This was the way I was going to come back, but because of the weather I and to bail on the loop, glad to know what it's like! I'll be back! Thanks for sharing! 🙏
Fantastic video, have done Mt Monroe and Washington awhile back, and am going to be back in a few weeks, can hardly wait! Such a beautiful part of the country and your video really shows it at its best :)
Great hike Taylor! In the mid seventies a friend and I made a couple trips over there from Maine. On Memorial Day we skiied Tuckerman's Ravine and there was still almost 20 feet of snow.It was EPIC! The year before we went over and rode our bikes (we used to race) up the Auto Road. We got to about 4500' and the clouds were so thick we couldn't see and had to abandon. There were no guard rails, just a boulder every 20 feet or so, and a sheer drop beyond. A bit sketchy. On the descent we had to stop every mile or so because riding the brakes caused the glue holding on our tires to melt and they would start to roll off the rim. Been following you since the beginning, thanks for the memories. Gib
Did this loop (in reverse) on May 25th and 26th. Went up Tuckerman Ravine to Boott Spurr, then up Washington. Over Clay, Jefferson, and Adams. Spring Hut was closed but camped just outside of it. It was over 15 miles and about 7,000ft of elevation on that first day. Finished the next morning in just a few hours. Yes, it was a tough hike. Brutal terrain for most of the way, and the Boott Spur route at the beginning may not have been the best idea. Still, we really enjoyed this loop.
I love that you are getting back out into the woods (especially on the AT) and documenting it for yourself and us. I an obsessed with your videos. Keep it up girl. Can't wait to see what else you do in the future.
That was the most fun! I loved that you saw a moose and the cute little hiking graphic that you put along with it 😂 I literally gasped out loud when you said the elevation gain out of the campsite 😂. The Whites are no joke!
I did that loop a few years ago, only in reverse, - summited Mt Washington up Tuckerman, descended Gulfside and stayed at the Madison Spring Hut. The next day I just followed the AT nobo up Madison and down Osgood, etc to Pinkham Notch. Then treated myself to an overnight at the Wentworth in Jackson.
I was thinking as you were walking over the tracks that it looked like something got smooshed by the train. That’s a tough hike, I would have waved to Adams too 😂
Really great route and video. This came just in time as I'm (hopefully) hiking washington up tuck's ravine this weekend, so I'm really glad to see recent trail conditions.
Hello Taylor. Great video of the Presidential Loop Hike. I was in the White Mountains Memorial Day Week. Took the Cog Railway up Mount Washington on June 1st. My first trip to the Whites. Many more to come. Your videos were a huge help in planning my trip. Thank You for all of your hard work.
The lights are truly a nice touch. I even have them in my little hooch of an apartment. A tiny ten light string in the bathroom and another in the hall. And they will go on my next overnight-er. Thx Congrats on the 30K subscribers.
Great video Taylor! That's a long route. We got to say hi to you last year on 9/11 at the Madison Hut. Your dog was finishing the 48 that day. I'm still only 32/48 haha. Keep hiking!
Though you couldn't see it, by the sound of it. you must have caught the early morning steam engine run of the Cog. I loved your line about NH not usually having switchbacks. I had mentioned that in a few of my videos. I have found that the Balknaps have a lot more switchbacks than the Whites. Gulfside Trail from Mt. Wash. to Mt. Jefferson is gorgeous. Some day, I will attempt a hike from Madison Springs to Mt. Wash. and back.
@@TaylortheNahamshaHiker I am hoping to do some short overnighters. This Summer. I want to head out to the Sawyer Pond shelter and then do Garfield Tent site. I did that abou14 years ago. I wand to do it again to get some night sky photographs.
Wow you definitely were in favor of the mountain gods that day. I have only seen moose 💩. Nice video subscribing. That book looks pretty useful. Many more blessings
Since I saw your light setup in another video I ordered some lol! Not at REI as I live in Canada, but I found something similar here. I can't wait to try this in less than a month! My first camping trip of the season.
Was up at Tuckerman's ravine a few weeks ago. Golly gosh I love Mt. Washington! You're a moose wisperer rockin the frogg toggs lol. Maybe accessorize with a waist belt or scarf and start a trend !
Is it just me, or did Mountain House (Oregon Freeze-Dry) stop putting as much cheese in the lasagna meals? just a few years back there was enough cheese in them that it really stuck to your spoon. But the one's I've had in the past 2 or 3 years don't seem very cheesy.
The human brain is so weird! Your moose sighting reminds me of a deer sighting I had earlier this spring at home. Out of nowhere, the thought struck me, "I'm going to see a deer today." Only minutes later, three deer ran across my front yard. It's not entirely unheard of for deer to cross my yard, but it happens infrequently enough that I legit wondered whether I summoned them somehow. Let's just say I'm going to try reeeeeeeally hard not to think about bears next time I'm out camping... 😂
I have some advice for you. I also use to get migraines and they we're debilitating . I use a drug called doxepin. it totally eliminated my migraines. You take it daily at bedtime.. It has two side effects , sedation and dry mouth. Both side effects lapse with time. Hope it helps you. Daniel
Great video...again! two things that really got me smile, first the moose....well your reaction in fact! They're so big and at the same time almost ghost like. And secondly, the squirrels at the beginning of your hike..... dunno if they were fighting or mating but anyhow a second of surprise for me!! I have a question for you since your clearly a reference for hiking in the whites.... what do you use to check the weather before a hike up there? apps or internet site ? I will spend 4 days hiking the summits around Lincoln nextJuly and I want to have a clear idea about the weather. Thank you so much for the great content that you put out in each of your videos. Cheers from Canada!
haha yesss i was waiting for someone to comment on the squirrels. I like using mountain-forecast.com the most for checking the weather for the summits of the mountains I'm hiking. Gives a really good indictation of the "feels like" temp and the wind.
Well now Taylor, did you just use the f word? Sometimes those responses (unedited) are the best. I won't hold it against you. I have used the f word myself a few times in response to moose encounters. When my own daughters were in high school twenty years ago, I wouldn't let them drive after dark on account of moose. Anyway Taylor, your videos are great.
This was the way I was going to come back, but because of the weather I and to bail on the loop, glad to know what it's like! I'll be back! Thanks for sharing! 🙏
I also don't understand why they have a pic of a bike for 'no hitchhiking' 😆

I'm planning on hitting this loop this year. I was excited to see you had a video on it!
I love the animated cut scene.
"Those rocks suck", she said with an ever present smile. Thank you for the content.
haha Thanks!
That must be a really good friend to tackle that hike the first time out! Impressive. How cool to see a moose. That was your reward.
Hahah I gave her a few backpacking options and this was the one she went with!
Yea and she did a fantastic job 👏🏼

Went up Mt. Washington via road tour. It was amazing terrain you travel through.
Congratulations on 30K! And you had two moose come to celebrate it. That is crazy.
Thanks! There was actually a third moose on the way home too! It was crazy
That was funny at the end " I almost hit a F'en Moose"

There is movie on Prime Video called Infinite Storm starting N. Watts -- the location is that mountain. Should check it out.
Neat! I'll check it out
7:57 Never heard the term " Blueberry Day" before
a bluebird day. I think it's a term mostly used in skiiing. It describes a bright blue sky with no clouds.
