  • Hello everyone! Welcome back to Fast Lane TV. This video is about "Sons of Anarchy has RUINED motorcycles for everyone".
Sons of Anarchy is perhaps one of the most iconic motorcyclist-centric shows out there. After all, it is one of the few shows to be on biker gangs. However, many bikers think that the show is an insult to their culture and has given them a bad name.
It would be difficult to overstate the influence motorcycles have had on American society. Almost immediately after their invention, these two-wheeled speed machines began to take on a symbolic meaning in the minds of ordinary Americans. The end consequence is the motorcycle subculture of today, which has evolved through a number of cultural shifts and technological advances over the years.
Both the culture surrounding motorcycling and the motorbike itself have developed throughout time. In the early 1900s, when motorcycles first became commercially available, enthusiasts quickly began customizing, racing, and enjoying their rides. The organization known as the American Motorcyclist Association was established in 1924.
Bikes made by well-known companies like Harley-Davidson were used in both World Wars. Consequently, a large number of people in the United States developed a strong affinity for motorcycles, which persisted throughout the postwar era.
When returning from World War II, many men and women found that joining motorcycle clubs was a good way to meet new people and get back into the swing of civilian life. After the "Hollister riot" in 1947 and other successful counterculture films featuring motorcycles, such as The Wild One and Easy Rider, the stereotype of bikers as lawless rebels began to take hold of the public's imagination. There were then numerous paths taken by motorbike culture. Some biker groups, like Bikers Against Child Abuse, are using their platforms to do good in the world. For others, it meant the formation of highly intimate social groups. The stigma of an outlaw was even adopted by some.
The rise of mass media has been instrumental in shaping modern motorcycle culture. The popular media's depiction of motorcycles has had a significant impact on the way Americans feel about them. The most iconic movie characters of all time often rode motorbikes. As an example, consider the roles played in Easy Rider by Dennis Hopper and Peter Fonda. After engaging in some shady dealings, the two men hop on their Harleys and go out into the sunset in pursuit of a higher purpose in life. Almost every motorcyclist has seen this film, and those who haven't will likely love it thereafter.

Just as a point of interest, the term "outlaw" is a contraction of an old English legal strategy where a person could be condemned to be "without law" - meaning they lost the protection of the laws of the land: it was legal to assault them, steal from them, or even murder them. Communities of those without-law were established (with their own rules) to generate some collective protection

@@-DVOID- I used to teach Politics, and this is what the phrase Anarchy actually means. People believe it means chaos or the absence of rules, but it actually means the absence of ruleRs. A group will collect together and decide by common agreement how to conduct themselves. Rules are adhered to only by common consent, and there is no legacy of structures of governance that controls what new members of the group have to do (outside of what the current group consensus is). Anarchist populations, however, are very vulnerable to take over from more rigidly organised outsiders.
A classic view of anarchist populations are Pirate crews of the 1700s - the social structure discarded and common consent established as a decision making mechanism. For necessary security, Pirate captains were given unilateral authority during combat; but outside of this counted no higher than any other crew member

Not exclusive to bikes but when you see all manner of "things" that are recognizable from brands of bikes to even TP (no shit) this is on purpose and is actually promoted by the ad agencies who pay the producers for shots of the various products. In some cases the actors also get a "talent fee". The reverse is product names being shown on shows that have long runs. One of the biggies is cameras. The make is clear by the overall appearance (Nikon-Cannon etc.) what is blurred out or lost in the depth of field is the model #. The big boys leg hump those megapixels. One more... many times when the hero rides off into the setting sun two up with the chica with the great rack on the pillion, even on a Combat Wombat, the bike sounds like a Harley in need of new plugs.

H-D purposefully markets their brand to that stereotype & the typical consumer reinforces that negative image. No real 1%er really cares if some kid wears a SOA cut, because they’re obviously a fan of that show. The real problem here, is the wannabe outlaw biker that gives the culture a bad name.

I had dropped off the give-away bike and two Angels (cute girls) as our part of the promotion. When the tournament was over, three of us went to pick them up. Lucky was with me in his riding attire as was Big Tim, one of our porters, who looked like part mountain man, part road warrior and part pirate. I looked all Harley Corporate in my khaki pants and dealership logo shirt. There was a well dressed lady at a table in the snack bar with her husband who had just taken part in the tournament. She saw me with my very obvious biker friends. She motioned for me and she whispered "I watch Sons of Anarchy. They ride motorcycles and they kill people!" The husband hid his face in his hand. I turned to her and said, "I know but at Harley-Davidson we frown on that type of behavior". Her husband just busted out laughing.

Never watched a single episode, the entire concept to me was just too disgusting. As both a biker and Anarchist I feel nothing but disdain for any fool sporting a fake biker outfit with the Hollywood insignia of the cursed production, further messing up the perception of Anarchy, as we have seen for decades being pumped out by the media. Anarchy is not a free for all" the Purge style" lack of rules and morals, and it certainly isn't faux romantic banditry misappropriating biker culture either.
The Purge is what fascism looks like, and SOA a venereal disease (quite literally in Dutch, it is their abbreviation for STD).
There have always been many bikers among Anarchists and Anarchists among bikers, with a key element of Anarchism that does not go well with the concept of most motorclubs, I'd go as far as saying it is insurmountable: *hierarchy* .
We either ride alone or as equals. No leadership bs tyvm, we have enough of that fucking up our world already.

Best traps for 10mm goblins. How to get the magic smoke back into my multimeter after shorting something lil buddy couldnt handle?
