That same 747 flies back and forth from LAX to Germany every day. I hope they take some time to inspect the gear after that bounce.
I'd rather say: And also inspect the "Pilot in Command."
The "approach speed" but especially the "descent speed just before ground contact" seemed really abnormal...
Eh they'll just let it fly knowing the news will blame the manufacturer instead of maintenance later if something goes wrong
Of course they will inspect the landing gear !!
That bouncing wasn't normal.
I do hope they will "inspect" the pilot crew as well... along the recording flight computer.
@@toro5338 thats the first thing i realized.
Blame the manufacturer is right!
Happened while watching my favorite live stream AVL! Kevin's reaction says it all!
I was on this flight. felt like how it looked!
@@SloopJohnB91 Wow! I've had that experience too and it's something you just don't expect!
@@SloopJohnB91so do you know what happened?? What makes this craziness - I've never seen this, esp with a behemoth (or is the huge bounce BECAUSE it's a behemoth?)
I'm right there with you Cheryl! I was watching live too. Kevin's reaction says it all!!!
@@skittles5347 Hello! How many times have we seen our Lufty land? Always seems so routine but unfortunately things like that happen. What an experience for Kevin to capture!
The pilots knew that Keven was recording and they wanted to give him a little show.
When a landing exceeds a certain g threshold, the plane has to be inspected and repaired as necessary. That was definitely and very hard landing.
The mighty 747. Tough as nails and built like a tank. ❤
and treated like a rabid street dog by this pilot
USA, USA, USA!

Lufthansa confirmed, pilot in training.
Oh yes ....she's The QUEEN....nothing con stop her.....❤747❤
The pilot was distracted by a homeless encampment built next to the runway due to the high cost of housing in Los Angeles.
not funny lol
Still better than wherever you live haha
dude its an In N Out next to the runway. Get your facts correct.
TDS with a mirror.
Take it to your city officials.
Кто увидел невероятную прочность и качество состовляющих шасси??!!!
Everybody!
Pilot thought he was flying a battered B-17 after a mission over Bremen.
Thats gotta be so embarrassing among the pilots LOL
German at LAX meets German in Venice 😉
A touch and touch and go…
When happened while watching of our AVL Live Stream. Kevin's reaction says it's all.
This has nothing to do with what kind of plane it is lol
Lufthansa- Your fired
Ryanair- Your hired
L.A. is not known for strong winds with downdrafts this time of year. This is going to be pilot error.
Lufthansa told a Cologne newspaper that it was a landing of a pilot who was in training for the aircraft type.
DEI hire
It was a practice_training flight, Lufthansa told a german newspaper 😊
Formerly Navy fighter pilot, forgot he wasn't landing on a carrier.
That’s was definitely a bumpy ride
"Landed on the tarmac..." Well, that explains it.
tarmac /tär′măk″/
noun
Area of an airport where planes park or maneuver.
Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing!
Ohhh shiiett… wer in LA, nevermind, lets get outta here..
they hate florida. no doubt

1,500 hrs to be commercial pilot what you expect! So respect your senior pilot's they know a thing or two better 🫡... 5,000 + hrs they had to go thru
They'll never forget this one!
As an avgeek, that is just so cool to see.
In the parlance of the bus fans, "wow, how robust is the 747!!"
I experienced an elephant of a landing coming into SFO from Honolulu. United. The smoothest was Lufthansa from Frankfurt in 2001.
Just departed LAX two days ago and the landing at FWA was smooth as butter. Best landing in years. With the runway length of 11981 ft (just 109 ft less than 25R/L at LAX) there was plenty of room to make a comfortable landing.
Enjoy the replacement workers
Wish the Germans were this bad at flying back in the 1930's.
That structural damage inspection list it’s going to be very vey expensive. Ouch
Most likely a downdraft at maybe 10ft off the deck. Pilot did the safest thing there and did a go-around.
Lithuania Airlines and Boeing should use this video as their next commercial promoting their airplane models
Lufthansa*
Have your considered working for Ryan Air...
Succeeded at landing a wheely and defying gravity
Airspeed seemed a bit low
*Ryanair Certified*
"I apologize, passengers. It's my first time."
All day i thought those guys in the helicopter was just local cops busting my balls over Lufthansa.
Is that structurally sound after that? 😮
Of course its wway wway wayyyy below the limit of what the plane can handle
Looks like they came in way too fast It appears as though the pilot tries to compensate by lowering the nose. Came darn close to bouncing the nose gear, which could’ve been catastrophic.
I look forward to the movie about this in a few years. Starring Ryan Gosling. He will be singing and dancing.
A "Touch and go" landing is intentional, this was a bad landing quickly "aborted" for a "go around" procedure. Also, planes park on the tarmac, not land. That's for runways only.
When you lied on your resume
sure helped that those wings weren't fiberglass
That trainee wasn't an experienced former fighter pilot I'd wager. Nuff said.
I can hold it!
That plane looked like it was coming in way too fast.
Definitely was not Stringfellow Hawke flying the plane.
Boeing just can't catch a break 😂
that was literally just a hard landing
Yeah because you keep blaming them for absolutely everything
FedEx 80 bounce but no crash
Hensley Meulens flying again?
Just shows how bad it is in California, even the plan did not want to touch ground for long.
Ryan Air is looking for their pilot
400 plus passengers all went to the hospital for spinal compression trauma.
That was a big bird. Made a little bob boo. Somebody has some splainin to do Lucy.
Carrier landing..
definitely a Hard landing and maybe a little too fast ??
When the captain saw the gasoline price in the hood
When we try to catch a breather from all the mojo happening in our old ole California, here we go again. WE MUST NEVER RELAX IN OUR RIGGED DEMOCRAP-RUN BLUE STATE!!! NEVER!!! EVER!!!
After bounce he pushed the stick down 🙈
He will never make it in the Luftwaffe. Sad
Rookie pilot?
New to the aircraft, far from rookie
Courtesy of pfizer
Those passengers know they arrived in the U.S. when the 747 did a rodeo bucking bull manuever.🤣🏇🧑🦼👨🦽👩🦽🧑🦽👨🦼👨🦯
Going to need a chiropractor after that landing
Is it a Boeing?
Obviously
it is but why does that matter this is just a bounced landing
If you can’t even identify the 747, that says somethjng

DEI Hired pilot and a Boeing aircraft.
Don’t understand it’s the most diverse crew they’ve ever had???
Who actually thinks stupid stuff like this? 😂
Captain d'Shizawnique Jackson is offended by your assertion.
Don't forget the white guys who built the planes over at Boeing where the doors and wheels fall off.
You realize that’s Lufthansa a German airline.
Dang
I didn't know Germany had DEI hires too.
You seriously think they put entry levels on a 747? 😂

Remember the germanwings white pilot Andreas Lubitz that committed murder crashing the a320 into the alps?
nope wrong
@@SweetToastSugar No I don't remember hearing about that crash. I just finished reading about it from Wikipedia. Andreas condition was known and they still let him fly, that is unacceptable. Beyond WTF. Just how low is the bar? Would they let someone worse than his condition fly Thanks, I will be thinking about this forever.
You seriously think they’re putting entry levels on the 747? 😂
👀😬😬😬😳😳😳😳😳
If you’re still flying on 747s rn, you’re asking for it
what's wrong with the 747? If anything, this video shows how strong that plane actually is. And also, you obviously don't know anything about planes because this is the 747-8. It's relatively new
Their is nothing wrong with the 747 any version why is it the aircraft has been on the production line till this year since the late 1960s & it's only come to an end because twin jets can do what 4 jet aircraft can & they're more fuel efficient
This might be the dumbest comment ever…impressive
@@vito774 That wasn't anything to do with the type of aircraft that was all about them in the cockpit not controlling it properly

We should be asking! Why are they still flying a 747?
because it's only 9 years old and they are good for 30 years
It’s a great aircraft

what does biden have to do with a german airline
“We want to be more inclusive”

If it's Boeing,I ain't going, not even on the 747.
now that's just flawed logic. There has NEVER been an issue with the 747-8, nor have there been issues with the 777 or 787. Do you even realize how many of them are flying right now? If anything, the video proves how strong the 747 is.
