this, I have one wish: that you get tonnes and tonnes of friendship and love and healing balm and sweet nourishment for your soul - as much as you are giving your audience through your wonderful presentation of this music!
"Come with me and you'll be in a world of pure imagination..." It's weird how everyone had such a huge imagination as kids but as we got older we lost grasp of that imagination because we were learning to be adults and get jobs and have school, we forgot about that imagination, . I wish this next generation goodluck, and hopefully they can get "Somewhere over the rainbow," and never lose their imagination
It's definitely harder to keep that imagination alive as adults... so many things that just 'get in the way' ... I like to call them all 'adulting' haha. I think we can all keep at least a little of it if we can just spend 5 or 10 minutes each day meditating and clearing our minds. It's amazing what the brain can come up with once we get it to stop thinking for just a little bit!
This video makes me very calm when i have trouble. Makes me smile when I hear it,making me happy and calm, making me wanna here it more. It makes me forget the bad things that are happening, makes me remember the happy moments.
For sure! I use an app on Apple called SeeMusic. You can find it in the app store to download. I do the visualizer in that app, and then export that and sync it with my actual top-down video and recorded audio in DaVinci Resolve.
Your music is truly romantic and beautiful. It literally took me out of this world for minutes. You pour your heart and soul into it, that's why it is wonderful, right on ❤
Hearing this wholesome and peaceful rendition puts me in a quaint trance. What a stunning piano performance :) "Come with me And you'll be In a world of pure imagination Take a look and you'll see Into your imagination We'll begin with a spin Travelling in the world of my creation What we'll see will defy explanation If you want to view paradise Simply look around and view it Anything you want to, do it Wanna change the world? There's nothing to it There is no life I know To compare with pure imagination Living there you'll be free If you truly wish to be"
I am just getting into learning how to play the piano and reading sheet music, and THIS is what inspires me to keep learning. I can’t tell you how badly I want to be able to express myself with the kind of intense emotion you’ve played with here. Absolutely stunning, thank you so much.
Hey, mate, this is buuuutiful beyond words. Usually performers focus on sounding jazzy, and the dream gets lost in all that jazz. YOU keep it classical, give it soul and make listeners take off into the world of dreams. Real class. Djenkujem barzo..
You are truly a very talented pianist! I have watched all your videos quite a few times. The emotion that you put into your work shows that you are very dedicated to what you do.
Amber, this megalomaniacal, faux-Liberace is mediocre at best…check out Volodos, Cziffra, Horowitz, Richter, Zimerman, Papazian, Argerich etc to hear ACTUAL PIANO WIZARDRY.
It's just incredible the power that music has; all the emotions it can hold. This is honestly what I aspire towards, making music that can make someone genuinely feel something
Wow, you are absolutely amazing. The amount of emotion you play with.... it’s absolutely beautiful. I felt the soul of this piece right through the screen. Wow I could only imagine getting to hear this in person. The amount of chills...Just absolute perfection. Thank you.
I’m lost in a beautiful place where there is no need to breathe because this took away my breath. Pure imagination. The rainbow makes me feel the pure ecstasy of tears. You are so beautiful.
I played this for my budgie (pet bird) at bed time and he loves it, so do I! And I almost drifted off to it. He was mock-whistling along to it (no sound as he is shy, ive only had him for two days) but any sort of piano-esque music ive found brings him out of his shell a little bit. Thanks for this amazing piece of music, its gonna help my baby budgie open up to me alot more.
He is probably THE most underrated musician on this platform! His arrangements are amazing! Only 5k subscribers? I am telling all my friends about you!
No piano like a Mason and Hamlin. Just listen to the fabulous ring time that piano has! And even better in the hands of a great pianist. Beautiful work, Charles.
Yes, I do play. I have two M&H pianos--One is a 7 ft. BB, the other is the smaller A. I don't record much, but I certainly play a lot around town! I'm an orchestrator of musicals (7 so far), and write many arrangements for choirs and orchestra (www.sheetmusicplus.com/search?Ntt=loguerhythm) I also really enjoyed your 5/8 arrangement of Carol of the Bells
Awesome stuff, Karl, thanks for sharing the link. Do you have a favorite or two of your arrangements you could point me to? Orchestration has always fascinated me... I haven't had many opportunities for it. The M&H BB is great. I haven't had a chance to play an A, but I've definitely played a few AAs that have been wonderful also. They have really amazing bass response for how short they are! I never thought to comment until now. You have given me hours and hours of pure enjoyment and an incredible sense of being home when I hear imagination, which I listen to before pursuing anything else on ytube for the day. THANK YOU, so much!!!!!!!❤
I’ve been feeling quite emotional today (I learnt my uncle passed this morning). Now for some reason today I also got the strong will to sit back down in front of my piano, and learn something for him - especially for my grandad, his brother, who hasn’t been quite so well lately either. I want to make sure my grandad hears me play one last time, and its better sooner than later. That was one of the hardest lessons to learn so far - don’t take time for granted. My uncle was told he had 6 weeks to live - we were going to call him this weekend. Afterall, even then he was supposed to have 4 weeks left. Except he didn’t. This video has really touched me, and the sense of community and magic it’s brought about is bringing me to tears. I’ve just learnt ‘somewhere over the rainbow’ for him, and this video really got here at the perfect time. Thank you.
Sasha, I'm so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing so deeply with us here. I'm glad to hear you are bringing music back into your life, and I'm honored to have been part of the inspiration for you.
I can’t finish this because I’m already sobbing, but from what I heard, this is amazing. I’ll be back when I can watch the rest and I’ll make an edit. The edit: So I finished it, and I don’t understand how this is so underrated! It’s magnificent, it truly is. I really love your work! ❤️
Just told my boyfriend these two songs give me the same indescribable feeling and then I found this! You are delightfully talented ❤️ Throughly enjoyed this. Will be back when I need to feel something again
I’ve listened to a lot of arrangements like this on piano before where they mash songs up, but yours is by far the most incredible. Not only do the two pieces compliment each other in an amazing way, but you put so much emotion into it. This arrangement made me do something I rarely do; stop and just listen and enjoy the music. There’s so much passion in it and so many different colors in the music that blend so perfectly! Amazing job!!!!
Cole Luthe thanks so much! In a world where 5 and 10 seconds is a normal amount most people listen, 7 minutes is a heck of a commitment! I really appreciate you listening and taking the time to share your thoughts. And I’m glad you like what you heard!

This song alone and by itself, is worth fighting to preserve western civilization which grants us this most sublime music and the piano and the minds to which their creation can be contributed. I stand with you and with all that is good in life. More of this and less destruction is my humble plea and my simplest prayer to the G-d of our fathers and of the mothers who bore us in love. He is the reason. He is all there is. This music is proof.
Very rare that I get goosebumps listening to someone play music. However, your passion definitely pours and blends itself into the music that you create. You're an amazing pianist and it's very clear you love your craft. Passion for what one does is the difference between being good at something and being amazing at it; you're amazing. Anyways, thanks for sharing this with us!
Experiencing a deep inner conflict within right now. I must stay hardened within. Hardened to the hard ways of life! I must have that metal inside! Or else give it up! And yet. This softens me. My knees...they are awobbling...what--what do I do? Noooooo! Yeah, beautifully played. And the first woman to suddenly walk up confused me. Most welcomingly I might add. And when the others soon followed, I couldn't help but smile ❤️
@@KalvinKosha for sure man! Thanks again for the listen here. I’ve been playing since I was 3 and took lessons every week for… around 20 years. So I’ve put a lot of time into it!!
funny story, i looked this up thinking nothing would show up because i thought these songs would go well together. turns out its a real thing, and now I'm in orbit by how good it was! amazing job!
This is a really thoughtful arrangement! I also wanna say that your sound engineering is fantastic, your piano sounds so warm and broad. Lots of people have too much room noise or reverb or the bass overwhelms the melody but this is really fantastic. Kudos :3

Dear Mr Szczepanek, I write you from France. Sorry for my English language. I have discovered you, a few time ago. You're a marvelous person. When you play, it's like an another world, your face is illuminated. I'm very ill for a long time but when I listen you, the magic of your music makes me feel like other people. Please, Mr Szczepanek, continue to play for a long, long time. Best regards from France. Patricia
Language has cut a great divide through time for humanity, but music is the great unifier-gifted from above; soothing the savage hearts of untamed souls, it uplifts, brings peace and stirs passion. It delivers one to a place of pure imagination, somewhere, over the rainbow of our separate journeys, where we are joined by the better angels of our nature. Thank you, Charles Szczepanek, for this symphony that connected us. Thank you, Norman Maclean, for the reflection. Like waters, I am haunted by music. Thank you President Lincoln. Your words have always inspired me. Thank you, Jesus Christ, my Creator, Lord and Savior: for your sacrifice that delivered me to eternal life!
Can you picture a world of pure imagination A world of no more sorrow and no more pain Can you imagine everybody having a roof To hide away from the rain Can you imagine no more hunger, no more thirst Where everybody sees a smiling face And the sun is always shining Down upon that beautiful place Can you imagine reuniting with those once lost Those you thought had such a final fate Embracing just like you always had On streets of gold with pearly gates Can you imagine a song that never ends A song of beauty evermore Like the touch of summer wind Rolling off that pearlescent shore Can you imagine that forgotten valley Across the ocean and over the rainbow Where all the streams and rivers Of milk and honey flow Can you imagine not having to imagine A place where you shall never grieve That place is waiting for you Just to say the words, “I believe”
Yes I did, thank you very much. It's only reflected off the beauty you created here, truly a masterpiece! Thank you very much for posting this video, it brought me to tears@@CharlesSzczepanek

I am a Phoenix pianist, and it's very rare that I hear a piece from another pianist that absolutely brings tears to my eyes. This piece did exactly that. I will be playing this arrangement. It is INCREDIBLY beautiful and I enjoyed this immensely. WOW!!!
Bobby Van awesome, thank you! Where do you play in town??
@@CharlesSzczepanek Hi Charles, currently I am not playing at any one particular venue, I do fill in for different pianists from time to time, but I used to be the house pianist at the San Carlo's downtown Phx, in the Copper Room. Are you a resident of Phoenix?
Bobby Van I am! I work as a music director at a church in Fountain Hills, also do studio work in addition to my stuff online!
@CharlesSzczepanek what church? Is it by any chance corpus christi in fountain hills?
My dear friend you don't know how much that got into my heart. Yesterday I showed the original Wizard of Oz to my girlfriend and today she showed me the original Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory and both musics would not get out of our heads. You UNITED them... Thank you... Deeply
Coincidence? Maybe! But I'm glad you found this and enjoyed it!
After listening to this, I have one wish: that you get tonnes and tonnes of friendship and love and healing balm and sweet nourishment for your soul - as much as you are giving your audience through your wonderful presentation of this music!
That's so thoughtful, thank you!!
Great arrangement and mashup of the two tunes.
Erik C 'Piano Man' thanks!! Awesome to see you on the channel!
Just WOW!!! I am in awe at the beauty and emotion. This needs 7.9 millions views like yesterday!

Thank you, anman! I appreciate you watching AND taking the time to comment!
Absolutely correct as this arrangement is quite magnificent.
This video makes me very calm when i have trouble.

This is legitimately how I would picture the sound of Heaven!
You pour your heart and soul into it, that's why it is wonderful, right on ❤
Thanks so much, Robin!
Hearing this wholesome and peaceful rendition puts me in a quaint trance. What a stunning piano performance :)
"Come with me
And you'll be
In a world of pure imagination
Take a look and you'll see
Into your imagination
We'll begin with a spin
Travelling in the world of my creation
What we'll see will defy explanation
If you want to view paradise
Simply look around and view it
Anything you want to, do it
Wanna change the world?
There's nothing to it
There is no life I know
To compare with pure imagination
Living there you'll be free
If you truly wish to be"
I am just getting into learning how to play the piano and reading sheet music, and THIS is what inspires me to keep learning. I can’t tell you how badly I want to be able to express myself with the kind of intense emotion you’ve played with here. Absolutely stunning, thank you so much.
That's awesome, Jesse! I hope music is a part of your life for a long long time to come!
gorgeously played
Thank you!
Hey, mate, this is buuuutiful beyond words.
Usually performers focus on sounding jazzy, and the dream gets lost in all that jazz. YOU keep it classical, give it soul and make listeners take off into the world of dreams. Real class. Djenkujem barzo..
Thanks so much, Mike! It's always nice when cool harmonies don't get in the way of the message in the music! I'm glad you like it 👍
You are truly a very talented pianist! I have watched all your videos quite a few times. The emotion that you put into your work shows that you are very dedicated to what you do.
Thanks, Amber! I'm happy to hear you keep coming back to listen!
Ok, seriously, where can I buy this track? This would be great to ease my mind while doing school work. This along with a few others.
Amber, this megalomaniacal, faux-Liberace is mediocre at best…check out Volodos, Cziffra, Horowitz, Richter, Zimerman, Papazian, Argerich etc to hear ACTUAL PIANO WIZARDRY.
I’m glad there are other musicians who feel Pure Imagination as deeply as it deserves. Beautiful arrangements.
Thanks, R! It’s really a wonderful piece of music!
Every time I hear this song it inspires me, and this time it has inspired me to learn this song myself. Thank you for the cover
Bibby, great! Have fun learning it and share your playing with us too!
It's just incredible the power that music has; all the emotions it can hold. This is honestly what I aspire towards, making music that can make someone genuinely feel something
Thanks so much, Omega! For me, that's what music is all about... the emotional experience.
This is life in its purest form. Thank you.
Thanks for listening and enjoying!!
Wow, you are absolutely amazing. The amount of emotion you play with.... it’s absolutely beautiful. I felt the soul of this piece right through the screen. Wow I could only imagine getting to hear this in person. The amount of chills...Just absolute perfection. Thank you.
Thanks so much, Cleo! I’m glad you enjoyed the music!

I’m lost in a beautiful place where there is no need to breathe because this took away my breath. Pure imagination.
The rainbow makes me feel the pure ecstasy of tears.
You are so beautiful.
Beautiful words, thank you!
Most wonderful arrangement
Simply beautiful...You do justice to the late Gene Wilder and Judy Garland..
Thank you, Thomas!
I'm sure we now all want to see and hear this singing bird! Upload a vid!
@@CharlesSzczepanek its morning time again for me, maybe tonight!
How’s the budgie?

Thank YOU for listening :-)
No piano like a Mason and Hamlin. Just listen to the fabulous ring time that piano has! And even better in the hands of a great pianist. Beautiful work, Charles.
Thanks Karl! Yes, Mason & Hamlins are the best! Do you play? Hope to see you around the channel again!
It's my absolute pleasure! Thanks so much for sharing this!

Just told my boyfriend these two songs give me the same indescribable feeling and then I found this! You are delightfully talented ❤️ Throughly enjoyed this. Will be back when I need to feel something again
Catherine Seymour thanks for listening!! And cool that you like both songs too! I was amazed no one else had put them together!
These songs never age...❤
There is no life I know that compares to pure imagination...
And hearing this... lets me keep dreaming. ❤

This is a fitting tribute to Gene Wilder... when he passed away, his family was playing “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” for him by Ella Fitzgerald.
Laura, I had no idea about that awesome tidbit! Thanks for sharing that with us!
Yes! Thank you for sharing this.
Thanks so much! I’m happy you enjoy the music, and thanks for sharing such kind words :-)
I’m in tears listening and watching this! Absolutely beautiful and moving beyond words! Thank you for lifting my spirits!

Thank you!!! Glad you found this vid!
This is a really thoughtful arrangement! I also wanna say that your sound engineering is fantastic, your piano sounds so warm and broad. Lots of people have too much room noise or reverb or the bass overwhelms the melody but this is really fantastic. Kudos :3
Thanks so much! Also helps to have a great piano to record on too :-)
Finally, a piece that helps me unwind at the end of the day to get some sleep. Beautifully played.

Language has cut a great divide through time for humanity, but music is the great unifier-gifted from above; soothing the savage hearts of untamed souls, it uplifts, brings peace and stirs passion.

Can you picture a world of pure imagination
A world of no more sorrow and no more pain
Can you imagine everybody having a roof
To hide away from the rain
Can you imagine no more hunger, no more thirst
Where everybody sees a smiling face
And the sun is always shining
Down upon that beautiful place
Can you imagine reuniting with those once lost
Those you thought had such a final fate
Embracing just like you always had
On streets of gold with pearly gates
Can you imagine a song that never ends
A song of beauty evermore
Like the touch of summer wind
Rolling off that pearlescent shore
Can you imagine that forgotten valley
Across the ocean and over the rainbow
Where all the streams and rivers
Of milk and honey flow
Can you imagine not having to imagine
A place where you shall never grieve
That place is waiting for you
Just to say the words, “I believe”
