Khun said that he had his own reason to help Maria instead of his full biological sister but never mentioned what it was.
There is also rumor that Maria betrayed Khun after he helped her becomes princess and he was discarded from Khun family later. That is not true, Khun helped Maria willingly and everyone thought they were lovers but what on we seen Khun really does not regret helping Maria. He must have some good and valid reason and he also never griefs his sisters death which means something happened that he did not reveal.
