Lukas is picking snails

Using a special picking harness, Lukas is picking periwinkle snails (Littorina Littorea) in the fresh waters of the Norwegian coast.
These snails are exported to countries who appreciate the fresh ocean flavour, including France, Spain, Scotland, Ireland and Belgium.
One of these picking sessions can last anywhere from one to four hours, depending on the weather, location and condition.
These are being picked in the subtidal zone, only occasionally dry following the moon phase, a spring low tide, when the water is at its lowest.
