For the reference photo for this video, please head over to my Facebook page, I've shared the photo in the comments section of the link to this video. 😊
If you ever mess up with the feet, which I do too sometimes, you can always disguise them by placing something in front of them like an extra branch, bud or rock which ever. 😊 Loved watching this great finish too. ❤ I do believe this would have looked better on black paper unless you were to draw a background on this piece.
Thank you, yes I have thought about that but I do like to see the whole bird, though it may be a better solution for these smaller pigs where my reference photo doesn't have as much detail either.
I know exactly how it works with a parrot in the background. We have a male Eclectus who always wants to chime in! I know you have plenty of those down there and would love it if you would draw one. I have always wanted to draw him, but I've been terrified of all those feathers.
I am fairly new to coloured pencils so really enjoy your videos. However, I have so many other mediums. Watercolour, Gouache, pastels etc. Would love to watch a mixed media video maybe with gouache and coloured pencils? I am in Adelaide Australia. I have lots of Canson Mie tainte paper, never thought of using for coloured pencils!
Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoy them. I do have a couple of watercolour pencil and colour pencil mixed media videos, but not very many. It's definitely something I'm keen to branch out into more. I'm still quite new to Gouache so every piece I do with that is definitely an experiment still.
THANK YOU Bec for this real time video... its makes easy to undertand the technique and the mixing of colors.... because in an accelerated pace.. i could not distinguish and follow the steps.... thank you!!! by the way, i live in Mexico, in 2008 i visited sydney... loove your country and the animals!! God bless you,
I'm so glad you liked it. Thanks so much for your lovely comment. I love the wildlife here too, I feel very privileged to be able to enjoy and share it. 😊
When you are layering your colour for instance Faber-Castell polychrome pencils how many layers do you do until you go harder or do you do each layer lightly pressed
I think the tan colour is Taupe, it's a Derwent Lightfast colour, that's the main brown pencil I'm using in the video. The other brown colour I use very briefly is also a Derwent Lightfast colour called Sienna.
Hi there, I have just uploaded a copy of the reference photo to my Facebook page (you can find the link in video description or below the banner on my main channel page). You'll find the photo in the comments of my post about this video. Thanks so much :)
based on your channel title, i expected painting, but you have done mostly colored pencils (i'm not complaining ), so yes, you could add some painting. As i am fairly new to colored pencils, i have enjoyed all of your lessons. Also its been fun seeing animals from Australia, especially the birds. UA-cam is currently overwhelmed with unboxing and reviews, so personally i don't feel the need for those; although when you do get a new pencil, it is informative to see you use them in a drawing. Also, i don't, personally find live streams very useful, they frequently become chat-time as opposed to art-making. Best use of your time, in my opinion, would be short (~20 min.) lessons on individual techniques. The kangaroo videos are an example of this. overall, you have a good channel, i am a happy subscriber
Thanks so much for your in depth feedback. Yes when I created the channel I was really getting into gouache paint at the time, it has definitely evolved towards the colour pencil. I'm really glad you're still enjoying it though. Thank you

Hi Bec, I love this tan color, is this a Luminance pencil? Which color name is that?
