I watched this last week, but felt compelled to come back today and listen to it again. Nice lighting, videography, and playing! I really like how the instrument is designed to allow real-time customization of the sounds.

Great video. When yamaha first introduced both these boards (CP73 & CP88) over a year ago , I was blowed away.. I was determined to buy one being the CP73. I finally was able to grab one roughly 3 months ago & still in love with it. Thx for demonstrating an awesome product.

Lovely. Great job showcasing what makes this instrument special (imo, the integration of the samples with a phenomenal reverb & effects engine- seems to really breathe life into the sounds). Also like that diagonal shot with the lampshade and Tanqueray in the background :P

Thank you for this great and sharp video. I really enjoyed it. I actually have the same CP88 in the studio and it feels great that you show this awesome machine. Thanks again for the inspiration. /Rob

wonderful, emotional playing man...absolutely stunning !!!
Soulkeys, can you give me some tips for improvising ?- i love it but i am not
really good at it like you.
And by the way what is your favorite e-piano in terms of Piano-sound and touch?
I would really like to hear your honest answer, because i am going to buy one soon,
but i don`t want to waste money. The price is not the dealbreaker for me.
What is your favorite one which one inspires you the most ?
Thank you Soulkeys Greetings from Germany Oliver

Soul is his middle name...lovely...this or the sv2? Keybed...and sounds comparison...which one? Thanks!

The RH3 Keybed from Korg is well known and the only best hammer mechanic from Korg. But the NW-GH3 (Natural Wood Graded Hammer) from Yamaha is clearly more valuable and better for pianists. For Rhodes players, the BHS (Balanced Hammer Standard) keyboard: matte black keytops at cp 73 is perfect. If you want yamaha grand piano sound, the CP are uncompromising. Otherwise, Korg SV2 and Clavia Nord Electro / Stage is sonically more flexible and better amp simulations and Effects…Have fun! 🎹🎧👋🏻

I’ve heard that some have complained that the keybed on the CP 73 (not the 88) has reliability issues.
Any thoughts regarding this ?.. What are your thoughts on the feel of the 73 keybed ?

The yamaha so-called BHS (Balanced Hammer Standard) is in my opinion the best compromise for playing Rhodes, organ and Grandpiano. It is better than Fatar TP 100 which are built in the Clavia NS or Electro HP. Certainly the NW-GH3 (Natural Wood Graded Hammer) of the CP 88 with synthetic ebony and ivory keytops is better for true pianists.

Love your playing! I'm still debating to buy a Yamaha CP73. I started my music career on drums and after music school gigged on Vibes. These days I work playing piano more and I use a Korg SV1 73, which I find the action on the hard side, but love the E.Piano. Before I had gigged a lot with a Korg 01WFD 61. How is the touch of this Yamaha CP73 compared to the above mentioned keyboards? Would love to hear your impression of the touch of the Yamaha

The BHS (Balanced Hammer Standard) keyboard with matte black keytops is the best compromise for playing piano, rhodes and other instruments like organ and so on. It is softer, more comfortable compare with the RH3 from SV1/2. And with the CP 88 you get the NW-GH3 (Natural Wood Graded Hammer) keyboard: synthetic ebony and ivory keytops. I would say, it´s the best hammer mechnic keybed in the market. Have Fun!🤘
