  • After many years in the diaspora and starting to think of retirement back home ,we ,(my wife and I) started to brainstorm different ideas.
Visit our website , www.ruwaorganicfarm.com, to sign up to the mailing list so that you are notified as soon as we have new products and services
We settled on free range organic chicken farming! 🥚🐣🐓😍. We will also grow organic vegetables.
We have lived in the United Kingdom for just over 20 years with our five children who were all home educated.
While living in the U.K we became very aware of food standards because food was not the same as what we had left behind.
Very early on we started buying organic food and wild fish. We would like to continue on this path of healthy eating and growing our own food.
The chickens will be pasture raised. We are implementing a permaculture farming method.
We will also be using the regenerative agriculture approach to help the soils get all the necessary nutrients.
We bought the land which had lots of gum trees which took a lot of nutrients out of the soil. We need to add these back using the regenerative agriculture approach.
We will use this platform to share information we learn along the way.
There was a pond on the farm which has dried out but we need to revive it as part of permaculture farming.
    What is permaculture?
It involves taking care of the earth and working with it. We will be using systems like rain capture and solar systems. Trying to be off grid as much as possible.

Actually the question should be why is Wode Maya NOT being paid to promote African countries. He is rewriting the narrative of a continent, our children now have an authentic reference point to embrace modern Africa.

I agreed with you Michelle Oworu, African leaders will pay someone from any western countries to advertise the continent.
They will never pay another African to do the same thing that westerners is doing.
That to show you how some Africans are ignorant and don't do their own research.
Don't they know that he gets paid by UA-cam, so this is a nonsense question to be asked.
If he is getting pay so what, don't he deserve to be pay?

AFRICA has always had a bad reputation and has been disrespected, undermined, and abused for centuries. When will we learn to see through the lies. Our homelands and it's people will always be discredited by the enemy. We around the world need to come together and learn to love each other and support each other. Stop being fooled by the media. How I personally believe Woda Maya should not be asked for visa to travel across Africa. Cause the guy is doing a great job and we can all see how beautiful Africa is through his lens. Off cause struggles are always there but perseverance is the key. I'm ashame how we sometimes treat fellow Africans, aware or not and I'll like to see him come to Botswana 🇧🇼 , tour the Kalahari Desert, Okavango and the largest Salt Pan. BTO will for sure support you and I'm also ready to assist where possible.

Thanks to Woda's videos! See all of it's hidden gems and get lost in the most beautiful place on the planet. Thanks to Woda's videos! If Woda is paid, SO WHAT! Elected officials are paid and their not doing an eighth of what this young man is doing for their own respective countries, so for those who seem to be concerned about the young man's pocket, go and get a life! Lousy immigration officers at some of these borders are paid with your tax dollars and they do far more bad than good with their behavior. Aya Maya!

So glad you've told your story Wode Maya. As far as I'm concerned even if you were paid you would have earned it. You have done what the tourist board has failed to do. Instead of using the opportunity to colloborate they avoided him???? Our people are so short sighted , good at missing the boat at the end of which they blame others!! I'm not Zimbabwean but because of Wode Maya this country is now on my bucket list.

im happy that he made the video bcz personally I try to inform people in South Africa just how beautiful Zim is and right immediately you can see that due to how misinformed they're, people judge you or even attack you saying"then why are you here if Zimbabwe was so beautiful."and not only that, there are also some Zimbabweans who are misinformed about their own country that if you told them anything positive/beautiful about their own country, you won't get any confirmation rather they look confused or shocked 😓

I've lived with Zimbabweans while staying in South Africa and I know for a fact that some of them can be vicious yet there's also a good majority are civilized and hardworking ones.
Sorry for the negativity but evidently, what was meant for evil has turned out beneficial and as you say, it's the end results that matter

I think one needs to examine all the other details and do the probable maths. The "devil" is in the detail.
I will assume the following trip cycle:-
      1. Wode Maya was driven around by the same guy (around Harare - Mana Pools-Bulawayo-Masvingo-Nyanga)
      2. He was probably driven around for at least close to 2wks.
It looks like the charge was slightly lower if not almost equal to what the car-hire companies would have charged [if he had hired their cars (minus driver)].
So that charge is not excessive in that context. That is what I have paid, for a double-cab 4x4 car-hire pick-up (provided by the regular car-hire companies) for about that period when I visited Zimbabwe. In saying this, Wode Maya probably expected some sort of a token charge. But that is not the psyche in Zimbabwe and I have gotten to understand the thought process. Zimbabweans will behave like that and I sort of understand why.
All the people howling "Exploitative" couldn't even have offered to drive him around for "free" for just a day. Imagine if the UA-camr community/like-minded had pooled their resources (a bit of fuel from each and the time to help him around) to facilitate this, how easier it would have been for Wode Maya. That will not easily happen in Zim because the average person struggles for their subsistence and for other reasons I will not include here.
Zimbabwe is certainly beautiful. But this is part of the "ugliness" which one will also find. Let us not just comment flippantly, from reasons derived from simple assumptions.
