Shout out... and thank you! Just replaced a single glow plug on my LML, #4 due to a CEL. Bought the Genuine GM glow plug (Amazon - GM Genuine Parts 9G Glow Plug - $17/ea) and double checked the print screening (PN & Voltage) were identical, people were warning there are counterfeits on Amazon. Really appreciate you putting this great content up there!

At the dealership you pay $40 for the glow plug and $460 in labor cost. It’s over $500 to replace one glow plug at the Dealer.

I am just replacing all the glow plugs at the same time. And you are correct, the number two plug, the first one on the driver side is not going to be fun. I would love to know what adapters you used to get around the steering knuckle.
My buddy let me use his snap on ratchet and it flexes around it perfectly but I’m having problems getting it out still it’s seized up I believe. That’s why I’m here haha
Theres actually an indicator that lights up on the instrument panel. Turn the key to on, and you will see a coiled looking yellow light come on, after like 5 seconds it goes off indicating the glow plugs have warmed up. This is on my 2013 dmax drw at least.
Ps I've got 248k miles on the factory glow plugs, all towing miles. got the truck new in 2013. I also got 190k miles out of my factory front pads and 206k miles out of the rear pads. Love my dirtymax❤
I have wondered how many guys either never looked at the coil or just did not care and they they wonder why the glow plugs blow.

I was told to disconnect the battery so that the glow plug module and glow plugs don’t short out. Your thoughts. I have a 2015 Chevy 2500 duramax .
Never had that issue but it definitely doesn't hurt to do that

My cylinder 3 glow plug has been bad for a while (I’m changing it today) but the remote start won’t stay on, it’ll run for about 5 seconds and then shut off
Remote start will not work with a check engine light on. It will start, but immediately shuts off. At least with the LMM...

I only buy GM glow plugs from rockauto or dealer. The other online options can be counterfeit. Ask me how I know
