I can honestly say I have NEVER EVER seen a wedding ceremony next to a cemetery. That was VERY unusual.
It goes to show that providing dj service is more than what it seems. We are coordinate events and make the events special. Way to go and I can't wait to see the next dj gig log!
I missed the Premiere! Want to address some stuff said.
1. This was not the original venue. It was suppose to be at a barn with tons of dancing drinking and partying. Legal matters changed the wedding date and therefore the venue.
2. Do to the change I was already set to be there DJ/MC and worked with them to help make the best of the situation.
3. If you think every wedding is a crazy dancing, dj mixing night, your dead wrong. And this was the point of this gig log to show you guys that not every wedding you do is like that. It's part of being a flexible mobile DJ/MC.
DJ Rick Web You did amazing bro regardless of the situation at hand. I too have DJ’ed plenty of day-time weddings where there was practically no dancing, kind of frustrating but it is what it is. So kudos to you and your squad!
amazing job i have done event like this we call them Christian quinceanera/wedding were you are only allow to play gospel related songs. and i agree with you every dj should have the skill to adapt to every event.

DJ Rick Web killed it once again. (Fortunately there was a burial plot available). Rick, fantastic setup, sound, lighting and execution. Obviously not the ideal situation all around, but you made that event. Without you and your team, that would have been a boring basement gathering and people would have left by 6:00, but you turned it into a memorable fantastic day for two people. I've never seen so much going on in such a small area, yet somehow you tied it all together with your attention to detail. Great job and way to save the day.

I had one in Lynchburg, VA no dancing was allowed other than the couples first dance. Fundamental Baptist... Yes there was a Falwell family member in the wedding party. Rev. Jerry Falwell founded Liberty University. Welcome to the Bible Belt Rick!
This is typical of weddings in the South. No booze & no dancing but the client has the best time. Moved here from the North 15 years ago and it still feels like I didn't do a good job because I grade performance on packing the dance floor. Great professionalism Rick! Much respect.

Use an iPad for the ceremony. Leave the laptop with the main rig. Too much can happen. Nice video.

Nice gig log Rick. I've done about 4 of "no dancing" weddings and they were actually quite nice. Like you we played different games and interacted with the wedding party. I've also used the Alto Stealth Wireless system on several occasions with no problems at all. The longest distance i had to cover was 150 ft around a corner from my booth and it performed nicely. I have heard of it interfering with some wireless mics as well. Keep up the good work.

i don't think you give VDJ enough cred. lol,,, they never let me down, never had any issues for DJ in all 5 yrs.
I completely agree!! IMO VDJ is much more powerful then people give it credit for. VDJ comes out with stuff and it takes the others (Serato, Traktor, ect) along time to follow! I use Serato from time to time but VDJ is my go to!
VDJ is solid but I just don't like it. I don't have any issues with it just prefer serato.

You guys should check out the article that DJ TechTools just did on VDJ. I was pleasantly surprised! Especially since they normally are big Serato and Traktor fans!
it's not a bad software, i'd definitely use it as backup if traktor failed. Personally I hate the fx on vdj, imo they sound awful.

What you do with a crew of 3, I do by myself. I would like to have an assistant, but can never find anyone reliabile over the years. Even offering $200 for the night...people are flaky! Sometimes I can get one of my DJs to tag along, BUT usually they are booked as well since most of what we do is on a Saturday! ...My son is 10 and he helps me load my SUV out of storage...Maybe 3 more years and he can tag along with me on a wedding here and there lol

Background music. So no need for there volume. The prx 712 has a wider coverage and its smaller and lighter. Better tool for the job at hand.

I need a cleaner version of this logo. But because of the brand tied to the DJ logo it has to stay similar. And I dont have a website using this logo. I have my fusion sound and lighting website which is my company.

Early finish. 9.30 ?? In England, it goes on and on and on..... Normal finish at a wedding here is about 11.30. You put in a lot of work for a short gig. Don't know what to make of it really. I'll give it a thumbs up but I'm sure you could have got away with a lot less in the way of prepping the location.

yesterday i had a wedding, the bride and groom gave me a do not play list and pretty much crossed out all the bangers, not kust line dances but all bangers! classic and new! what fucking boring ass people dude. Then having to explain to the guests who were requesting the songs srry i cant play it its on my do not play list

Honestly, lame. Why bring a lot of lights and gear when no one cares or is going to appreciate it. If you can’t let loose a little and have some fun on your wedding day, then you need to change to another religion, or better yet no religion. No dancing, just sitting at round tables under a tent eating bad food. It’s no wonder this ended early, the guests couldn’t wait to move on to something more exciting: going home and starting some laundry. Hope they paid you well, Rick, as this was just horrible. Oh and I can’t tell if there was more action at the wedding or in the adjacent cemetery!
