That’s a good start! We see now who is the pro in that household lol! Joking! Awesome trip y’all! Can’t wait for those bigger ones to start showing up soon!
Haven’t been surf fishing in too long. Nice vid, I need to get into some pomp’s soon. When I was surf fishing I marked measurements on my pvc sand spikes with a sharpie.
Where are the speckled trout and redfish? I've been watching videos for surf fishing in Alabama and it seems that no catches trout or redfish! Here in Louisiana if you go to Grand Isle which is where most Louisiana residents fish the surf there are trout and redfish everywhere! Just curious?
Just had Pompano fried yesterday and it's delicious.. Love eating its fatty belly and crunchy bones... Catch and eat even better.. Is it beach close to Florida?.. Thanks for video
Awesome day sir! What part of the beach (Gulf Shores/Orange Beach/Fort Morgan) can you guys fish this time of year, and not be bombarded with sunbathers by 10? I live in Daphne, AL, and I take my boys as often as I can, but I don’t know where to go to avoid the heavy congestion. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I love yours AND Matthew’s channel! Thanks!
Thanks Shawn!! That’s a tough thing to find these days. Best thing I could say is go down towards the fort and walk a good ways from the accesses, the crowds haven’t been wanting to walk far. If you’re willing to make a hike you can find a nice secluded spot.
That’d be a fun fight! I use a real light penn prevail that’s 9’ and has a similar feel to it and it’s one of my favorite rods to catch them on. They can get pretty bad here, luckily we have a few spots where we can walk a ways down the beach and get away from the condos and crowds
@@KayakingKennedy I found that one spot on the north end of the island where I'm at, the hurricanes messed our beaches up bad this past year and they have been dredging and pumping sand onto the beach so its closed a lot of holes, and I bought two of the 9' ugly stiks for the mullet (whiting), pompano, and other pin fish with Battle II 3000's. Then I have a Penn Squadron 8' with Battle II 6000's for the drum and chopper blues we get. Then a Penn 12 rod with a Battle 8000 for sharks. I'm hoping to do well this year and get on some good fish and learn surf fishing. This fall I'm going to the Outter Banks of NC for the red drum run and want some practice first.
I'm moving down there in 2 weeks, can't wait to start my ocean fishing adventures!

🤣🤣 she just tells me how to catch stuff hahaha. Thanks man! They made it here today it seems like!
Kayaking_Kennedy lol
Thanks for the report. That’s one awesome tasting fish. Going to be down there next week sometime depending on weather.
I was in orange beach that day. The fog was ridiculous all day. Nice video. Just subbed!
Man you aren’t kidding! There for a little bit you couldn’t see much more that 40-50 yards down the beach. I appreciate it!!
_Incredible place!_
_Beautiful _*_Fishing_*_ Congratulations!_
_Stay with God!_
Hug!!!! 👍🎣😊
Thank you!
Enjoyed the video!
Thanks Christopher! I appreciate you watching.
I like that orange cart. Where did that come from?

It’s heating up out there for sure! I appreciate it. That’s a pretty good idea!
beautiful pomps, specially the baby one.
They were for sure! Thank you!
It was great meeting you and the Mrs. Today.
Same to you man! I’m sure we’ll run into each other out there again soon. Let me know when y’all have one of those meet and greets
I caught a 3 1/2 lb pompano today. About a hundred yards from you this morning
Nice video I had the same problem Saturday a bunch of small pomps and at the last minute I got 1 nice sized pompano
They are definitely thick! The big ones should be here any day now!
Dude we're going 🎣 for sharks !!!
I’m jealous. All we have is salmon and the sportsmen get screwed because of closures.
Sounds like our red snapper seasons!

Nice, leave the big ones for the Tournament!!!!
For me!
🤣🤣 it’s game on Saturday!
It’s a little baby pomp 😂

Nice! It’s definitely one of the best eaters. Yepp not far from there at all, just across the state line.
Nice dude!
Thanks man!

Thanks for the tip! I've got 12 and 15 year old boys... They'll be my pack mules. Lol. Your awesome bro... Thanks again!
Yeah boss!
Ooh yea!!
What size hooks do you use for pomps?
Hi do you guys get bigger pompano in the USA, where I'm from we get them around 15kgs
Please show the "Salties" rig.
Not sure of spelling, but that's what I heard.
For sure Herb! I’ll make a video on them soon. Check out his link in my description if you’re wanting to see them a little quicker.

Thank you.!!!
Be there in may, what size sinker should I use?
Heck yea man! Just in time for some good wading and casting for trout and reds and still plenty of pomps around!
All depends on the wind and currents, I usually go 2-4 ounces though. I try to stick to the 2s and 3s but if it’s a rough day I’ll go with a 4
Thanks, going salt fishing first time, looking forward to all the food
Nice, good luck! Hit us up if you’re interested in a guided trip, beach or kayak. I can teach you all I know and point you in the right direction!
what road and reel do you use?
My favorite setup is a 6000 penn fierce on a 10’ H2O express rod. I also use a 4500 penn slammer and a 5500 penn spinfisher both on 9’ penn rods.
@@KayakingKennedy thank you
What would one of those pompano feel like on a 9 foot ugly stik gx2?
And how bad do your beaches get with tourists, ours get swamped and you barely have enough room to sit let alone fish.
