    Расцветали яблони и груши,
    Поплыли туманы над рекой.
    Выходила на берег Катюша,
    На высокий берег на крутой.
    Выходила, песню заводила
    Про степного сизого орла,
    Про того, которого любила,
    Про того, чьи письма берегла.
    Ой ты, песня, песенка девичья,
    Ты лети за ясным солнцем вслед

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Apple blossoms and pears blossomed,
    Fogs floated over the river.
    Katusha came ashore,
    To the high bank on the steep.
    Coming out, the song started
    About the steppe blue eagle,
    About the one whom she loved,
    About the one whose letters were taken care of.
    Oh, you, song, a song of a girl,
    You fly behind the clear sun
    And a fighter on the far border
    From Katyusha, say hello.
    Let him remember the girl simple,
    Let him hear how she sings,
    Let him take care of the land,
    And Katyusha will save her love.
    Apple blossoms and pears blossomed,
    Fogs floated over the river.
    Katusha came ashore,
    To the high bank on the steep.
    Approximate translation:
    Apple trees and pear trees went into blooming,
    River mists began a floating flow,
    She came out and went ashore, Katyusha!
    On the lofty bank, on the steeply shore.
    She came out and sang she song about
    Her young friend, the bluish eagle from steppe
    All about the one she dearly loved,
    The one whose letters she treasured and kept.
    Hey, a song, the song of the young girl,
    Fly and go after the bright Sun,
    Find a soldier on the distant borderlands
    Say hello from Katya waiting long for him.
    Let him remember the young and simple maiden,
    Let him hear the song she now sings,
    Let him protect his Motherland for sure,
    And their love Katyusha will protect.
    Mgły okryły bystrej rzeki bieg.
    Nad wodami roni łzy Katiusza,
    Patrząc tęskno na wysoki brzeg.
    Śpiewa Kasia w cały świat szeroki
    O sokole, chłopcu z innych stron.
    O sokole, chłopcu czarnookim,
    A serduszko bije w niej jak dzwon.
    Oj ty piosnko, piosnko ty dziewicza,
    Na wiatrowych skrzydłach w niebo leć.
    Memu chłopcu tam na pograniczu,
    Mej miłości płomień w sercu wznieć.
    Niech przypomni prostą swą dziewczynę,
    Niech usłyszy jej nieśmiały zew,
    Niechaj wiernie broni swej ojczyzny,
    Miłość Kasia strzeże jak swój śpiew.
    Uschła jabłoń i przekwitła grusza,
    Mgły zatarły bystrej rzeki ślad.
    Taki szary teraz dla niej świat.
    [...]- Repeats twice
    Apple trees and pear trees were a flower, river mist was rising all around. [Young Katyusha came strolling by the hour, on the steep banks, o'er the rocky ground]
    By the river bank she sang a love song, of her hero in a distant land. [Of the one she dearly loved for so long, holding tight his letter in her hand.]
    Oh my song, song of a maiden's true love, to my dear one travel with sun. [To the one whom Katyusha loved so, bring my greeting to him one by one.]
    Let him know l that I am true and faithful, let him hear the love song that I send. [Tell him as he defends our home that grateful, true Katyusha our love will defend.]
    For some reason, listening to this take on the song with just a sole piano stirs more of my soul than a whole band and quire ever did. Maybe it's just the harmony between each hand and the extra flourishes that are simply impossible to coordinate between 50 people, or the dark texture and tone of the piano, but what's for sure is that the dedication put towards making this composition was immense.
    Thank you for this extra addition to UA-cam, it really made my day.
    This is the first song I learned in my life. I was 4-5 years old. I spent the summer at a dacha with my grandparents and they told me the words. I then thought it would be great if I had a wife named Katya. It's funny but after more than 20 years I met with my "...And love Katyusha saves...": o)
    Это первая песня которую я выучил в жизни. Мне было 4-5 годиков. Я летом гостил на дачу у своей бабушки с дедушкой и они мне рассказали слова. Я тогда подумал было бы здорово если бы у меня была жена с именем Катя. Это забавно но через 20 с лишним лет я познакомился со своей "А любовь Катюша сбережёт" :о)
    Looking back on this video brings memories for me, it was one I aspired to a lot when I was a year or so into piano, when I a brand new player I watched a lot of these and was always thinking "I can barely even play the easy ones, let alone these.." and now, it seems so simple, I really appreciate the sheets you guys do and you've been a memorable part of my playing ;)
    For those foreigners who think Katyusha is the Communist song. Actually it isnt. Communistic isnt equal to Soviet. Soviet means rather national and cultural ( mainly russian) identity than ideological identity. Please don't mix these things, because communism didnt inspire anyone of the famous soviet songwriters of the XX century, though their songs were censored
      I don't think the generalization comes from foreigners trying to discredit Russian culture but because most well-known socialist songs (socialist because that's what the song is usually about, a message, be it political or patriotic) are good- sound good to most.
    English Lyrics:
    Apple trees and pear trees were a flower
    River mists began a floating flow
    She came out and went ashore, Katyusha
    On the lofty banks
    and On the steeply shore
    She came out and went ashore, Katyusha
    On the lofty banks
    and On the steeply shore
    She came out and sang a song about
    Her young friend the eagle from the steepe
    All about the one she dearly loved
    The one whose letters she has saved
    All about the one she dearly loved
    The one whose letters she has saved
    Hey, a song the song of a young girl
    Fly and go after the bright sun
    Find a soldier on the distant borderlands
    Tell this man katyusha says hello
    Let him know the young and simple maiden,
    Let him hear the song she now sings
    Let him protect his motherland for sure
    And their love katyusha will protect.
    Let him protect his motherland for sure and their love katyusha will protect
    Apple trees and pear trees were a flower
    River mists began a floating flow
    She came out and went ashore, Katyusha
    On the lofty banks
    and On the steeply shore
    She came out and went ashore, Katyusha
    On the lofty banks
    and On the steeply shore
    She came out and went ashore, Katyusha
    On the lofty banks
    And on the steeply shore
    Розцвілися яблуні і груші,
    Попливли тумани над ріку,
    Встала рано на зорі Катюша
    І на кручу вийшла на стрімку.
    Вийшла, стала, пісню заспівала
    Про степного сизого орла,
    Що його так вірно покохала,
    Що листи од нього берегла.
    Ой ти, пісне, линь назустріч сонцю,
    Залети аж на Далекий Схід,
    І бійцю, чуйному прикордонцю,
    Від Катюші передай привіт.
    Хай згадає він свою дівчину,
    Хай почує пісню її знов,
    Хай він рідну береже країну,
    А Катюша збереже любов.
