I am so fucking tired of “unworthy” Thor. Just how many times has the god of salad tossing been unworthy in how many realities.

I mean, by that logic, every superhero and most regular people as well would be worthy. Trying to lift a heavy hammer to save someone's life is something almost everyone would do.
@@samstarlight160 Yes. I also like to think of it as "Temporary Worthiness". At the moment you're saving someone's life, you will be able to lift the hammer. But once that's over, and you start having bad intentions, you immediately become unworthy.
My headcanon is at the moment Tony Stark was ready to snap his fingers with the Stones and sacrifice himself, he was worthy.

Here's the really messed up thing he canonically exists in the MCU. In Thor Ragnarok you can see a statue of his face on the side of the same building that Hulk was living in on Sakaar. Question is what was the reason for that? Was he on the planet when Hulk was there and they just never interacted or was he a gladiator at one point and just eventually left/escaped? They let us know he's in the universe but they don't want to use him for anything yet.
In the Gorr the God Butcher storyline it took three Thors (past present and future Thor) to face Gorr. Think of how sick that would’ve been in Thor 4. Introduce Bill and have him, Jane and Thor take on Gorr.
@@daynejoseph2366I think Thor Ragnarok should’ve ended with Jane surviving but after Thor and Jane are weakened from their fight with Gorr, Beta Ray Bill shows up and mops the floor with them, then takes both their hammers to help his people.

Marvel making it so that Thor's powers can be passed rather than Thor's powers being tied to Thor simply for him being Thor is so stupid.
Going by this logic, can't Loki and other Asgardians pass their powers in a similar manner or was Thor the weakest Asgardian that needed a power-boosting hammer to call himself a God?
He is just as or more powerful than the other Asgardians with only the Odinforce the hammer is just a tool to control his immense power

Rune King Thor was immensely powerful. I'm pretty sure he took out Mangog without his hammer and didn't receive any damage in return. RKT was above Those That Sit In Shadow in power, therefore far above Odin using the Odin force. He was essentially a god of god's at that point.
It makes MCU pretty neat as a Thor. He is the God of Thunder because he is Thor, not because of Mjolnir.
Why do comic writers insist on their characters being incredibly weak all the time?
because everyone complains when they are too strong. and its hard to find the balance. look at superman, he's the most powerful hero maybe of all time in some comics but people complain, give him struggles, people complain. read the comics with the level of hero you want and you will always be satisfied
Because it's incredibly difficult to give strong characters a challenge to overcome. Especially when they only get stronger with every challenge they conquer. If you have Superman beat Darkseid in one chapter, it's really awkward to have him go back to fighting lex in the next chapter.

Firstly, the Collector is an asshat.
Secondly, the writers wanted to raise the stakes and show Thor trying with all his might only to painfully fail, but in their eagerness they forgot that the Odin Force is literal proof of Thor being worthy... that and he logically should have busted his chains and have just beat the Collector

Thor did not have the Odin Force here! Jason Aaron had to retcon everything to make Thor "Unworthy"! His whole run was mediocre at best.Cramed full of various agendas. Jason Aaron was Unworthy to write Thor, Dr. Strange and Thanos.
Truth! Thor could not get the full power of the Odin Force until after Odin's death. During the Unworthy and Jane Foster runs, he could not summon it because Odin still lived. IMO, two of the worst storylines ever!

Jason Aaron retconned Thor. He nerfed his overall power level and made his hammer give him a constant power boost. The hammer was possessed by a powerful cosmic being that randomly choses its next wielder. Nick Fury made Thor doubt himself and caused the hammer to reject him for his weakness and accepted Jane Foster despite her cancer and her overwhelming desperation.

Isn't the hammer a sentient thing? I've heard it explained like that, and sometimes I find it interesting to see how cold or even evil it can be. This is one of those times where I, instead, think the hammer should just be abandoned; I don't think its worthy of being cherished any longer.
I'm pretty sure it can't hear., A being can understand without hearing therefore it's not gonna let him pick up just to save a kid additionally that doesn't even get in to the possible morality beliefs the hammer has

Two things Marvel comic artists love the most: Make Spiderman Suffer, Make Thor Unworthy.
How did the collector capture Thor?
Jason Aaron retconned Thor and his capabilities. During Aaron's run; he made Thor rely on the hammer because of the fact that it was possessed by a crazy cosmic goddess. Nick Fury made Thor doubt himself and caused the shallow and superficial goddess possessing his hammer to reject him and strip him of the power boost that she was giving him. Afterwards he became permanently weakened and unable to wield the hammer again.

This is actually an interesting arc because the hammer the collector has us actually the Ultimate hammer that had been shunted from that reality after the Ultimates universe collapsed. Thor had left his Mjolnir on the moon after Fury whispered in his ear at the end of the Original Sin storyline, leading for it to be picked up by Jane Foster who (at the time of this parallel Unworthy Thor series) was running around as the Mighty Thor
…and the collector lives happily ever after

The only unworthy Thor I want to see more of is the one beat the shit out of his hammer so much that said hammer became afraid pf him. You know, Thor, god of fists. He hated the hammer so much that he warned it to stay out of his way or he would beat punch the hammer again. Yes, this is a version of Thor that we did get not too long ago.
Thor writers should be required in their contracts to never bring any variation of "unworthy" into the comic ever. It has never been done well and has been done too many times.

For anyone who doesn't understand, this entire run of comics was absurd and completely phoned in. The Odinforce exceeds the magic Odin used to make the hammer's condition, which means by wielding it he could lift mjolnir even when unworthy, and no version of the Collector should have been able to survive a fight with a Thor that can wield the Odinforce to begin with. Completely absurd.
It was an interesting story line... like 20 iterations ago
The ultimate hammer/Jarnbjorn doesn't have the enchantment on it. Its more akin to its mythological counterpart, it's just really really heavy. Ultimate Hulk was able to lift it and Ultimate Magneto could control it with magnetism. Something that is impossible with the 616 Mjolnir because of the magic enchantment.

First time hearing of Beta Ray Bill
Really? For a while now he’s been one of, if not the only character who can consistently lift mjolnir other than Thor
Beta Ray has been around since the 70s. Awesome character; true Thor ally. Deserved a prominent role in at least one of the Thor movies. Odin had a hammer made just for him - Stormbreaker; shows how worthy he is!
Background of Beta Ray Bill, he comes from a race of aliens who pick a few members of their people and alter their bodies to make them super soldiers
The side effect is that they end up looking like orange horse face people. Beta Ray Bill was the first character in the comics to pick up Thor's hammer. Odin being a troll was like "hey, you two fight to the death. Winner gets the hammer". They fight, somethings happen, and Odin was like "you're both worthy. Thor, you get to keep your hammer and Beta Ray Bill, you're pretty cool, so you can have your own hammer". Thor and Beta Ray Bill end up being really good bros after that.
The hammer considering Thor unworthy despite his desire to save an innocent child feels like bad writing. No, strike that, it doesn’t feel like bad writing, it is bad writing.
Isn’t this the one where he spends like 100 years punching mjolnir until he trains so much that he shatters mjolnir by just straight up punching it. And then casually goes and get the iron fist power
The funny thing is the hammer does nothing for Thor power wise. What most don't know is his hammer contains a god called "Tempest" which is what gives Thor control over Thunder..... problem is Thor is actually stronger than Tempest. 😂
This was shown when Thor was once again unworthy of the hammer (I lost count how many times this has happened it's a recurring thing), so Iron-Fist trained Thor to fight without it, Thor eventually became so strong he actually started using the hammer as a punching bag.... and broke it earning his new name.... Thor God of Fists..... (no seriously that is what his name is 😂)

Let's just say there were many times where he was written to be more an unworthy drunken idiot than a noble hero of Asgard. Oh and let's not forget at one point he handed over the hammer to Miles Morales who turned all of Brooklyn into Asgard.
Comic book writers have been doing Thor dirty for years. People rarely notice his bad writing because they're more focused on Spider-Man's bad writing.
