  • Leading Reproductive Justice in Tennessee.
SisterReach, founded October 2011, is a Memphis, TN based grassroots 501c3 non-profit supporting the reproductive autonomy of women and teens of color, poor, rural women, LGBT+ folx, gender non-conforming people (GNC) and their families through the framework of Reproductive Justice. Their mission is to empower their base to lead healthy lives, raise healthy families and live in healthy communities.
Founder & CEO, Cherisse Scott, first introduced to RJ through her own personal experiences and work in Chicago, IL, saw the need for women of color leadership around their reproductive and sexual health and wellness . SisterReach’s founding was not only to heighten awareness and increase access for women and girls in Tennessee, but policy makers, medical providers, educators, feminists, other advocacy organizations and community leaders whose missions and agendas fell within the realms of Reproductive Justice or intersected the framework. Because of SisterReach's trailblazing leadership, there are now two RJ organizations in the state of TN and a host of women of color intentionally doing their work using a RJ approach.
