Is he actually suggesting you can ride that front wheel with a 28c tire? Not sure I’d do that. That’s pretty far off the ETRTO compatibility chart I think. I’d be worried that it could pop off the rim.
@sebastianm2381 30c is perfect and was flush with the rim, 28 would be slightly more aero (on the front) and don't THINK it would be an issue, but I've never ridden wheels this wide before so I am unsure
@@harrymaccycling 33.8 measured tire width, I can see these tires are GP 5000, but what exact tire? (clincher, or STR) and size (28 or 30) did you use and roughly what tire pressure was that measured width at?
The reason they use the 30/24 rear wheel is because Farsports doesn’t make a wider 50mm deep rim. These are great wheels, but they are rebranded Farsports wheels. Harry has done a good job of picking parts from the catalog, but there is nothing bespoke of even proprietary about these aside from the logo.
“No. 6” wheels is a knockoff brand launched in China in 2024 by a former No. 22 Bicycle dealer who blatantly copied our existing No. 6 Composites branding. We ended our relationship with that dealer in January 2024 and they almost immediately knocked off our branding for use on their rebranded (dangerously wide for road use) Farsports wheels. I’m sure there are better options from more reputable wheel brands available who bring something to the table other than intellectual property theft.
I have the same pair and impressed in all aspects. One thing I have noticed (and you have it showing in the final few secs) is that the wheels are not balanced. On high speed descents it does vibrate a little. I have balanced it using golf weight strips (around 18g opposite to the valve) and it has made it smoother. Try it !
I love that they use straight pull contained spokes, way too many chinese wheelsets now use side entry spokes which have absolutely no redundancy when one snaps as explained multiple times by Peak Torque.
Nice introduction to a new innovative product, thnx! How’s that Elves bike? Can you do a long term review? I was super tempted to buy it at the time, but found it so experimental that it seemed a bit risky in terms of sizing and windy conditions…
Thanks! The old rim brake elves I had, don't buy it, had alot of issues, the new ones I have (disc brake falath evo + vanyar) are really good bikes 🙏 will do a review on them at some point!
Nice wheels, nice review. I had the same issue with new MTB rims and a small alloy washer was the fix . Let me to apply tension and squish the rubber sealed. Don't think it unbalanced the spin too much.
Mate, you should slap on those new 40mm Pirelli P Zero road tires-you know, for when you fancy spicing up your Surrey gravel adventures. Nothing like a tire that’s ready for tarmac and a cheeky bit of dirt!
@@harrymaccycling I would assume such light wheels have hookless rims, so you have to keep pressure low enough to avoid disaster. What pressure did you use? And with 30mm tires on 28mm internal width wheels and lower pressure, isn’t there some risk of hitting the rims in rough conditions?
What PSI were you running them at? Also when you put 30s on, what did the actual width end up being? Assuming 32 or so 'cause of the massive internal width?
I was running them at 60psi (I'm 70kg) I prefer lower pressures, if I'm racing crits I would put these down to maybe 50psi even... On a normal tyre setup I would run 60psi when racing. They blew up to 33.8mm I think, massive!
Well done, Harry - great interview w/ the No. 6 rep (background music was a bit loud though). Loved the explanation of the company's name.
Cheers thanks dude and thanks for letting me know! 🙏

@travispyle2905 sorry! Was a 30mm gp5000 str running tubeless 60psi
Best review of these wheels I’ve seen - and deffo most entertaining 😊 can’t wait to see more ❤

I have the farsports hypers and I've decided I only want Mac internal width of 22. I think all of this have gotten out of control.
They are rebranded farsport?
@@shahsahari yes
class review harry , i’m getting a set of these soon , 45/50 , can’t wait to ride on them … ignore the haters 🤩💜

Your best video yet , nice edit ,something different from the norm, chapeau!

Please provide Harry with the No. 22 frame and No. 6 fork.
I got targeted with some advertising from that fake no6 guy. What a low-life. Too bad it's so onerous to trademark or patent in Asia.

So you're impressed with them being unbalanced? Seems you're easy to impress.

Review of how you find the falath evo frame pls. Heard it feels kinda bad.
Will do soon! Falath evo is very good can confirm! Although not the lightest if you're looking for a climber!
Thank you for the video!! and really good overall, but I think the background music was too loud in the interview.
Cheers! And noted 🙏👍
what tire size did u put on?
30mm gp5000 str, frogot to to say 😅
@harrymaccycling woah.. 30mm blows up to 33. that's pretty wild!
Hill climb champ. Big up yourself. Sick interview 👍
Thanks!
wait so how is wider rim with same tire width more comfortable? in my experience the opposite is true.
More volume in the tyre = more comfortable (with the ride pressure)
@@harrymaccycling but if the tire is the same then the volume should also be same no? same tire on wider rim will be less tall but wider.
@oplkfdhgk you'll have more space inbetween the rim and tyre meaning more space to flex so more space to make it feel more comfortable
Bro’s intro is as rapid as bro rides 🚀

What size tires did u put on them?

What is the claimed tyre clearance on your bike? Did the 30mm fit alright?
Fit completely fine!

Super wide bois
He didnt really answer why they are wider in the front..
No.Sick 😂
Keep the music! Just call in an audio engineer to set the levels. haha

Yep!
Looks like I failed at trying to hide my Singlish accent.
Was it the Singaporean flag that gave it away??
use the bottle to clean the tire 🤣🤣🤣
Loads of debby downers, music is great, just a bit loud is all
