Outstanding! In 1987 I was fortunate enough to be able to take this same journey while I was stationed at Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson. The movie 'The Wraith' was also filmed in and around Tucson including some scenes on this road. Charlie Sheen was the lead Actor along with Randy Quaid.
Beautifully done! Top-notch quality, subtle subtitles, the best kind of voice over, i.e., none. I grew up in Tucson and last drove this in 2007. Thank you so much!
Kind of strange to see so many different languages in the comments of a video showing my hometown. I’m just glad people are appreciating the beauty! Greetings from Tucson.

The trip down the mountain seems more fascinating than the trip up, because the granitic rimrock pinnacles and hoodoos are more obvious. Going both directions, if one has a sharp eye, you can even pick out a couple of little natural bridges! And it looked like you could even tack on a half hour, using roughly 15 minutes each end, going through suburban Tuscon outskirts, to contrast this most sinuous climb, that jumps through many different watersheds. And, this has to be the thickest bunch of Saguaro "forests" that you've shown us yet.
The amount of Saguaro cacti in the area is surprising for sure! The trip back down definitely offers some great views. It's neat to go right from the city to the mountains. One minute you're in a metro area, then suddenly you're in the desert climbing up in the mountains.
Great video but you missed the best part! Right before Summerhaven you could have taken the road to the right and seen the Ski lift and that is where bicyclists start their last gasp of air to make it to the top at Steward Observatory 9,157 Elevation, that 2 mile climb is tough, someone walking would be going faster than you biking :) There are old Motorola towers at the observatory that you can spot at your video's 55.52 minute marker. Thanks for you video, I loved it...
Yet another excellent road trip video. It was way back in 1993 that I drove up that road. What makes me so appreciative of your videos is that I can relive those journeys of mine of so long ago. And they make me aware of how much I've completely forgotten about those drives. I actually went past the Ski Resort and up to the gate of the Observatory. On that same trip, I later went and visited the Aircraft Museum at Tucson. Or perhaps it was after this drive. Yes, so long ago, and so much forgotten. Once again, thank you for producing these videos. From NSW Australia. ✔
Happy to help you relive those great trips from that long ago! Sounds like you were able to see and experience a lot during that trip! Thanks for sharing your story! 💚
A comment I appreciate. My grandparents wintered in AZ in the 80s and I visited them a couple times. One trip they took me on this drive and it's one of my favorite AZ moments. I too forgot a lot of the detail, obviously, but there are moments I vividly remember, especially the scenery at 32:00 to 36 minutes here. I'm so glad you took a stop at 34:30 and showed that scene as my favorite photo from those trips was there. I also remember that they didn't have guard rails up on the road back then. I realized that along this stretch and felt compelled to put on my seat belt. My grandpa then said, "A lot of good that'll do you if we go over". LOL. I guess I need the reassurance at that moment.
I did this drive in November of 22. It's awesome. Starts with saguaro cactus and 75 degrees. Ends with Alpine forest, snow on the ground, ski lifts and 35 degrees.😂. Love this stuff.
Oh my, you folks at AED . . . NEVER, EVER seem to run out of these gems to show us! This countryside very much reminds me of the early '60's Kirk Douglas/Gena Rowlands movie, "Lonely are the Brave". Very similar shooting sites. It's a movie about an old-school cowboy asserting his independence in a very modern world of which he has no understanding. Building to the film's climax, he climbs with his horse through near vertical gorges to a subalpine ridge which skirts the US/Mexico border. It, too is very much a Sky Island Range. I know, I've only virtually explored via Google Street Views, a stretch of US-191 that has a lot of similarity to this stretch. It's in extreme Southeast Central Arizona fairly close to the New Mexico border. It starts at the Morenci Open Pit Copper Mine, I believe one of the hugest open pits on this planet. With your portable camera rigs, you may be able to capture for us, this colossal man-made hole in the earth at select turnouts. It goes thence 80+or- miles to Alpine, Arizona, at elevations up to 9K'. I've yet to view much past SE of Alpine, but you yourselves may find some interesting scenery as you dive deeper into this region of New Mexico. Please, by all means, do consider adding this treat to your offerings of epic videos.
Love just the sound of the road, I dont need any silly music playing. Love minimal skipping ahead. Love not having to deal with some wanna be's commentary or mug. In my opinion you have it just right, maybe a three D version so We could be fully immersed.
This is another great ride on this channel. Well done and thanks a lot for recording the information panel at the San Pedro Scenic Overlook! Very appreciated and not many times seen in such kind of driving videos. You always improve the quality and excitement. Very good work, folks!
Why did you stop at Summerhaven? Another 5 miles to the ski lift. Nice restaurant and gift shp at the top. Wonderful video. Brought back alot of great memories.
Love all your videos. However, this one is a bit personal. Back in 2020, we bought a plot of land in the Tanque Verde area of Tucson, with the goal of having our winter home built on a 3-acre land. Our property actually backs up to the Soldier Trail Trailhead off of the Mt. Lemmon Highway. We look forward to spending many winter days and nights in sunny and warm Arizona while enjoying the incredible scenery and wildlife! Thanks for sharing the beauty of the area. May I offer a suggestion? Could you do a video of the Going-to-the-Sun Road and one of the Beartooth Highway? Those two are among the most scenic drives in the US, IMHO. Thank you for your great work!
I was just up there I was going to the lake but they closed it because of the fire and they needed to get water out of the lake was kind of disappointing but I’ve been up there 100 times so there’s plenty of other places to go. I did happen to find a big foot structure while I was up top L O L but anyway nice video.
Bravo. 👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤
Respect to the people who mountain bike to the top from the bottom. Motorcycle guys love this road unfortunately there is about a death or two a year from guys who ride beyond there skill level. You can easily hit 100mph on these roads and take turns from 50-70mph..great qaulity vid.
Hiking wonderland! Those beauties need geo-coordinates. Cannot post myself, as YT censors them immediately and I suspect the ones that go through are shadowbanned.
@AdventureEveryDay i lived in Az, i put them around my perimeter wall, for thief deterrent they climb over 6ft block wall, land in my yard, theyd be " stuck" there, 😄

Mysteries.
Mental relief for city dwellers. Wide and quiet mountains.
Should be seen in largest screens.
💙🤍 Thanks for watching! Definitely a pristine and peaceful escape from hectic city life!
Been about 37 years since I’ve been up there, thanks
Happy to help relive the beauty of the trip! Thanks for watching!

Your the only road trippers that have side cameras and stop to film scenic overlooks. Good work
Happy that you enjoy the side shots! Thanks for watching!
Nice video Thank you for uploading.
Always welcome!
I love your videos so much.... and now even more, because you are stopping and actually getting out of the vehicle and filming! Thank you!

I've never heard of the road before now. Quite the scenic drive. Thanks!
Sky Island Scenic Byway is one of the finest roads we've driven so far. Wonderful area. Thanks for watching!

Thanks so much for the recommendation, we've been wanting to see more of U.S. 191 and we'll have to check that area out.

Didn't know there are fires going around there, hopefully it gets under control soon.
What camera do you use to film such beautiful videos?
アリゾナ行きたい
行けるなら行くべきです。アリゾナは訪れるのに素晴らしい場所です!
Wow. So many twists and turns. Do you recommend Dramamine for this drive?
No, unless you're driving like a race car driver through the turns you should be fine.
Merci beaucoup pour cet agréable voyage.
