    She had 6 years to put together a more believable narrative. Surely she should have remembered her script better by the time she went before a jury. Maybe she should have worn an earpiece .

      Which tends to support my theory that Amber only tries to pretend that she's intelligent. She's not. And her motivations are WAY more obvious to the average interested person. The only genuine emotions that I saw her express on the stand were self-pity, and outrage over social media mockery of her testimony.
      Amber! Read the room! Please just disappear for a couple of years 🙏
      P.S. Did anyone else notice that she NEVER mentioned her daughter in her "statement" to the press? Is it confirmed that she really doesn't have a daughter?

      That's what I believe! They would be paying to eventually lose and they knew that JD's legal team had a strong argument
      The fact that this trial was televised and thoroughly watched by tens of millions was not in their favour
      The briefs were discussed on Law Tube and the attorneys knew they were just buying and wasting their time

      Anyway you could do a deep dive on how Amber’s freeloading friends are all worth at least a million dollars with Rocky being worth 1.5 million. There is no way for anyone to have a net worth of that amount when only in their mid thirties especially when we know none of them have ever held a professional job. How is Rocky the bead maker/part time yoga instructor worth 1.5 million? The rest, Whitney, TO, and Josh all worth a cool million also with no professional work in their life. I don’t believe Whitney has ever worked a full time job in her life. She from my research has only worked occasional part time gigs her entire life yet she’s worth a million dollars. Something is very wrong here. I and others have expressed interest in knowing if Amber is behind their sudden windfall of fortune. Curious minds want to know.:). Thank you-

What she hasn't factored is that with something as big as this has been and as detrimental to so many factions....there will be no redemption.

There are ALWAYS cases out there needing your expertise in the “whys “ and “what fors” of the case. I have soooooo appreciated your insight and thoughts on this case, losing you now would be awful for those of us interested in how our laws and court systems work. Much as I have loved the Heard-Depp commentary, I am very much looking forward to Andrea moving on to new cases. I like her original concept of Depp's ordeal as a "hero's journey"--at the end of which, the hero is supposed to be wiser, and go on to face new adventures, not come back to put in the boot. As a viewer I want to do the same, and leave Amber behind. "Being left behind" is the best fate for her anyway. Also, as a lawyer-viewer, I love best Andrea's courtroom commentary--that is where I learn the most, and where we are getting the direct benefit of her experience. So I hope she soon picks up a new case and starts taking us through arguments and witness examinations.

    Thank you for your breakdown. Amber did not have to use any of her divorce settlement on legal fees apparently. Nor did she donate. The same settlement she would have had without all this nonsense she pulled for all these years. The trial ruined her career which wouldn't have happened if she would have just shut up from the beginning. Her reputation would have been intact and she wouldn't need all this false grandstanding. Yet, she too was a victim of child abuse, like Johnny, lest we forget. See how much it damages people into adulthood? He seems damaged but more tenderhearted for it. She is a sad, damaged person with mental disorders who cannot own up to anything. If her marriage had ended amicably she would have been admired for overcoming her childhood and making it in Hollywood. Instead she created this false abuse narrative and was exposed. What a shame.
    I learned lessons from this: how someone can be a bold faced liar and deny any fault; how the mainstream media slants the news; how the law works thanks to UA-camrs like you, and how the Hollywood life style is not one to be envied. Thanks for your time devoted to this.

    • @annemoore3590
      @annemoore3590 Рік тому +8

      I have my doubts about whether she was as abused as she claims. If you look into her relationships, she is always claiming that her previous partner abused her to her new partner. I wouldn't be surprised if she also made up childhood abuse stories to garner sympathy, or exploit benevolent sexism when she wanted it. Mostly because she seems to have kept a close relationship with her father over the past decade, constantly socializing with him, appearing in photos with him, praising him. If she was as much of a DV "fighter" as she now claims to be, this behaviour is suspect. Given her propensity for fabrication I just wouldn't be surprised if she was actually the golden child, and Whitney the whipped child in the family dynamic. I have no proof though, it's just speculation. I just take her abuse stories with a huge grain of salt.

    • @Necroxion
      @Necroxion Рік тому +1

      This only proves that abuse has no bearing of how much an asshole a person would grow into - only that Heard was already an asshole and would always have been no matter how she was raised
      I've also seen commenters and posters of family members with Borderline Personality Disorder, claiming that they're actually not bad. I've come to the conclusion that Personality Disorders are simply descriptive, at most only heightening the amount of assholery already in a person rather than causing any assholery

      I agree. And also there was a very good, even probable chance that the finding against Johnny and his lawyer would have been thrown out or overturned. She and her minions have hinged her supposed innocence on that, and her settling now doesn't allow that to happen. I still think the Jury didn't quite understand that part. @Jason howe They did go after him at the time! The district attorney of the local Pennsylvania county used his best investigative resources and did not believe it was possible to criminally prosecute Cosby. The DA decided to use his prosecutorial discretion/power to promise that the state would never prosecute Bill Cosby for the allegations, which meant Cosby could never assert his 5th amendment in a civil lawsuit. Then, years later, a subsequent district attorney made a campaign promise to prosecute Bill Cosby and ignored the promise from the prior DA and used incriminating evidence gathered from Cosby's forced waiver of his 5th amendment.

    I completely agree with you about the settlement being good for Johnny. One of the things that has been so admirable about him throughout this nightmare is how authentic he has been, his behavior always matching what he has said. He said it wasn't about the money for him and that he did not wish to bankrupt her, that reflected in this settlement. He has said that he just wants to move forward and put this behind him, that is also reflected in this settlement. He has been more generous than necessary, once again, and continues to show that he has never exhibited the behavior that she has accused him of. So much of this case was about whose words were true, whose actions matched, and over and over again Johnny has proved to be that person. Well done, I'm so happy he is able to start the new year free from her once and for all.

I already stated that I thought this case was about more - about testing the concept of 'innocent until proven guilty", and you put a heart on it, so I think you feel the same. So...
    I have an idea for a show, maybe even a series. With all the malicious litigation that seems to be popping up, could you cover the LAWYERS responsibility to the truth. The SJC Rules of Professional Conduct, the way I have read them, seem to demand that lawyers hold each other to account for breaking those rules - but it is something you hardly ever see happening. Why not? It's not like the 'thin blue line' for cops or medical malpractice where every doctor knows they are going to make a mistake sooner or later. It is an adversarial system that would rather keep the politicians out of it at a national level so I see staying quiet as a net loss for the public, the law in general, and for lawyers themselves. What am I missing? Thank you, Andrea. I hope you get a chance to read this. :)

A couple however, we’re genuinely angry, mad at JD for “letting them down”, that he should have followed through because he was the “spokesperson” for all those men who were also abused. The insurance companies pulled the plug on Amber. There is no way she would want to settle anything ever. She would have been delighted to keep picking at Johnny through the courts. Once Pamela had been dispatched from Travelers they realised they had already paid way too much for this case and had no intention of continuing to pay out. Give Johnny the one million as mentioned in her policy and put a stop to hemorrhaging money. Travelers and NY marine know they would be spending millions more on cases between themselves and on Amber's pointless but never ending appeals. I think Travelers probably think they would lose against NY marine (or get FA) and also lose the ridiculous appeal by Amber. They had been fecked over and they wanted out, so she had to settle. Johnny wants her gone a long long way from him and to get on in his professional and personal life without this hell. While it's annoying she personally isn't paying anything, she never ever would have, there was never going to be any satisfaction from her paying up. Settling is probably the most annoying outcome for Amber, it's over baby and she doesn't like other people telling her when something is over!! So suck on that Amber.

    As far as Amber not suffering any consequences from the fallout of the defamation lawsuit...she's lost her reputation as an actress, for sure. I doubt anyone in Hollywood is lining up to cast her in their next movie - or off-Broadway play producers either, for that matter.

    I'm interested in the case of Jared Leisek, the founder of Adventures With Purpose (AWP). He has been charged with SA against a family member, which allegedly happened in the 90s, when he was a teenager and the child was 9. This is a cause and a UA-cam channel I supported financially, because I really saw the value of what they do. (They use specialized equipment and diving skills to find people who have been missing for years and were thought to have wound up underwater in their vehicles for various reasons. AWP doesn't charge families or law enforcement for their services, but finding long lost loved ones brings closure to the families.) Unsurprisingly, so much mixed information and opinions being flung around, the entire operation in disarray, allegations of improper use of donations, wildly conflicting stories, and some very strange email messages back and forth between Leisek and his alleged victim that hints at a large family dysfunction where the SA was basically more widespread throughout the family and an accepted activity he claims to have broken the cycle of for himself and his family. There was a court hearing in November that was stopped abruptly when it was found that a UA-camr was illegally streaming live from the proceedings. I'm very interested in this case because I was monetarily supporting the organization, believing in the good it was doing, but of course all of this started a side sh%t storm of rumors about the organization, what's happening with money and donations, who is in charge, etc., so I temporarily suspended my financial support. Because ... wtf? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'll be following the case and would love to hear your commentary as this goes on.

    My greatest concern is that Depp seems to have given away most of his leverage over Heard, certainly if you accept her version of the settlement. It feels very much like one-sided disarmament, at a point where he essentially had Heard on the ropes.
    I suppose you could compare it to the scene with the Black Knight in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, where king Arthur graciously offers a draw when his opponent refuses to surrender after losing both arms and legs. However, unlike the Black Knight I don't think Heard will ever be fully disarmed: she will keep crossing the line unless she is swatted down every single time. Like the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park, she will keep testing the electric fences, and at the first hint that the power is down she will break out of her enclosure and go on a rampage again.
    I hope Andrea is right and this is just a face-saving last gasp. Personally, I think this is just the prelude to the extended pity-party stage of Heard's career.

    Happy New Year! I look forward to whatever you decide to cover next, especially since there is so much legal issues in the world. I would love to hear more about cases/people you defend.♥

    Andrea glad to hear you will be looking at the Marilyn Manson case. I am wondering with your criminal law background if you would be willing to cover the Moscow Idaho murder trial as it unfolds ? As a fellow Washington state resident this case is very close to home as 2 if my family members are former graduates of WSU and UI.

    Thank you, Andrea, for your insights and breakdown of the legal processes. I have learned a lot from your channel. ❤️🤗👍 From the outset of the litigation, it seemed to me that Johnny was being dragged down by it. Amber, on the other hand, seemed to flourish when she thought "her truth" was keeping her in the limelight. Thank you for pointing out the "my Truth" to "the Truth"! If she learned only that, it was a good outcome. As JD said on the stand, he will wear the stigma of her allegations for the rest of his life, no matter the outcome of the trial. The Jury gave him his life back, and now he's moving on. Amber is stuck in the past trying to get more and more from JD.

    I’m sure I’m not alone in hoping her insurance companies carry on with their own cases, isn’t it fraud to take out insurance KNOWING you’re going to write something actionable in the near future, I’m sure I wouldn’t get away with taking out insurance against fire damage then setting fire to my house! I feel for the people who will have huge increases in the cost of their insurance policies to cover the massive loss they’ll have taken in the cost of defending her.

      I agree. If I had insurance with both of the companies that she had policies with, I’d be finding coverage elsewhere.

      It's likely she didn't think it would be actionable as Depp was always a private person

    Except for her reputation, AH walks away unscathed - maybe she's liability uninsurable. Still able to spend JD's black widow divorce payout. Who will be her next victim?
