@combatstory FYI Ryan - There was a study/analysis completed by a Reserve US Naval Officer and former SEAL for USNAVSPECWAR or SOCOM assessing the overall competency and capabilities of USMC Det One after their tour serving under the NAVSPECWAR command. I have read a few articles about it. Pretty interesting evolution, but in summary he spoke VERY highly of the entire Detachment, and made significant mention of the capabilities of the intel side of the Det. Obviously the Force guys kicked ass. I think the guy's name was LtCmdr Mark Devine.

I have met Mark a few times, I was not aware that he was involved in writing a report, but he may well have been.

Served with John at 1st Force. Love his tag line; “Getting better at getting better.” Just a solid, even keeled, operator from the day I met him. God bless you & your family.
    Best wishes on Operation Recovery!

John represents the resilience of standing this unit up with class and humility. I watched another interview with him where he talks about the pushback from the SOF community. They were downright unprofessional in their treatment of Marsoc. Glad he saw it through!

My recruiter in 1996 was Gysgt. Steve Minnix (Master Guns Ret) in Logan, WV. He was a 1st Force Recon stud. He didn’t get the credit for me, too young, still poured into me. He went to run SOTG and retired from 6th Marines. Great story! S/F

@@sarc88no kidding! BAMF for sure! I was the last he began the process with before transitioning to the new recruiter. He was a giant to us, zero BS, zero PC, brutally honest and the alpha among other branch’s recruiters. That drew a bunch of kids to him big time. I remember showing up to a run with a coke and a snicker bar for “energy.” That went about how you would think it did. 😂

It’s so funny that your recruiter was out to lunch when you went to talk to him. The exact same thing happened to me in 1977 when I went to join the Navy and he was out to lunch the army recruiter, who is right next-door, snatched me up by the scruff of my neck and then enlisted me in the army. Don’t take that as being a negative thing I had a good tour in the army.

Where is part 2???? You lose so many views by breaking the parts up weeks at a time….
Look at any Part 1 and Part 2 views and date upload combo…119k views part 1….a month+ later part 2 uploaded, 20k views….by the time the 2nd or 3rd part is up…everyone has forgotten about it…so many UA-camrs make this mistake…upload the video parts in succession, a DAY apart tops and even that’s pushing it……do that and you will retain the crossover views and have happy subscribers ;)
