very powerful and accurate description of all those who were radicals back in the 60s but made their peace with the system, excellent acting by Dreyfuss, the movie really, really moved me.
Do you know why being a revolutionary doesn't work in this country? Being a revolutionary in America is like being a spoil sport at an orgy. All these goodies being passed around and you feel like a shit when you say no.😂
The movie was a tough sell to a 1978 audience still mesmerized with the basic widescreen good v. bad guys (and shark) cinematic simplicity of 'Jaws', 'Rocky', and 'Star Wars'. It was only made via star Richard Dreyfuss' recent Oscar winner sheen, but how to promote it beyond featuring him prominently in all of the television commercial previews....

Yet another example of how Richard Dreyfuss is the king of the emotional breaths.
One of a little bunch
Good acting. Good story. Good movie.
I remember this coming out. I was in 3rd grade.
The 60s lefty references are quite good. Usually Hollywood gets it wrong, but this was damn close to how it was.
cause jeremy was in rym 2 you don't know what that was do you?
A good yarn..

Awful movie, see The Goodbye Girl instead

A "comedy thriller" that's neither funny nor thrilling. Awful soundtrack too. The Big Fix is a Big Flop.
I disagree.
Ok Mr Ebert
