You need to let the wood dry out for at least 2 months. Sometimes longer for larger pieces. Also, if you can fit them, boil them to kill off any bugs or fungus. if you cant boil, use 1 part bleach 9 parts water and let it soak for about an hour.
I recently watched a video about a guy who strategically built a chair with green wood. All the tricks and tips he showed were pretty cool. He assembled the chair so that as it shrank, it actually became more secure.
Beautiful quick tutorial, please show us how to keep them standing up & not fall over ;) mine fall ;( also how to keep them stuck together ;) thank you ;)
Guava tree would be ideal i think. It's strong and robust. Besides, it has little to no bark at all and the branches are already quite smooth. Pls upload a video when you're done. thanks.
This is a Crape Murdel, it is a gorgeous tree. Unfortunately we had to remove it as a lot of it was not healthy and in a very awkward place in our backyard when we moved in.
Hi, that is such a beautiful tree branch. But how do you prevent termites from attacking it? Do you give it a special treatment? Like some oil or something like that?
It is a beautiful tree branch. We did not see any signs of bugs of any sort. You may be able to apply a sealant of some sort on there if you were wanting to do so.
Also rubbing or spraying an essential oil like lemon, lime, lemongrass, peppermint or eucalyptus or clove oils keep all bugs away & smells great &they repel bugs ;)

Spray matt finish clear coat works great. Or brush on varnish & boiled linseed oil.
