2 tips for a CAST IRON touring cylinder, which can take quite some seizing ;) there are two things 2do: 1) cut open the cylinder bolt channels & 2) replace the weak asso piston ie with a grand sport piston (meteor) which are the best pistons available & thats why quattrini is also using them
a polini with GS or malossi piston is NOT worth it, if you buy everything NEW
as there is piston & cyl head needed.

= 475.- (!)
=with used barrel 50.-? = 275.- :))

Which head? The malossi sport head for instance or mmw (piaggio basis) via sip shop or also a fancy mrp head (but its more cool feel good tuning than needed, standard sport head is fine)
A malossi sport is the best choice, it was technicaly renewed in 2014, its different than the malossi OLD which had indeed a 4th gear problem, see the differences old/new here: • vespa MALOSSI 210 old ...
Best 200cc cylinders are ie easily identified by its piston (where pinasco and polini are immediately out of the race) its:
rotary valve: malossi Sport 210/221
reed valve: quattrini m232/244
No sport 221 available? True, but:
a) 210/57mm stroke works perfect, longstroke is overrated
b) 221 made by yourself, take the 210, add a 2mm head gasket, and it has perfect timings ;)
