I snagged the UK collectors edition steelbook with da box. Great release and I agree with Russ on the New Line thing, that's the only way this gets remotely better. It arrived immaculate because of that WB box. That needs to be the standard for shipping.
Lastly the elm street score is by far the most sampled score in music. I have heard so many songs that riff or flat out sample the many different songs off the movies soundtrack so I have no idea what you mean by this being at the bottom of scores for horror. It is easily the most recognizable just for the fact that everyone has taken from it to make a song. The ghetto boys by far had the biggest chart topping hit that sampled the score but so many others have done the same. Only Halloween will I put above it
@Thecatdrums3 I'm a Geto Boys fan and have never heard them sample it... not saying they didn't, what song? Fresh Prince did... which almost gave us a House Party movie with him and Jazzy Jeff (New Line was going to sue them, and they settled by saying they'd star in a movie for them that never happened). Was it a mixtape or bootleg release?
I pre ordered this Amazon UK special edition on day one and it still hasn’t shipped. Still says it’s coming but I have my doubts. I did get the US steelbook so not a huge deal if it doesn’t arrive. I thought the transfer looked good, this was always one of my favorite horror films. To me the scariest part is the characters trying a million things to stay awake.
This is the horror movie where the figure of the deadly boogeyman evolved into an unstoppable force of pure carnage that liked to taunt his victims in a sinister manner!!!
One of the pictures on the laserdisc is of the letter WB sent wes craven telling him they won’t make his movie becuase they don’t see potential in it and slapping that same logo that denied to fund wes film now proudly owns it sucks a lot tbh. 😂 at least they released the uncut version but the LD has those scenes as a feature so it good I can watch it as was meant
It's one of the best horror movies of all time. The concept itself is so scary and original, and the acting is great all around. The score is iconic and it has the best kills in the entire franchise.
I live in Europe and I can tell u my collector's edition didn't come with Warner Bros packaging and also the steelbook had the same art as the box cover art.
The 4k is not the best. I found my laserdisc my elite entertainment had more features & better audio but seeing what is a good transfer is nice but I know it easily could’ve been done better from a better company

I picked up the 4K Steelbook. Was very impressed with the picture and the surround sound was solid for what the movie was.

Minor gripe, but I can't escape it... Freddy is forever New Line to me.

I prefer the score in the 2nd film than in the first.
The opposite side is the Turkish poster though I am surprised it's not the UK poster!
