Yes, the Aisin Warner 4 speed auto was used in many vehicles of the 90's. This means the UZ series V8's will bolt up to the trans of many different vehicles. Toyota, Mitsi, Isuzu also Jeep and even Volvo

About that Carly OBD2 scan tool....I'm pretty sure there basically useless, you pay for the unit but then you need to pay for a yearly subscription to unlock its full potential otherwise there no better then the eBay jobs....
Dont bother with the old shitter. Get a straight, decent condition Delica and SAS it and dualcab chop it with the 1uz and actually build a decent roadworthy 4x4 that you can use that nobody has ever seen before 🤷♂️
If you use the factory ecu them things are known do have leaking capacitors and absolutely rob the motor of power. Also the factory airflow meters hate any form of moisture... best of replacing the dizzy caos and rotors i bet they have massive cracks in them any way.
They really need to do a 6.4 Hemi swap on that Jeep WJ. They fit quite well with the car intake (don't use the truck intake) and bolt up to the 545rfe trans without any problems. Add the 241hd transfer box (not the 241J) and that thing would be a beast.

It does seem like this is haggered shit jusy slapped together with zero Fs. I struggle to see a folded sheetmetal lifting point on the 1uz “just snapping” mine has been lifted with the same point dozens of times. Id say the engine got hooked up on the rad support and ol’ mate just yanked the engine crane out. Its more comical than quality build 😂
