Tim, it's the Terrace Tower, Fountain View, Room 3693 at the Cosmopolitan Hotel! I've enjoyed viewing your videos and am part of the Photo Academy. I've learned so much and have made friends across the globe. Hope I'm right! I want to go back to Iceland and learn from the master!
Hi Tim - my wife & I reserved this room two years ago for this very same "money shot". And yes, it took some figuring out but we had it planned out completely. Then we were told that under no uncertain terms were tripods allowed on any of their balconies due to security measures. So, rather than "buck the system" and do it anyway while hoping that no one would "catch" me, (like so many other photographers I've seen do) my wife and I did the right thing and aborted this long desired "money shot." So, we went over to Mandalay Bay on the rooftop over there for at least something to bring back. Now, I've heard that "others" have never heard of this "security measure". Perhaps that is so - and at the same time, maybe they just did not go so far as to check or question the protocol at the location. But that's something I always do and yes, I've lost some money shots, but at least I did the right thing. And in the end, it's not about the money anyway - it's about getting out there and enjoying yourself.
Tm, Fountain View, Room 3693 at Cosmopolitan Hotel. I was there few years back.
Fantatic video Tim. Amazing photos. Appreciate all your videos and classes!
Wow, amazing photos! Great video - thanks!
Great content as usual Tim!
Great video, thanks Tim. Out of the context, is this a travel bag made for camera? Which one is it? thanks
Thanks! Heading to Vegas this weekend
Great video--I've rocked the Bellagio parking lot too. Really cool.
I live here, great tips. I'm going to photograph these places.
Amazing video tim
Great video.
But I would like to see what camera settings you are using to capture the scenes.
Tim, Great shot. I learned a ton from The Transformation Masterclass and I'm going through the Tack Sharp Photography Course now. Your style makes learning so easy. That's why I also signed up for the VIP Coaching. Thanks for your help and I look forward to learning even more!!!
Thanks so much Lewie! So great to read your comment here. It makes me happy to know I have helped you take great photos.
Great video Tim. I was standing right there (Bellagio parking lot) yesterday afternoon. As I live here I'll go back and see if I can get a "tack sharp" image for myself. Thanks for all your videos and classes. I signed up a year ago and have gotten so much out of your content, especially your Photography Transformation Class. Regards, Doug
Hi Doug! It is so great to hear that you have used what you learned in the Photography Transformation Masterclass to improve your photography! Also, it is really cool you were just on that parking structure at the Bellagio. If you got something good, post it in the Photography Academy Facebook group.
We are going to vegas soon. We are staying in the fountain view suite at Cosmo. Hope we get a great view!!
Any setting tips for iso, fstop and shutter speed that were used in this video ?
Do u have to book the hotel before or can u go there and pay the day of
Hi Tim - I'm headed to Vegas in 2 weeks and I really want to capture some nice shots while I'm out there. Did you say that you were on the very top floor of the Bellagio parking garage during that first session?
4:54 Who cares that it cost about $360+Tax + resort fees per day? The Cosmopolitan right? Lovely view, expensive shots. What camera gear do you use BTW?
So Tim, After buying your course, and watching how to do this appears you are in the Cosmopolitan East square building with S Las Vegas Blvd to the East and W Harmon Ave to the South. You appear to be on the west most unit of that building. The floor is a little hard to judge, but I would guess the 18-20 floor? How I'm doing? In-room 3693.
Tom, you are awesome!!! Love your analysis!! Your planning a research is spot on :-)
Umm how are we supposed to choose are floor and room? It don’t show on their site
So what hotel and what floor?
It is always a pleasure to see your videos, they are superlative and fantastic
Thank you very much Gian!
Wow I wish I had watched this video before I went to Vegas last year! The tip about the tripod and railing was great!
3:53 i don’t think I would have the guts to put such a nice camera that close to the edge 😰😱
I was about to comment that!
I going to Las Vegas in Nov for the first time. What is the name of the hotel please 5:31?
Cosmopolitan fountain view corner suite..... 🍻
Tim
What MM did you shoot your shot from the cosmopolitan?? What lense did you use ? 14mm, 18mm, 24mm ??
What floor of the Bellagio was this at Tim?
Tim kind of mentioned the hotel and floor but since he didn't mention it specifically. I think he said that for anyone who can correctly guess the hotel and floor you get a free Sony A7R4 or something like that..
I'm guessing the Bellagio, 10th floor.
36th floor (terrace view) of the Cosmo. ;-) Don't hate me, Tim. 😉 Don't need anything but a RRS tripod for my D850. Awesome classes you have. I bought your package. May buy more if time / $$$ / subject matter permit! Need a little more compositional help! Tim Shields is the best photo mentor instructor out there folks!
@Av8Chuck hahaha! That is so funny. Yes, if you can guess the floor it is a free Sony A7R4 and an A9 plus a D850 and a free trip to Iceland with me!
OK so big hint...the hotel can't be the Bellagio because the Bellagio is in the shot.
Thank you so much Peter for that awesome complement.
@@TimShieldsPhotography Wouldn't say it if it weren't true. You've given my photography a quantum leap. So you didn't comment on my guess... 😎 I'll take an RRS tripod and take the free trip to Iceland with you! Love your backpack, what make & model? I need a bigger one then I currently have.
You missed the damn plane bro. That would have been the absolute money shot.
I thought I was the only one thinking that
2.5 sec? At what shutter speed?
Kinda bad you posted this as finding great locations in Vegas and only one is mentioned and the second from the cosmo is never mentioned…just saying….
I am going to see if I can knock on the door hand the person 50 bucks and spend 20 min there.
Any luck getting the shot.
