    I am Malaysian residing in Seri Kembangan, Selangor state only minutes away from KL. I've been to Cameron Highlands about 13 or 14 times in my entire life. And I never get tired of it!🥰People always tell me that these days the weather in Cameron Highlands not as cool as it used to be which I beg to disagree. The weather is still as cool as the first time I went at 12. A relative of mine bought a house in Cameron Highlands. Btw, there are other hill resorts in Peninsular Malaysia besides C Highlands (Pahang), like Genting Highlands (Pahang) (my least favorite for some reasons), Fraser's Hill (Pahang), Larut Hills formely Maxwell Hills(Perak), Penang Hill (Penang), Gunung Jerai (Kedah).

      Well, for me is not as cold like it was supposed to be.. maybe with your feeling but not mine, I am 39 this year, i am living near medan gopeng when bus main hub in that area, i started like taking bus to cameroon leisurely..... my late father is the one who manage the ingenious community in camerron highland underJHEOA (goverment) at that time. Since child always followed my late father to fetch mineral water from the mountain on the way to cameroon highland. I can confirm the tempreture is not cold as you feel...is getting warm and warmer ... i am very sensitive with tempreture, so my sensivity is more accurate.. i knew very much the different. As for your information...i also work 2 year in Genting highland....

    Problem with Cameron Highlands are the horrible traffic jams during weekends n public holidays. I prefer to stay in Dalat or in Sapa, Vietnam.

    • @willsmith39
      @willsmith39 8 місяців тому +4

      I'd absolutely agree that CH is definitely best avoided on public holidays and weekends when it can be an absolute nightmare getting in and out due to the tourist influx.
      But honestly as someone who lived there for an extended period of time and is planning to retire there it's not in any way a deal breaker for me personally as I prefer to just stay around my area, at home and go for walks etc on the weekend. If I had to commute a lot back and forth then yes traffic is a serious consideration.
      But nowhere is perfect and CH ticks so many boxes for me. It's peaceful, so cool I rarely use Aircon, it's very inexpensive and then it being Malaysia you have all the usual advantages of safety, good infrastructure, excellent health care and dental, everyone speaks English etc.
      For me Vietnam is nice to visit but still too underdeveloped and chaotic. The air pollution is 6 x WHO safe levels. Even when I visited Dalat it was smoggy, the air quality in CH is generally excellent.
      It's all personal choice at the end of the day of course.
      For a lot of people the noise and chaos of Vietnam and Cambodia is what makes it exciting. It's very vibrant. They would find CH frankly a bit dull. Boring even.
      But for me boring is good 😂

I wonder if there is a writing background, given the care in expressing your thoughts. Also, when you interact there is an equality, a wokeness that I love. I have problems with travel vlogs done by couples where the man always needs to correct or butt in. You are both beautiful and love you both. A great find for me. • @ericsblank
    @ericsblank 8 місяців тому +1

    Dan I love you and your videos. But there were some serious mistakes in your descriptions of the visa requirements. For the peninsula one (which is currently suspended) they require a minimum monthly income of $10K USD. You stated there was none. That crazy expensive minimum income is why virtually no retires can afford the peninsula/federal MM2H. Also for the Sarawak one you stated the residency is 30 days/month. Later you correctly stated that it was 30 days/year. Finally for the fixed deposit it has to be in a Sarawak bank for the Sarawak MM2H and a Sabah bank for the Sabah MM2H. It cannot be elsewhere in Malaysia. Otherwise great video as always! I am pretty knowledgeable since I have the Sarawak MM2H. Your videos really helped to inspire me to finally leave my job in the US and move to Malaysia just 6 weeks ago at age 54.

    What did you mean when you said they are starting to crack down on visa runs? Visa runs are not illegal. So long as you exit by your exit date you can legally reenter at any time. But I do know that sometimes for political reasons (or to get bribes) immigration officials may start to hassle people who return on a tourist visa / visa exemption.
    What happened to the expats you talked to when they tried to return on a visa run? Were they actually denied entrance or did they just encounter an official who hassled them?
    I am planning to come to rent a place there for six-nine months, so if I really can't exit and reenter every 90 days I will need to change my plans.

    • @dancooper5741
      @dancooper5741 8 місяців тому +2

      A person can leave the country & return …..but back to back “visa runs” are seen by immigration as an abuse of the system. In Malaysia it’s not a Visa ..it’s a social visit pass & visitors staying long term are suspected of working illegally or simply avoiding the MM2H process that actually allows long term stays. I’ve been doing rotational countries for 12 years , so 90 days here , 90 days there etc ……by the time you get back to the starting point , it could be 9 months since they’ve seen you. You could flick between Thailand , Malaysia, Vietnam , Cambodia ….all within a short cheap flight. Some benefits to that as well….your not grounded in one place long enough to get “attached” to contingent liabilities.

      But you are poor with $4k USD month income. I love visiting Singapore. The numbers don't lie. All over the world. The numbers make you a king or a slave. I am a king.

      I have lived in Singapore for 13 years - yes it is great .. but it is not really a retirement destination unless you are PR/ married to local/ own a business .. and also need a relatively high income or savings (most things in Malaysia are ringett for SGD .. so 1/3 cost of Singapore .. except for alcohol. )

      Singapore is a boring place ..no nature , no rivers , waterfalls , beaches , hills mountain . What is there , buildings and roads ?.
      Expensive too , that Singaporean come to Malaysia to get cheaper foods and fuel . Singapore is basically nothing without Malaysia

      I agree. Malaysia is not expensive. All worlds are here. And the infrastructure is only beaten by Singapore which is a bit antiseptic for my taste.
