  • After a 25 plus year hiatus, Twin Peaks returned to television with an 18-part series labeled 'The Return.' As with all things David Lynch-ian, many interpretations and theories abound.
This is still the beginning of a conversation that actually got much stranger after I finished the video--There's at least one major thing I discovered on this journey that itself leads to many other threads to be pulled with Twin Peaks that I still couldn't believe anyone hadn't uncovered.
I think the pattern I found in TP is valid, interesting, and leads to questions that go far beyond the fictional world of Twin Peaks.
I believe that the 'collective unconscious' is a real phenomenon--that humans are a kind of hivemind, and that 'grand works' of fiction are a kind of 'prophecy' and that using this description, David Lynch is a kind of modern day prophet--and interpreting this (and many other modern works of fiction) leads to a fascinating conversation I don't think we're ready to have (in public) yet, it seems.
This video still stands as a kind of demo for my skillset, though. I'm hoping that someone will come along before long who 'gets me' and this leads to something else. I don't really have a desire to be a one-man youtube content slave. I think this is ultimately an unhealthy lifestyle, and me saying this here is relevant to one of the underlying 'modern day prophecies' evident in Twin Peaks.
This video continues in Part 2: The Twin Peaks Conspiracy Theory of Everything-- though the format is different. At this time, whatever that means at this point, It's a 3 hour livestream presented as a kind of interactive rough draft for the followup to this video:
    • part 2: The Twin Peaks...
In the future, or in the past, I may (have) go(ne) back and refined that video into a sub-series of polished works--but for now, the long-format fourth-wall breaking format is necessary and somewhat related to the journey that Twin Peaks takes. It's not a road meant for everyone to walk down, and is, in a way, designed to weed out those who won't be able to glimpse behind the curtain anyway.
If you continue to follow this rabbit hole, I promise you will never see Twin Peaks--or maybe anything else--the same way again.
