- The Tata Tiago EV and the MG Comet are two of the most affordable electric cars in India. Both come in at a similar price range. The biggest difference between these two EVs is their space. The Comet is the smallest of the two, with the Tiago EV being the size of, well, an ICE Tiago. Assistant Editor Aatish Mishra puts these two EVs through a bunch of tests to tell you which EV you should buy.

Which one of these two EVs would you pick?
Depends on requirements. For personal usage consisting of 2 people at most, Comet is good enough, especially for cities. However, whenever the matter is about a family of 3-5, with some travels outskirts, then it's Tiago only. Don't forget the safety Tata provides.

There are far way too many compromises with the MG Comet. They marketed it as a Super Cheap EV , however its not quite cheap IMO. The MG can't be used as a primary vehicle because of lack of any place ( for 4 people). Ofcourse the Tata feels a bit old and dated but actually its a car with practically no compromises
It's relatively affordable. However it's primary purpose is everyday urban driving.
there are no compromises with MG Comet, As they have clearly mentioned this car As a ‘City Car’ if you search anywhere..
And there are many good features in the car And as an EV Car Price is okay 👍🏻 Because Petrol Car Cost 5-7 lakh… This is Electric.. I would suggest it for daily usage in city who needs to travel 40-50km a day and for 2-3 person is comfortable car and ac is quite more powerful than Tiago
And Also Tiago Ev is like Normal Model of Tiago and Give Taxi Vibes😂
MG Also Says it will be your second car as city car
So you need everything 4 doors and boot space For City there is no need for boot space you have minimum space are you going to put 3 large size bags to roam around in city??
They says it’s a current cheap EV
However there are no EV cars available at 4-6 lacs
And also if they are available they are 1 or 2 seaters called PMV but Made from Various Car Companies Equipment’s
Like Using Hyundais steering and using marutis key like that which is not praticle

It's a perfect daily runabout car!
My experience with the Tiago EV over the past 6 months has been excellent. I no longer dread driving in the Bengaluru City traffic. I have also made a few short overnight trips & the car handles very well on highways. I guess the Tiago is more versatile, while based on your review, the Comet is suitable for only city commutes.
Even if the MG Comet does compromise on some practical space but as a secondary car it definitely serves the purpose its made for, daily urban commute.

Good Comparison. And, unbiased too. I prefer Comet over Tiago, if it is going to be the second car in my garage, and if I intend to use it primarily in the city. Easy to manoeuvre, park and drive through narrow, congested city streets.
I think even though price wise they are similar, they serve two purposes. MG works for a family of two while the Tiago works for a family whose members are a bit tall. Also it has usable boot which works for shopping trips while in MG one may be forced to use the back seat. The above observation is my 2 cents.

My ZXI+ 2022 Brezza passenger seat makes that squeaky sound, 1 year into ownership and eats into the otherwise beautiful car.
That "chi chi" from seats in the Comet is so prominent in the video after being told that it does so. Once you hear it, you can't unhear it.
The perception of the MG Comet as a second car option for a typical Indian family is absurd. Practically, which first-time car buyer will get a petrol car and later go for a second car like MG Comet? Do we have enough parking space in our homes to have two cars? Nope. This means the MG Comet can be your first car!

Mainly pricing and warranty of batterie pack is also important thing has to consider in en economical EV ,where as comet comes with lower price tag compare to tiago,tiagos idc range is much more then comet but true range of tiago is 50 to 60% achievable

10:42 I guess the road is wider than 5.1 meter. It is the driver who was unable to handle the car resulting a 3 point turn.
The width of the road is from one edge to the other. We drive between the lanes, not on the edge, correct?
@@evoIndia As per the datasheet of Tiago ev and IRC, the width is 1677 and 3750 consecutively in mm. But you have compromised 3750-1677mm=2073 mm at most on your left-hand side. Forget the theoretical value, anybody who has had a general sense of driving can adjust her/his car to 1000mm more left as there is a minimum amount of space left before turning.
You can go to the same place, it will surely do on that particular road.
We generally adjust ourselves to a commodious passage available for a quick U-turn. Don't we?
So, the demonstration is not so convincing and the Tiago can do a U-turn without any hiccups on that particular road.
Comet product is revolutionary. Its launch in India has the potential to disrupt the Indian EV market and Tiago is not as practical car because it usually comes with so many issues and mainly range.
The Tiago has better range of the two, though.
I know but the real-life experience of Tiago has many issues. My neighbour has one and he has faced many issues including range.@@evoIndia

MG comet is poorly priced. At this price point Tiago gives you more car for your money. MG comet would have been interesting if was available at half the current price.
The Comet looks too funky for my taste. The Tiago looks much better.
How is Tata service regarding their EVs?
Well, that is one of the styling differences.
Another matter... The Wuling Hongguang Mini EV is priced at the equivalence of Rs 3.42 lakh in China and that is the value of the MG Comet. NOT an on road price of Rs 7.35 lakh. Rip off. Sell this at Rs 3.85 lakh and it will be the best selling car in India and perhaps in the world. Despite two doors there will millions of buyers. They will do for Indian EVs what the Maruti 800 did for Indian ICE cars.

Not covering up anything. Both cars have their advantages. It always comes down to what someone wants.

The problem with comet is 3 yr warranty nowhere near standard Tiago offers 8yr

Lower range

Feels Unstable at high speed due to a higher center of gravity
Lot of road noise

Comet is a car bro, it has features, safety and awesome looks.
