What impresses me about this band: no accent, no mistakes, perfect pitch and timing, sings all genres, very prolific, her beauty, varies her clothing & makeup, she seems fun, humble and appreciative of her fans and probably more. Started following her since “We’ve Only Just Begun” in 2020 and been amazed ever since. I’m over 60 years old and IMO this is the best cover band ever.

I also prefer this song than the first, Through the fire was a vocal calisthenics a shock and awe performance while this Piano in the dark will move you to the groove.
Gigi de Lana is from The Philippines 🇵🇭.. when I traveled there, posters of her were in so many locations.
She has the jazz rhythms. She sings like Avril Lavigne, the late Karen Carpenter, RIP, Hayley Williams, et al.

The Philippines. She is called the "Queen of Covers" as you will find out. Jazz/blues/rock...... Yes she is reading the lyrics, as these performances are REQUESTS during a 2 hour livestream on her channel. They don't really know what is going to feature, so the iPad helps her with the lyrics on songs she has rehearsed, but might not be word perfect with yet.

I think it’s incredible she did these live, she’s sat down, doesn’t know which song she’ll be performing until it’s suggested and she still manages to pull off a FLAWLESS performance. Not sure of too many who could do that.

Yes, Philippine talents are only starting to get noticed. Gigi herself is a year older than Morissette but only got noticed by the Philippine music industry during the pandemic when what used to be a wedding band regularly started their livestreams from a studio in a garage. With "Bakit nga ba Mahal Kita" they went viral in the Philippines and with "Unholy" they went viral globally - years after Morissette's Wish Bus successes.
Gigi and Morissette have a Toni Braxton medley BTW. Gigi explodes on stage, check out her duet with Eumee Capile in Las Vegas where they cover Bang Bang.
She also has a recent cover of Decode by Paramore - one of her favorite bands as a teen. If you want to know more about her background check out her Homecoming video which has subtitles. She is basically a girl next door from quite humble beginnings who stayed rooted.

She and her band used to do live streams twice a week and they perform songs requested by fans, hence, the need for the tablet for the lyrics. She does speak English, only her interviews you'll see online were together with the band so mostly in Tagalog. Gigi is a phenomenal singer and you can find a ton of great covers and some original songs as well on her channel.

I saw some others talking about the live-streaming too… for me that makes it even more impressive, to do what she does with a song, most singers would need weeks of rehearsals.
I have to commend all of the Filipino artists I’ve reacted to, they may not speak English too well, but my word can they sing it!!!

She can sing any genre but ROCK is where she truly shines. Check out their All Time Hits Rock medley, Unholy, Heart to Heart, Michael Jackson medley. She’s awesome at ballads too. Check out After All and I Can’t Stop Loving You (duet with Daryl Ong). They also have an all-original album but all the songs are in Tagalog.
Wow, I never would’ve thought she was a rock girl, that’s really cool. I’d love to do more of her rock style performances since I haven’t done too many on the channel.
