I am getting free javelin help but all of the flight problem advice is the same: keep your elbow up. This video is excellent and hopefully gets me throwing farther and straighter. Thanks.
Don't slow down when approaching the foul line, get a good plant on your left leg, if righty. Don't bend/collapse the left leg or it will act like a shock absorber and also cause the javelin to fly lower to the ground. Right foot should end up just before the foul line. Don't give up 5-10 feet on the runway like I used to do.
An outstanding coach in every respect - never turned an athlete away regardless of ability (even me!) yet has consistantly produced outstanding throwers. Dan the lad throwing has recently competed in the European Youth Championships I believe having thrown over 74m?
+Lemon Yes you can. Keep your elbow above or equal to your shoulder height and PULL through into a spiking position. Watch my video - it isn't exactly perfection but you'll get the general idea. DONT listen to PE teachers. They haven't a clue.
Wish they had videos like this 40 years ago when I was throwing...NICE
Me too....! I still throw javelin in my sleep!

Thanks for the video. I needed some tips on why I was having trouble
Mine lands with tips to the left and end to the right. I want to correct this but I don't know what he means by "low arm"
Extend your arm straight back and then release at the highest point
Is this at the UEA sportspark?
Honestly, was just thinking that when I saw the shot, tripple then the building
I am interested in trying throwing professional javelin. I am getting the right tips here.

Concentrate on throwing technique ,not on fast running
The guy teaching is my uncle :)
