I FINALLY beat this today! I kept dying to the stupid cactus twins. Magnify+Barrier and magnify+haste help a ton. Quickly stagger and focus down one. Use one character to party heal from the needles attack; barrier will help you tank it. Use stop on the other cactus; once one is down, the fight is cake. Round 10 wasn’t even a challenge 🙃.
Took me nearly 24 hours, tried loads of different methods including yours but enjoyed yours most so tweaked it slightly and got it 2nd attempt then. Thank you for your video :)
Thank you so much for this guide! I followed your guide step by step, and I was able to beat this Brutal Challenge. I had my computer screen side by side with my PS5 screen so that I pause every round and view your guide for each round as I play each round. That worked out pretty well. I had to do about five restarts on the first two rounds to familiarize myself with this trick and once I familiarized myself with the brumal form shortcuts, casting ATB Ward on Yuffie from Aerith, then casting haste on Yuffie, then the magic spell spam begins with Tifa and Aeirth! Genji gloves is a must. I saw 22K damage in one of the runs!
This took me many, many attempts, but with your build I was able to finally beat this a few minutes ago 😭 What makes this so hard is that half the time, the enemies were incredibly aggressive and in other attempts they are manageable; you never know what you’ll end up with. Kid G and Gigaworm were the worst culprits for me. Thank you so much!!!

Just wanted to thank you - you helped me massively and I won handily. I had a scare at the Cactuars - on the attempt I won it was the first time I'd past the bloody Gigaworm - so I had no idea how I would do. Luckily, it all worked out!
With some tweaks, my frustration with this challenge came to an end. I replaced Steal with Pray, and replaced Warding with Revival. Thank you so much for uploading these and saving me several MORE hours of headache lmao
I tried many popular builds and I was stuck for 2 days on this..thank you so much Tifa is such a beast for your set up. Im grateful for your clear explanation i finally did it 7min 1sec!
Worked like a charm. Couple of things to help people. If you're not procing enough atb with yuffie, its because you forgot haste. Trust me bro, lol. Great way to dodge getting swallowed is to just use dodge (circle) towards the worm as he comes out. If MP is a problem, your absorbs are on quake and ice for tifa and aerith respectively.

dude thank u for this guide. i got it in my third try (to learn the set up quickly as possible in fight before getting hitted or sth). i stuck there for 2 days cause of the damn worm but now i flew through the challenge like a breeze. worked like a charm. finally i can come down..this worm gave me nighmares. thank u a lot ! greetings from germany
in my first try i forgot to shut down the reflect from the giant ox and tifa bombed me away. in my second try tifa was at low hp in the fight with the flying cyclop and died very quickly the final third try was so smooth in all things. all charcters began with full hp in every round...im really done with this brutal challenge and this stupid worm. XD
I have to take a break from this. I constantly die in round 8 for some stupid reason. It's infuriating! I have 87 of 88 of Johnny's Curios and cannot seem to get past the last two Brutal challenges. Hell I broke down and looked up a guide and I've tried it this way and I do worse than my own way. I think I maybe losing hair doing this over and over again. I know I'll get there but GD this can get irritating!
It's only natural to do worse with a guide at first since you're use to your own strategy. I'd take a break like you said and come back with a clear head! Good luck School 🙏

I wish I figured that one out much earlier on but it made some of these Simulations easy. Finishing all chapters on hard eas actually much easier than I imagined it would be. Thank you this was a fantastic guide that I'll definitely recommend to others!!

I was trying Optinoob’s strat for awhile and I was having a hard time with Kid G. I tried your way and I got it on my first try. I tip my hat to you sir🙏
Thanks for the guide! Can do the first seven rounds very consistently. Died in Round 8 at least a half dozen times. Beat it the first time I got past that round.
For anyone struggling, keep trying, you'll get it eventually. For yuffie instead of mug i used revival, for tifa instead steadfast block >revival. Was useful. Another thing that helped me, always did the same stuff as in video plus 2-3 dodges and i always ran to the side of the arena with yuffie then haste and atb ward and usual strategy.
Oh wow I stand corrected this is actually ridiculously easy using this method. It did take me a couple of hours because of some bad luck, but I didn’t even need to use a summon to help
Big thanks for this!! Been stuck on this for 3 days xD Got it 1st try with this strat and was only 25 mins (compared to 45-50 other ways and then dying in Round 8 or 10)
Round 6 just kept going wrong for me. of the many times i ran it, constently i coulodnt get past it. Aerith would just keep chain dying before getting her arcane ward off. Once i broke the cycle i got beaten by round 8, but only had to beat that one and i knew everything was plain sailing. Thank You
@@Naztalgic_Memories it’s not mate but I realllly couldn’t be bothered farming, I went for the manawall/limit siphon planatery protection build with tifa/cloud/aerith, worked really well! The RNG on the gigaworm was super annoying though, swallowed like 3 times in a row and just wasted 15 mins haha
@@Naztalgic_Memories I finally killed the worm! Casting STOP to it with Yuffie then start Brumal Forming so Aerith and Tifa can Nuke it to hell was the key, then cast it again. The Claw was just caught in the massacre, blown away and died in a second XD
Thanks to you I finished it. Everything went super smooth, my only problem was that Sandworm eating me over and over again… don’t run from it, face it and if it casts devour, spam Yuffie ethereal form Towards It.scary, but it works.

Well I finally beat seventh seal I'm finally on to rulers of the outer world it should be fun to see how much effort I have to put in because I do want the gotterdamurung because there's a chance I want to revenge run all these BRUTALS with limit siphon. I have my criticisms of the brutal battles but I would like to thank you for your assistance there were a couple other people who helped me but you gave me the primary methods that I used thank you for that. Even if outer worlds is hard at least there's something to strive for
@elwingy yet we have people on here defending it, telling me to git gud. I have the platinum now, I guess I "got gud" but that doesn't change the fact that these sims are way overtuned.
@@PZaboori33 I have the plat as well. Point is, by getting this plat the only thing i felt was relief. Not joy. It also made me want to break the game disc in a thousand pieces. It actively made me hate a game that a few weeks ago I felt in love with. The endgame truly is disgusting. It is not even about skill. It is about having the patience to play over and over and over each challenge until you find a build that works for you and RNG is kind to you. This has really very little to do with actual skill.

I cannot get past the worm, and for some reason the shortcut (L1+X) isn't working for me. I don't know how the worm isn't swallowing your Yuffie? Is it just rng?
Bind it to another button if your controller is faulty! I'm pressing the next Brumal Form as the current one is still going out reducing the frames she's not in the invincibility frames to get Swallowed!
@Naztalgic_Memories @Naztalgic_Memories I did it! Changed the shortcut, but I think it's my timing, so I mostly did it via menu, which is less effective, but I just persevered. I also changed the loadout slightly, I needed to be able to recover after being wormed, so I had a bit of recovery and extra dmg instead of hp/mp up, no point having higher hp if you're wormfood. But thank you sm! Outer worlds here I come!
I did Brutal 1 to 5 without Brumal Form method and they were some of the stress inducing and annoying fights in this game next to Legendary Bouts (especially Cait's, Barret's and Red's). Dark Claw / Gigaworm and two Gigantuars were the worst ones in this one ;w;
I'm doing the Legendary's right now and they definitely test your build crafting! It's so fun optimizing these! Any of the challenges that had the worms gave me trouble cause of the Swallow attack!
This was a bit trickier but still worked! Question, why did we leave in the Steal materia? I'm assuming that was for last run's Tonberry? Or is there some stat boost I'm not aware of
Alright... so after like 30 attempts I finally got this lol. Here is my advice to people that are struggling... You want to have a way to revive your teammates if they fall, so chuck these materia's and swap with *Revival Materia*. *Tifa* loses *Precision Defense Focus* (she's a caster, she doesn't need it) *Aerith* loses *Enemy Skill* (it's only 5% magic... you don't need it) *Yuffie* loses *Mug* (she never has a use for it) I died to *Round 8* Far TOO Many times because the worm would swallow Yuffie right off the bat while setting up. So for round 8... *1.* Have Aerith do ATB boost (don't do ATB Ward just yet on Yuffie) *2.* Switch to Yuffie and do ATB boost *3.* Yuffie will then cast STOP on the worm (so it stops swallowing you OVER and OVER and *OVER* at the start) *4.* Yuffie will cast Haste, then run over to the stopped worm and attack it (to build back ATB for Brumal Form) *5.* Aerith THEN casts ATB Ward on Yuffie, while the worm is still stopped (if you cast it earlier the ward might be on the other side of the arena where Yuffie runs to the worm from). After that continue as normal and everything falls fast. Also, if you don't have Brumal Form on a shortcut, you'll NEVER do it. If you're not a shortcut person... get acclimated with it. Also thank you Naz for the great Guide / Strat! It's also awesome because doing this prepares you for your guide for Rulers of the Outer Worlds.
Hello. Thanks for your guide. Could you please explain the technique on Brumal Form for Yuffie? I see you executing it, and I don't see the ATB being drained even though you are not evading any attacks sometimes. I'm not clear on the mechanics of this ability. When I tested it the ATB bars were drained for Yuffie. Cheers!
Hi Johnny! Thank you for using the guide! Yuffie's Brumal Form has a lot ATB cost. With Haste, the accessory I have on her(forgot the name) and Aerith's ATB Ward you counteract the cost and actually start gaining ATB whenever you use it. Hence her being an ATB battery for the other two allies!
Nothing about this works for me. In the very first fight, the crab lands frog, the golem grabs one of my party members, and I immediately die. In round two, the try-hard goblin will sledgehammer Yuffie WHILE she’s spamming BF and eliminate her immediately, then destroy the remaining two teammates with guard crush since they have no more ATB assists from Yuffie. It’s over in literally seconds if I even make it to this round. I am level 70 with all materia mastered. I can get to round 6 by fighting as I would normally without such methods, but I can’t make it through round 2 with this method.
Gotta run through this again. I can confirm this method still works, i just tweaked mine a bit. I lost on stage 6. BEWARE! USE DISPEL!!!! Big boy put on reflect and i didnt even notice. Wiped two of my party members with my own attacks 😅
No idea. I would need to actually see footage to answer considering this was a botched run where Tifa died and I still showcased you can clear without her. The other attempts Quakaga worked just fine.
@@Naztalgic_Memories btw I just wanted to thank you. Your guides got me through what I believed to be an impossible task. As for the original comment. I figured out what is happening. The Gorgon has this rush/swipe move that one hit kills Tifa and Aerith. Pretty much what happened to you in the video except I have ultra bad luck because he always lands his powerful claw on either of them. It's extremely frustrating how he keeps wiping me out.
Second try only failed the first because yuffie got eaten. I see alot of people whining that this is 10 round and it takes 40 mins. I just did it in 5:20

@Naztalgic_Memories Attack and Magic Swap, and I think you have one more ATB Boost and First Strike Materia's than I do. Without rewatching the setup, my brain is recalling three each? I think I have two each.
@Naztalgic_Memories Did some googling. Turns out I missed some Materia on my first playthrough. Interestingly enough, I've done nearly every Combat Sim, but my First Strike Materia is at a total count of 1. One of the Combat Intels didn't drop it. I think I'm stuck in an eternal bug of having just 1 copy, since you can't reset the Combat Sim. This stinks.

I either get stomped by Kid G, or if not him then I get slowly dismantled by that round 5 Disgorgon frog looking thing.
Try to bait the Disgorgon next to the other enemy so when you attack they both get hit with the splash damage.
this helped so much! was able to beat it using this guide and dodging that stupid swallow in brumal form

@@Naztalgic_Memories it’s not mate but I realllly couldn’t be bothered farming, I went for the manawall/limit siphon planatery protection build with tifa/cloud/aerith, worked really well! The RNG on the gigaworm was super annoying though, swallowed like 3 times in a row and just wasted 15 mins haha

How can I defeat the Worm? Ice does nothing to it, the claw is fast kills everyone.

@@Naztalgic_Memories I finally killed the worm! Casting STOP to it with Yuffie then start Brumal Forming so Aerith and Tifa can Nuke it to hell was the key, then cast it again. The Claw was just caught in the massacre, blown away and died in a second XD

Thanks to you I finished it. Everything went super smooth, my only problem was that Sandworm eating me over and over again… don’t run from it, face it and if it casts devour, spam Yuffie ethereal form Towards It.scary, but it works.

Well I finally beat seventh seal I'm finally on to rulers of the outer world it should be fun to see how much effort I have to put in because I do want the gotterdamurung because there's a chance I want to revenge run all these BRUTALS with limit siphon. I have my criticisms of the brutal battles but I would like to thank you for your assistance there were a couple other people who helped me but you gave me the primary methods that I used thank you for that. Even if outer worlds is hard at least there's something to strive for

@@PZaboori33 I have the plat as well. Point is, by getting this plat the only thing i felt was relief. Not joy. It also made me want to break the game disc in a thousand pieces. It actively made me hate a game that a few weeks ago I felt in love with. The endgame truly is disgusting. It is not even about skill. It is about having the patience to play over and over and over each challenge until you find a build that works for you and RNG is kind to you. This has really very little to do with actual skill.

I just set up the combo as quickly as I could and they healed off the HP Absorption Shawn! I just did it yesterday and it worked perfectly fine 👍

I cannot get past the worm, and for some reason the shortcut (L1+X) isn't working for me. I don't know how the worm isn't swallowing your Yuffie? Is it just rng?
Bind it to another button if your controller is faulty! I'm pressing the next Brumal Form as the current one is still going out reducing the frames she's not in the invincibility frames to get Swallowed!

@Naztalgic_Memories @Naztalgic_Memories I did it! Changed the shortcut, but I think it's my timing, so I mostly did it via menu, which is less effective, but I just persevered. I also changed the loadout slightly, I needed to be able to recover after being wormed, so I had a bit of recovery and extra dmg instead of hp/mp up, no point having higher hp if you're wormfood. But thank you sm! Outer worlds here I come!

I did Brutal 1 to 5 without Brumal Form method and they were some of the stress inducing and annoying fights in this game next to Legendary Bouts (especially Cait's, Barret's and Red's). Dark Claw / Gigaworm and two Gigantuars were the worst ones in this one ;w;
I'm doing the Legendary's right now and they definitely test your build crafting! It's so fun optimizing these!
Any of the challenges that had the worms gave me trouble cause of the Swallow attack!

This was a bit trickier but still worked! Question, why did we leave in the Steal materia? I'm assuming that was for last run's Tonberry? Or is there some stat boost I'm not aware of

Alright... so after like 30 attempts I finally got this lol.
Here is my advice to people that are struggling...
You want to have a way to revive your teammates if they fall, so chuck these materia's and swap with *Revival Materia*.
*Tifa* loses *Precision Defense Focus* (she's a caster, she doesn't need it)
*Aerith* loses *Enemy Skill* (it's only 5% magic... you don't need it)
*Yuffie* loses *Mug* (she never has a use for it)
I died to *Round 8* Far TOO Many times because the worm would swallow Yuffie right off the bat while setting up.
So for round 8...
*1.* Have Aerith do ATB boost (don't do ATB Ward just yet on Yuffie)
*2.* Switch to Yuffie and do ATB boost
*3.* Yuffie will then cast STOP on the worm (so it stops swallowing you OVER and OVER and *OVER* at the start)
*4.* Yuffie will cast Haste, then run over to the stopped worm and attack it (to build back ATB for Brumal Form)
*5.* Aerith THEN casts ATB Ward on Yuffie, while the worm is still stopped (if you cast it earlier the ward might be on the other side of the arena where Yuffie runs to the worm from).
After that continue as normal and everything falls fast.
Also, if you don't have Brumal Form on a shortcut, you'll NEVER do it. If you're not a shortcut person... get acclimated with it.
Also thank you Naz for the great Guide / Strat! It's also awesome because doing this prepares you for your guide for Rulers of the Outer Worlds.

Could you please explain the technique on Brumal Form for Yuffie? I see you executing it, and I don't see the ATB being drained even though you are not evading any attacks sometimes. I'm not clear on the mechanics of this ability. When I tested it the ATB bars were drained for Yuffie.

You got to use Haste on Yuffie before you Brumal Form on the ATB ward without her ATB draining. I had to practice doing that too lol

Yuffie's Brumal Form has a lot ATB cost. With Haste, the accessory I have on her(forgot the name) and Aerith's ATB Ward you counteract the cost and actually start gaining ATB whenever you use it. Hence her being an ATB battery for the other two allies!

Aerith and Tifa REFUSE to cast spells in the Arcane Ward. Ive had Aerith come over to me in the ATB ward. I wish the character AI was better.

Nothing about this works for me. In the very first fight, the crab lands frog, the golem grabs one of my party members, and I immediately die.
In round two, the try-hard goblin will sledgehammer Yuffie WHILE she’s spamming BF and eliminate her immediately, then destroy the remaining two teammates with guard crush since they have no more ATB assists from Yuffie. It’s over in literally seconds if I even make it to this round.
I am level 70 with all materia mastered. I can get to round 6 by fighting as I would normally without such methods, but I can’t make it through round 2 with this method.
Sounds like this strategy may require too much APM on your part Jennin! I suggest seeking other guides out there! I wish you the best of luck 🙏
How do you get the armor Tifa has? I only have one thing with 8 slots, and thats the cetran bracer on aerith...

Gotta run through this again. I can confirm this method still works, i just tweaked mine a bit. I lost on stage 6. BEWARE! USE DISPEL!!!! Big boy put on reflect and i didnt even notice. Wiped two of my party members with my own attacks 😅

No idea. I would need to actually see footage to answer considering this was a botched run where Tifa died and I still showcased you can clear without her. The other attempts Quakaga worked just fine.

As for the original comment. I figured out what is happening. The Gorgon has this rush/swipe move that one hit kills Tifa and Aerith. Pretty much what happened to you in the video except I have ultra bad luck because he always lands his powerful claw on either of them. It's extremely frustrating how he keeps wiping me out.

What situations would you want to use Mug or Steal? I have been using a Revive materia instead of Steal. It's saved me a few times.
Steal was apart of my original strategy when I started making the guide. I never replaced it so Revive is a good Lord 👍
Second try only failed the first because yuffie got eaten. I see alot of people whining that this is 10 round and it takes 40 mins. I just did it in 5:20

@Naztalgic_Memories Attack and Magic Swap, and I think you have one more ATB Boost and First Strike Materia's than I do. Without rewatching the setup, my brain is recalling three each? I think I have two each.
@Naztalgic_Memories Did some googling. Turns out I missed some Materia on my first playthrough. Interestingly enough, I've done nearly every Combat Sim, but my First Strike Materia is at a total count of 1. One of the Combat Intels didn't drop it. I think I'm stuck in an eternal bug of having just 1 copy, since you can't reset the Combat Sim. This stinks.
@@xStrife1997x Attack and Magic Swap is in Chapter 11. ATB Boost is from Corel Chadley! First Strike is from one of Chadley's Challenges. Third Elemental and Magnify is from the Brutal Challenges!
