I tried but failed to tolerate Retin A 0.25% for 18 months, the constant heavy peeling was horrible. But after watching you apply moisturiser I realised I wasn’t using nearly enough. 8 weeks of slathering Cerave on with a trowel am and pm and success! Using retin A twice weekly and almost no peeling. Thank you for all your fabulous advice. Very best wishes from the UK 😀

That Cereve ultra light matte spf 30 is amazing if you do not in the least want to feel like you have anything on the face. They nailed this formula. I was wearing Neutrogena hydroboost clear gel spf 30/50 but my daughter said you could feel it. You can but in a soft subtle way. You feel moisturized. I scour the spfs and came upon the Cereve Ultra Light moisturizer SPF and they finally nailed a formula for those like myself and my daughter. It absorbs, isn’t greasy or leaves a film behind, so you do not even know it is on. Highly recommend! Matte finish is more like demi matte, not to drying at all like a lot of “oil absorbing” spf like the Cetaphil.

To the lovely Dr. Dray in watching your videos and binge watching older ones you have successfully convinced me to cut WAY back on the amount of skin care products I use in my skin care routine. I fell in to the rabbit hole of needing, which now I know are unnecessary and ineffective, way to many products in my AM and PM skin care routines. I went from 8 steps in the AM to 4 and from 5 to 3 in the PM. I will use up what I have so as to not waste my hard earned money since they were so expensive but thank you so much for putting good skin care in to perspective and helping to dispel all the myths out there that some "beauty influencers" would like us to believe.

Dr Dray-thank you for mentioning lupus when discussing your sun protective clothing. Accidental exposure to uv light can trigger a lupus flare up. Sun avoidance is key.

I am loving the Pyunkang Yul. I also keep it simple with my Cereve AM and PM with my tretinoin but I’ve been able to incorporate the products three times a week or so, mostly in the AM. I’ve noticed a definite change in my 57 year old skin. Hydration yes, not sure about a brightening, but my skin looks more smooth without makeup. I wear very little make up, so if my skin looks good, I’m happy.

Thanks for reviewing the Cerave lotion for oily skin. Ive been using it and i really like it because I have oily acne prone skin and it leaves a nice matte finish and i don't follow it with a powder foundation anymore as a result. You're right in that it goes on easily and feels very good!

I would love a video all about popular non-surgical skin treatments that are offered at “medical spas”. Things like photo facials, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, PRP treatments, pixel laser resurfacing, etc.

I love that cerave ultra light lotion. After I turn off the shower, I apply a little hado labo gel cream, then a layer of the cerave. I've never had much success with the classic hyaluronic acid serums like Hada Labo, which I've felt like they dehydrate my skin more than anything. But the PMA just seems to actually hydrate my skin.

I Iike using Cerave ultralight on my neck. I doesn’t leave a white cast or transfer to my winter coat/scarfs... it’s cold in Chicago! :) It’s a great sunscreen for layering. I save the zinc/titanium sunscreens for my face. Have a great week!

Sarah Henderson Great idea. I have been noticing the EltaMd tinted face sunscreen has really been staining my cowl neck shirts and my winter jacket. Freezing cold here in Northern MN also!

Hi Andrea! I love your channel! I bought the face cover and research gloves for driving and laugh at the weird looks I get but I am pale white in San Antonio so I need all the help I can get! Lol
I was wondering what your professional opinion is on whether to start to use retinol and other specific anti aging agents for people in their mid-twenties? I use sunscreen every day and I have heard that starting retinol at too early an age can actually damage your skin. I love your channel and would really appreciate your input, maybe even if you could make a video on it! If you already have sorry! I also was wondering about products that supposedly heal UV damage or spots. Do those truly work??

Hi Dr Dray! Thank you for mentioning Lupus patients and skin care! Are there any everyday body sunscreens that you recommend for lupus patients? I read that Plaquenil and methotrexate can cause hyperpigmentation, is there a way to avoid that?

Thanks for the pyunkang update! I haven’t tried anything yet. Still working on simplicity 😉although I may try the moisture ampule in lieu of the hada Labo gel cream when I finish it. Is there a certain minimum percentage of titanium and zinc dioxide we should be looking for in our suncreeens? Always curious about how much is needed. Thank you!

I started the 7 step method you showed because I literally saw a difference In your skin. I love it but much like you I will pare down to my faves. I feel like the peeling gel is called that because the actual product peels or pills up . I feel like it feels like a wonderful soft exfoliant .

I make a paste of coconut oil, tumeric, ginger, cinnamon and black pepper and store in my fridge to make golden milk at nights. I put in my coffee in the morning sometimes, I think it tastes really good! Adds a little sting 🤠

My skin stings with most of CeraVe's products, but I don't have any issue with their Ultra Light SPF 30. I love it! It is expensive, so I use Eucerin's SPF 30 on my neck and ears because it's a lot cheaper, and just use the Ultra Light SPF 30 on my face. I will try out the Canmake Mermaid UV Gel!

Hi Dr. Dray, I have been using the Cerave AM and PM creams and like them very much. I am getting ready to order a skin routine for what I think I need in the Pyunkang Yul and wasn't sure about including the peeling gel as I feel I have sensitive skin, but I am so curious about it that I may do it. Thank you, for your vlogs as my skin looks and feels great!

Too bad the mermaid gel isn't cruelty free but not many Japanese brands are. It's always nice you see your beautiful mom and sweet Tybee. Thanks for another nice vlog. I appreciate your work.

Ive been enjoying the Pyunkang Yul Nutrition Cream. The sample of the Moisture Cream left me so dry but I haven’t had that issue with the Nutrition cream. I will say though that despite the thickness of it, it’s only a medium weight cream. It’s not enough for me at night and doesn’t compete with something like the Belif Moisture Bomb for dry skin but I enjoy how soft it leaves my skin.
I get some stinging from the Cerave Hydrating face wash and I don’t have sensitive skin or experience stinging from any other brand. But I like it for dry skin and know it’s not actually causing issues so I still use it.

Another thing is that I do buy mine from EBay from reputable sellers and have decreased my price on it by a couple bucks. Longer shipping but not too too bad. Off Topic: Dr. Dray, I would love your thoughts on the carcinogenic analysis - whether to go alarmist or whether to simply trust Cosdna 's analysis on the compounds here; _Handbook of Cosmeceutical Excipients and their Safeties_ by K Y Heng, T Y Kei, K J Singh, Li Hairui, Poh Ai-Ling, K Lifeng.
