From Wikipedia:
The Dolphin East-West Expressway is a 15-mile-long (24 km), six-lane, divided controlled-access highway, with the westernmost 14 miles (23 km) as an all electronic tollway signed as State Road 836 (SR 836), and the easternmost 1.292 miles (2.079 km) between Interstate 95 (I-95) and SR A1A cosigned as Interstate 395. The road currently extends from just north of the intersection of Southwest 137th Avenue and U.S. Highway 41 (US 41) in Tamiami, eastward past the Homestead Extension of Florida's Turnpike (SR 821) and Miami International Airport, before intersecting I-95, becoming I-395 and ending at SR A1A in Miami at the west end of the MacArthur Causeway. The Dolphin Expressway is maintained and operated by the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority (MDX), while the I-395 section is maintained by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). The Dolphin Expressway from the Palmetto Expressway to I-95 opened in 1969, with the I-395 section opening in 1971, the extension to the HEFT opening in 1974 and a second western extension opening in 2007.
The Dolphin Expressway is an all-electronic toll road that only accepts tolls via SunPass transponders or billing by the toll-by-plate at double cost. The toll road does not accept cash. Toll gantries are located along the expressway and on interchange ramps, eliminating all "free movement" sections that existed in the past. As of November 15, 2014, the total toll for traffic traveling along the expressway from Northwest 137th Avenue to Interstate 95 is $2.40 for SunPass users, and $4.80 for Toll-by-Plate users.
I LOVE the video & I also love Miami/ Miami Beach. I love the foxtail palm trees you drove by on your journey 🌴🌴🌴🌴.
👍👍👍
They are Cuban Royal Palms
@@alejandroaristeguia6717 Thank you for correcting me 👍🏽😀
@@cameronf.680 No problem
Great footage! I loved the view you got on those skyscrapers when you hit the MacArthur Causeway!
Thanks. Yes that view was amazing.
@@MileageMikeTravels Do record at the causeway?
That sight opening up at 16:30 is amazing!
Florida does have some neat lookin highways and toll roads
Great video mike keep it up man are freeways your favorite
Depends on the area. Some surface routes have pretty nice views as well. Freeways tend to be the most enjoyable to drive though since there aren’t any stoplights.
It's a beautiful place! It doesn't fill my mind just to see it .. I feel like running there! You're driving alone, I'm not there..
i can't think of anything....
I remember driving along Northwest 137th Avenue heading onto eastbound State Road 836 Dolphin Expressway via Sun Pass Toll Lanes. Going all the way to junction of interstate I-95 via Downtown Miami. This continues I-395 MacArthur Causeway into Miami Beach.
I love this freeway
One of the best in the area.
@@MileageMikeTravelsI love it too Im obessed with the highway
Finally you also filmed the miami told roads.
Oh yeah the SunPass has been getting work lately.
@@MileageMikeTravels I See, they used to go into people's banks accounts and take money from it. So I will prob never get a sunpass.
@@MileageMikeTravels Try to do tolled expressways along the northern edge of the Miami area.
Love the name.love dolphins.all the time i lived in fl.never saw one.dad never took me.
Nice catch! Never seen that before!

👋🏽Mike Have U Filmed Any Video’s Out In California Yet
Lived there for a few years in the past but haven’t been back since I started making videos.
@@MileageMikeTravels 👍🏼
Interesting views. Good until the next hurricane. At the end, there's a Publix. Can't be Florida without at least one Publix. Someday, there will be a single electronic tolling system nationwide. The Feds passed a law on it, but a number of states aren't complying.
wow i like big citys thery cool bro
What happens if you drive though a toll zone with a fake toll pass like expass, txpass, sunpass, and the toll thing thinking it was real and trying to charge the tolling
Maybe you can record sawgrass toll road next??
Already left the area. Didn't have time to get that one on this trip. Maybe next time.
@@MileageMikeTravels ok.
Who Has Been On A Cruise Sail Down In Miami Yet
MDX started accepting E-ZPass on its toll roads when the Florida's Turnpike Enterprise started accepting it
The Dolphin Expressway should become a tdi
