  • My approach to legs is different from many people’s in that I do quadriceps and hamstrings on separate days. Both sides of the legs require intensity and a high volume of sets to ensure hypertrophy. If your quads are trained properly, you will not have the energy to train your hamstrings effectively in the same workout.

I like the way Charles doesn't have 1 way of doing things
    "what machine do u prefer"
" the one that is free"
    Is a perfect answer
The most important thing about training is make it enjoyable do what you like and you can't go wrong of course you will always have experiences you don't like but if u can find away to enjoy it your already winning

6:00 - This guy needs to sit back and stop putting so much strain on his neck and upper back. It does nothing to help you and actually does harm the longer he goes and the heavier the weights get.
One other thing I notice when people train legs is they move too quickly through the reps to really get the gain for their troubles. Doing your reps at a slower pace requires more control and that will engage your muscles to a higher degree. It is also more evident when using machines that more or less force you into a set motion, versus free weights.
When doing any squat type motions keeping your feet straight as opposed to pointed outwards will better engage the whole muscle group evenly. It is not all that different than the various variations of push ups. Where the ball of your foot bends should be in a perpendicular alignment towards your body. It might feel like you are weaker when doing so, but this just goes to show the difference of which muscles are being engaged and to what extent.

I think they think I can't afford better shoes, but all I see are people that don't really understand proper form and footwear. Thick soled, cushy, popular shoes have no place in squats, deadlifts, and leg presses.

If you're quad heavy it will strain knees. But yuuup strengthening the parts of quad that are close to knee will help with knees if you have knee problems, which leg extensions do
