    I found 2 magazines that go into 87.000 homes every month and it works. I stay very busy; it has been a slight bit slower this summer, but I have been getting a lot of calls from my regular customers. Also doing the simple little thing on new jobs like hitting that small shed just because it's close to the home and needs cleaning, those little things get the word going around about you and how great of a job you put out.

    Facebook ads done right is where it’s at. I have a fairly small market and I’m getting at least 5 calls a day.

    Yea you need to send out more eddm comes with sending out thousands order on vista print and mail them out yourself it’ll be cheaper to mail it out yourself

    Hopefully you will get calls later from it. It does seem economic slowdown has people thinking about other things. Not that the wealthier Americans can’t afford the cleaning , they are just thinking about keeping their income where it is. Everyone is feeling the economy one way or another. Good luck!

      You got that right!!! In small towns google doesn’t work. Door knocking , word of mouth, and yard signs are best. Small town people love to meet and talk to you in person so they can feel you out. I know the towns that surround me are small and us small town folks only use google is when we’re going out of town or ordering something 😂😂😂

    I’ve always heard instead of mailing 800 once, you need to mail 200 to the same houses 4 times. I’ve never tried it, but it makes sense to me. The more touches the better

    I've found that you need at least 2k sent out to see some kind of ROI. 600 is risky for reward.

    Eddm has worked GREAT for me this year I found a local company that I go through that sends them out to my specific demographic every three weeks I’ve been sending out 1500 every three weeks. We sent out a little over 13,000 this year.

    Door knocking is very effective. only a numbers game until you hit a house. but its very challenging if your up for it. Hope everything goes how u need it to over there for u bro keep your head up, love how you keep it 100 with everything you put out.

    I've never used eddm but I've heard you gotta hit the same neighborhood 3 times with them... For us marketing goes as follows...
    1. 6 months reminders/word of mouth
    2. Facebook ads
    3. Google ads

    Hey Scott, I also sent the same postcard here in California. 1,700 pieces last week and got 0 calls. I have read that you need to send the same postcard to the same address at least 3 times. (It is written in the window cleaner's marketing book by the owner of WCR) There is a chapter about it. I will send these postcards again soon, They worked earlier in the season but I do feel it is slower right now. I'll be contacting past clients as well and upselling them and probably focusing on getting commercial work.

    You should have used Mike Carmody the fresh rinse he makes those mailers I think he makes them for 225 or 299 not sure

    Scott. I’m a 3 rd generation contractor. Power washing, gutters , Painting and Repairs. Fully insured with workers compensation not I dividí al certificates. And that is our Our bus was est. in 1910 and Im the 3 rd generation . It literally is my slowest season, I’ve done all the same advertising as you over the years ( 2006 was my next slowest year). I thought I was over the hill being slow and I was dead wrong. I’ve had 5-10 men on my payroll up till 2006 now 2 and I had to let 1 guy go and he has been with 10 years. . We are located in Ct. It hasn’t been easy but this year I’ve done 1/2 the business. As last year , I do not have the answer, I know some have work but there working for nothing because I bid against them . I have workers comp. Others do not ( that’s one of our major expenses.). Corky.

    I think is just the time of the year, you put the EDDM’s in August and that is one of the worst months for residential jobs, personally August has been my worst month since I started.

    I’m in rural NC. Town of 5k and county population of only 49k. It’s tough. I’ve tried most of the marketing that seems successful for some of the guys in more urban areas, but it doesn’t work well here. I wish you the best of luck Scott and if you find the formula, please let me know!

    I’ve been in business pressure washing 14 years full time with no “ side hussles”. Jan Feb Aug are always my 3 slowest months. Jan = most people stingy with money because holidays just ended. February everybody says wait till tax returns then call to get house washed. August school starts back across country kids in school taking parents extra money for supplies cloths etc.

      You hit the nail on the head. In August I get customers that has grown children and it basically just a older couple living there.

    Send out 5k-10k or more you’ll get jobs. These guys just want to tell you nothing works so you buy their courses😂

    You’ve got to be willing and able to send out a lot more than that. 600 or 700 mailers isn’t going to get anything unless lucky. Even with the appropriate volume and consistency, the ROI can be modest. One run was probably a waste of marketing dollars.

    Ha ha. better story I put on next door offer to clean sidewalk and driveway free... send photo wifey picks worst one clean free one a week. Stated no upsell etc. Just a free clean. 2.3k views not one reply.... not even 1 curious reply 😂.

      Free usually comes at the cost of something is the mentality. Think about time share sells. Everyone loves vacations, they offer a FREE full weekend to an awesome city or beautiful island and all you have to do is attend a 45 min seminar where they show you how beautiful things are. And then BAM you're hit by the absolute best sales staff that convinces you to buy something. FEAR is the interpretation of FREE
