Once you’ve started listening to brands such as Polk, klipsch, monitor audio etc, your conventional brands just doesn’t cut it any more.
The polk sounds better from the definitive for my taste, I must say I like the dynamics of the RP600-M and the PSB also sound damm good. Very good comparison
I cant help but rub on my R 200s lol 😆 especially to dust them off I tell myself but sometimes I catch myself just wanting to touch them . I have the black pair. Wonderful speakers and incredible sound.

Awsome shootout, just bought the polk r200 to use with my cambridge a61, hoping they sound like yours did in playback. If they do, I will be an extremely happy camper.
Def Techs can sound very dynamic, nice bottom end and mids but they require alot of power from a good amp. The Polks have been stated to sound near their best even with lower powered amps. Easier to drive. I had the SM 45s and while darker than Focals, were very dynamic and pleasant to listen to on more expensive/powerful amps than lower powered ones. With lower powered amps, the SM45s came across as not only darker but more lifeless.
Seems to me, and take it with a grain of salt,that R200 vs D9 - the R200 is more revealing/transparent while the D9 is a darker sounding speaker. R200 vs MA - the MA upper mids/highs are more aggressive, maybe tuned for home theater emphasis but a bit aggressive for music. R200 seems to outclass, be a steps above both P5 and FR100 in detail/separation/resolution/dynamics. R200 seems like a good option at its' price point. I had the MA Silvers in my system and while a very good speaker, well built, and I got it cheaper than the R200 being discontinued, I felt its' musical performance a bit aggressive in the upper mids and highs compared to my Focal 807Ws that have tight but less bass, great mids and nice open and airy highs, delicately provided when called for while the Silver 100s threw it all at you. If the highs came closer to the Focals with less/more controlled sibilance (the 807Ws aren't that bad but noticable at times) it might be a good trade off. I'm looking for a smaller speaker but also don't want to lose the resolution I am getting now. Absolute detail and resolution isn't as important as sufficient detail and resolution as I've heard more resolving speakers that left me cold and emotionless. So, perhaps the R200s are an option, albeit a more budget and possibly a downgrade in some areas?

I'm planning to buy Polk Reserve series R600, R400 & R200 or R100 for my Home theater system, right now I'm using Polk RTiA7, CSiA6 & RTiA1 with Polk DSW Pro 550 Sub. What is your take on Polk Reserve series is that will be wise decision to upgrade with Polk Reserve series...!!! Waiting for your suggestion, Please reply.

Its hard to say what my favourites are because there are so many. But if you had to ask me to pick one set for ever it would be MK. As for a sub to pair with the polk i would say HTS 10 or 12

These polks sound great, from just hearing your demo, can hear good separation in the instruments, lots of detail

The Polks are on sale now. Just picked up a pair of the walnut R200s for $578 (tax/s&h incl.) Only 3 hrs in but they are great sounding speakers.

The woofers great but the real magic is the Tweeter.

The Klipsch aren't as efficient as they say but they come across as louder by a bit. More like 2-3 dB higher in room than the PSBs, IMO.

I purchased r100 for surround speakers. Is it possible to wallmount? Will it sound good if wallmounted using brackets ?
