It's not that he's too big. It's that he is so big AND has speed, agility, and skills like a much smaller guy, AND a very high ball IQ. He's unstoppable at every offensive range and is a nightmare on defense.

@@allenjanvalie This is completely true. Wilt Chamberlain played in an era that was not yet ready for an athletic freak to come and dominate. I'm not saying the centers before were weak, they were good in terms of average, but Wilt was just too strong. Though, I feel that Wilt placed in this era would actually struggle a little bit, but no doubt he is still the best ever Warriors center.

A Center with good handles, 3 pt shooting & surely a threat in defense. I've never seen someone like him in the NBA before. If San Antonio wins NBA this season and he stays healthy, he could not only win ROY but MVP as well. I will not be surprise.

I mean, San Antonio is one of the worst teams in this century, with 8-35. Win the chip is not an option this year. 😂

What's most fascinating about Wemby is his body control for someone who's so tall. He basically has the moves of a 6'6" small forward -- it's not not like he has any special skills the league hasn't seen, he's just tall. Would he be NBA caliber if he were 6'6"? No, but his height gives him unicorn status. Let's say he gets 60% of his points because of his height. His best position is probably shooting guard, if that makes any sense. I'm not sure he'll ever become an Embiid, Jokic, Giannis or LeBron (able to score at will and dominate a game) but he'll be able to drop 30 points now and again, and be a defensive wall. That's pretty amazing.

I mean I get it but he creates most of his own points off his own dribble and it’s not like it’s all dunks it’s mainly floaters mid ranges and threes he has great handle even by all star guard standards and he can see the floor aswell

Let's hope he can stay healthy. The way he moves out there, oh man, he looks like he's going snap a limb. Does anyone know if it's better for a pro NBA player who is that tall to bulk up or stay slender, or even skinny like he is now? I can see reasons why having more muscle might be good to reduce injuries and reasons why it might be bad for ligaments, tendons, etc. He weighs only 210lbs, which is probably what allows him to be so agile. I'm only 6 foot and I weigh the same or a little more than he does. Even if bulking up would sacrifice some agility, it would be worth it if it enables the longest career possible.
